On those suntour forks you can keep turning past the clicks do that like 10/12 times to the right to turn pre load up all the way and left to soften them up, at first I thought it was just that one full turn but you can screw them all the way in and out to ajust.
Great review. Better brakes, tires, drivetrain.... keep going? LOL Seems like a solid performer out of the box. That sale price is a bit better, too. Good to see you dudes!
Thats a great bike for the money, looks cool too. Air fork, bigger cassette, pedals and a dropper and you're sorted! Great ride too. Take care guys 🍻😎👍
Great video. I'm looking to get into MTBing, but budget is tight so it's nice to see that it took less than a month to drop from $700 to $550. Have you seen the new Scwinn Axum Comp X for the same price? Any chance you'll do a video on it in the near future?
I’ve been looking for a ride that I can throw some upgrades on, and the Expert seems like a contender. Cheap air fork, Shimano Deore or SRAM Guide brakes…
That looked like one of your smoothest runs on the Cats Meow. You should wrap a zip tie on the stanchions to see how much it moves during your test runs. Wouldn't be good to do that for a whole riding season, but for the science of your trial runs.
Love your content, man some of the best stuff on RUclips. Love you recommendations oh, and by the way you guys are, you guys are crazy you make me laugh and the best.
I saw a Switchback Expert at a local Dick's Sporting Goods. Strangely enough, The Large fit the best during a stand-over test. I should take it for a ride later.
C'mon Wolfman, let the Tick run his fingers through your hair...The subtle things, having Trail Boss lined up correctly during the slowmo bounce. I've got some Nutt branded hydraulic brakes. Very cool they giving a discount, just in time for memorial Day and Father's Day
If I needed a bike I would pick one up and replace the Fork, add a dropper, and replace the pedals with the Crank Brothers Double Shot Clipless. Looks like a great starting point (especially at the sale price) and with those upgrades, it may be better than equivalently priced bike store bikes.
You are absolutely correct it is currently on sale at Dick's sporting goods for just under $550 the expert of course other features I like are the 65° head tube angle and the 722 mm handlebars I think the reflectors should be the first thing to go issues that they could go into the spokes etc I'm definitely very excited about this bike the things I really love about Dick's sporting goods is the fact that they will correctly size you for the right size frame play completely go over the bike prior to the sale while you are waiting so this pretty much says it all for correct assembly I believe my notification Bell is on I don't think I really need to see the comp videos that they are of interest to watch them as well
The bend in the seat tube would be a showstopper for me. I'm guessing it wouldn't be a problem with a medium or large frame, at least with a 100mm dropper.
Just purchased this for my son. How do you tighten the right brake lever? He really has to squeeze it all the way down and then the tire spins. Any advice wld be greatly appreciated. TYIA
Nice bike but I'm too cheap to pay Dick's regular prices. On sale it would be a great option. "Just don't crash!" I'm writing that down so I don't forget (AGAIN).😂 Worried about breaking the Nut brakes. I've never known a guy worried about busting a Nut before.
Still wish the expert had the same color options as the comps, or atleast a better selection, but the colors offered aren't horrible and. Minor detail, but the comps have such better color options.
Can you do a video of bikes you've reviewed that you can drop the seat all the way and not hit a bend or such? Just like the Able it kills the bike for me.

Just bought the grey expert for $589 after tax. Cant wait to pick it up and ride tomorrow!

that purple looks like a Hot Wheels car i used to have when i was a kid in the 70's

I would love to see them do a video on this bike.
SOUNDS like a good ride! Although....for weight loss....I'd probably still swap the fork. 😊
You should do an upgrade video of kitting this bike out with the upgrades you mentioned and this test it then!
Boom! New Wolftick video to start the day, it’s going to be a good day.
Cheers!

Actually, just tie a rubber band around it. Zip ties can scratch.
Im at work will watch when I get home. 😎👍

looked smooth. need some chainstay protection and a dropper and it'll be a sweet ride as is.

Supprised to see you are so impressed with that xce fork. Do i have to upgrade it to something better?

Amazing video. My wife has family in hot springs. Do they have any mountain bike rental places over there?

You guys should try to get Mongoose to send you the Pro Version of this bike , it has a dropper
Will you be reviewing the larger frame versions with the 29" wheels?
No sir, just a little too big for me

Rad bike! Could you go with more travel with an upgrade?
What fork would be a good mid grade replacement?
Or the stem bearings standard sizes?
Careful, brother ... be careful, remember you just had an accident, you don't want another crash right now.
Nice bike but I'm too cheap to pay Dick's regular prices. On sale it would be a great option.
"Just don't crash!" I'm writing that down so I don't forget (AGAIN).😂
Worried about breaking the Nut brakes. I've never known a guy worried about busting a Nut before.
If you upgrade the cassette get a Advent X 11-48 or the SunRace 11-51 then use the Advent X shifter, it works flawlessly
Would you recommend this bike as a first MTB for a beginner? (Me)
First!! I'll watch it tonight after work!
I wonder if the seat tube is hampered by the size being a Small. Do you think the Medium or Large would have more room to drop the seat?
Hey guys. Haven't watched the vid yet. I'm sure it's excellent, as usual. Just want to let you know the link to the Expert ain't linking.
Are you guys going to do any videos on gravity bike's?
Is the tensioner on the derrailleur fitted not adjustable like Shimano ones? Take a panel off and shove an Allen key in?
Are you riding a M or a L? I’m torn which one is best for my son. He’s a teenager 5’7. Please help.
I've got a Small and I am only 5'5" go with the medium 👍🏻
Is the back wheel 135mm quick release or 141mm quick release?
Wolf tick should try the Norton by Poseidon. It’s a 4-man gravel bike company that hit the mark for a great budget aggressive hardtail
Still wish the expert had the same color options as the comps, or atleast a better selection, but the colors offered aren't horrible and. Minor detail, but the comps have such better color options.
If the Expert had the red the Comp does i would have spent the extra cash.
Can you do a video of bikes you've reviewed that you can drop the seat all the way and not hit a bend or such? Just like the Able it kills the bike for me.
I wonder who is going to be the King of the budget MTB? Walmart’s Ozark Trail or Mongoose with there new Switchbacks. 🤔
Fight!!
swap the good stuff out to the purple and upgrade that!
You can tighten until it stops
The bend in the seat tube seams completely unnecessary with the length of the rear triangle
Don't touch the hair bro !!! Lol
if anyone has this bike and wants to sell the "Nutt" branded brakes, I'll buy it off them! lol
Hey your the most alive when your closest to death
