I had the pleasure to go to the "Welcome America" Tour and see Prince at Madison Square Garden. OMG IDA was killing it with Prince, Shelia E & the list just kept going.
Well, the Purple One knew talent when he heard it, for sure. Miss Ida is far from lacking in that realm, I can tell! Skilled, talented, and humble is a fantastic package, for sure. That tone is to die for, too! Anybody who was good enough to play with Prince is OK by me.

I was fortunate to see Ida Nielsen play with Prince in Glasgow... sensational player and added so much to the band, especially on the full line-up in 2011 Amsterdam gig at North Sea Jazz festival (10JUL11). Love that style and tone that prince obviously adored as well.
Any musician guy/girl that has work,played with, such the like of Prince,Michael Jackson,Quincy Jones,Chaka Kahn, Bowie just to name a few. Are totally on a different level of musicianship and maturity in their playing! Two thumbs up to her, for sure....
Yes you are correct! I have seen him live many times! Saginaw and Detroit MI, LA ,Minneapolis and at Paisley Park! He was truly a amazing performer! It was a very sad day when he died! Just feeling some kind of way about his death. 😔
Please dont say I'm a sexist but I love female bass player I've know of this woman for years and it's TRUE women really understand Funky Bass and she for sure certainly brings something new to the funky bass scene...she definitely in my top 5 bass players.. maybe one day she'll get to number 2 never number 1 because that's reserved for Geddy(the real deal)Lee..😁

She is one amazing bass player. I will never forget how we were - totally by chance - seated next to each other in the backstage area at some festival, like 15 years ago. I did not know who she was, she was all modesty and never even gave an inkling of a suggestion she was a bass player herself. A few years later I recognized her on stage, with Prince. Say no more :). It did give me kind of an inferiority complex that I have never really recovered from since. But everyone has to know his place on the ladder. Rightly so.
