The first scene is not in the official song. Also the intro of this song is largely meant to sound dreamy, and is a huge part of what ushered in the era of cloud rappers. Yung lean is so ahead of his time, he’s like mf doom in the way he’s “your favorite rappers favorite rapper”
Young lean helped start of Travis Scott's career largely! He may not being in 30 million monthly listeners, but he's a serious legend and has had and has such a huge influence on music. LOVE YUNG LEAN
One of the coolest reaction channels man. You deserve the huge growth. Just so authentic and it's so cool and interesting to see how you're analyzing the music man
sadboys entertainment includes yung lean as the ”vocalist/rapper” and gud and yung sherman as the producers. drain gang includes bladee, ecco2k and thaiboy digital as the vocalists/rappers or whatever and yung sherman and whitearmor as producers
in a few months after u reacted to some of his songs (and drain gang) it would be cool if you could watch yung leans documentary and maybe stream it as a 20k special or something🙃
Look at ”In my head” documentary. Its in swedish. But With english sub on youtube!!!!!!! Im a swede and a TechnoHead…Grew up With hiphop/rap. That documentary hit me like a truck !!!!..,A must see !
This is what got me into this type of music. At this time, I didn’t even like bladee. It really connected with my youthful recklessness and hunger for individuality. Also sometimes I think your mic peaks, then makes these buzzing popping sounds. Just a heads up, not to nitpick. I know some people go nuts for audio quality, it doesn’t bother me.
It’s so interesting to see your pragmatic approach to music at times, really makes you see things from a different perspective. Coming from an experimental electronic music background, the highly FX’ed intro sounds conventional and aesthetic to me, whereas you asked what’s the point if you can’t understand the lyrics, which is a cool note. The reason I like cloud rap is that it’s the closest to the music I usually listen to. If you want to react to some mindbending experimental hip hop, check Clams Casino - Natural. Clams is the one who started it all. A true legend.
This is the exact reason why I think I was drawn to artists like yung lean, carti and bladee. As a kid I always like electronic music. Nothing really out there but dubstep, melodic dubstep and general EDM. When I started getting into rap when I was 16 it was just the mainstream emo stuff. But once I started looking for what is really out there I was immediately drawn to cloud rap. It just fits the same niche in my mind that electronic music did as a kid
I always interpreted the intro as like going into the universe yung lean is in and he is just constantly rapping so you gradually start to hear him greet you. Smoking weed to this song in 2013 was intense so maybe I’m alone on that haha
Yung Gud, the producer who made the beat is part of the reason why Lean blew up so hard at that time. You should check ginseng strip 2002 by Yung Lean it’s my fav of his and fav beat by gud
Definitely worth having a look at Yung Lean's other tracks as you mentioned. Sadboys, as mentioned by other commenters, are the progenitors of an entire movement of music and their ingenuity is oft forgotten.
This is one of the first songs I heard from Yung Lean back in 2018, and I remember being so in awe of the fact that the song was already almost 5 years old, it seemed so new, fresh. I realised then that everything I'd heard about Lean's influence was true, and I became a huge fan of him.
back in 2015, just when i got into yung lean, i watched video of someone explaining yung leans rap being more of an instrument that adds to the beat instead of being the front of the song. his old stuff really did put me in some sort of trance while listening.
He’s repeating “Ima do me”- the gradual fading in of the lyrics I’ve always interpreted as his thoughts become clearer and clearer- moving from uncertainty to certainty; aka he now knows who he is.
SadBoys are Yung Lean (rapper) Yung Gud (producer) & Yung Sherman (producer). Yung Sherman is also a part of Drain Gang, Bladee, Thaiboy, Ecco2k which are rappers and then Whitearmor and Yung Sherman as producers. But the two groups mix around a lot of the time so you could almost see them as one big group tbf, but not quite at the same time
You should try reacting to the Yung lean documentary on RUclips.Yung lean has one of the most interesting and reflective careers I’ve seen even more then some of the music legends we all know even past generational barriers
It's on the list! I'm a big superhero fan and used to be the game designer for HeroClix and the line developer/editor for the Mutants & Masterminds RPG.

Hopefully that'll be fixed with the new computer. Otherwise a new mic will be acquired!

Praise the leandoer
That clicking/static sound you get in your videos is from a phone/electronic device too close to your xlr cable or audio interface
I wondered about that and have moved the phone away from time to time, but I'll make sure to keep it away and see if it helps. Thank you!
