Styling a Cherry Bonsai (Prunus)

- In this lecture Michael walks us through his decision making process in styling a contorted cherry. To keep the tree healthy and strong, he decides only to make a few cuts and let the tree grow for at least a year. In doing so, he keeps the momentum of the tree going, speeding up the progress made. If he were to style the entire tree now, pruning and detail wiring the branches, it would slow down and need at least a year to recover. Michael also explains how he seals a big wound and discusses the next steps for this tree. This video is a free preview lecture from our Bonsai Intermediate Course 2.

If anyone has any idea on where I could get that specific brand of cut paste, I'd be very interested in buying some. I've heard multiple bonsai professionals swear by it.
Ask Michael from Crataegus bonsai, he will be able to help you out!

Not sure I agree - but I do agree the styling was mild. Michael explains that by spreading out work you keep momentum going much stronger, helping to transform the tree in less time.
