Please calrify if my below understanding is correct in terms of a new company formed with one oil tanker in its fleet
The company draws up a sms and flag does an initial audit and issues interim DOC with 12 months validity.
Sms is placed on board the tanker. Initial audit is done and interim SMC with 6months is issued
after minimum of 3 months flag inspects compliance onboard and issues full SMC.
Following this a full DOC is issued to the company.
Please also calrify if prior issuing a full DOC another audit will be with the company?

You are right with all the information you have. For the DOC, there would a survey at shore and an annual endorsement every year. For SMC, annual is not required, only intermidiate.

SMC is also withdrawn if DOC is withdrawn. Withdrawing of certificate is possible if :
1- intermediate verification is not requested by the company.
2- If there is a major non-compliance with the ISM code.
I will soon make a detailed video of ISM code, covering every element in detail.
