Joined up. Your content is simply amazing. Thanks for all your hard work Dr. Kendall. I've been a professor for 15+ years, neuroscientist and immunologist, and can state emphatically you are a superbly talented teacher and communicator. Bravo!!!!
Welcome aboard! Thanks for your support. I do appreciate it. Maknig this YT channel work full time is a labor of love. It's a culmination of what I started so long ago, and I want to completely remaster all the videos in the entire series.
@@JasonKendallAstronomerIf you do that, I think it would be really helpful to have the year the video was recorded up at the beginning somewhere. Why? Because I just watched a video based on the most recent results of the Hubble telescope which were accurate at the time but no longer are. I forget what it was, not that big deal, but still.
@@JasonKendallAstronomer There is a certain channel where the "content creator" made videos for a year about how Oumuamua was "probably" an alien probe. He has over 400k subscribers and is taken seriously. There is another channel where the owner shares the first name of one of my favorite writers, and he does videos where he blends science fiction with fact by frequently hand waving the impossible away with the vague assumption that some crazy technology that will probably never exist is likely just around the corner. This is literally something I heard in one of his videos: "If the sun starts expanding, we can easily just move the star (goes on to mention ridiculous technology that doesn't exist)." ... and we all know about what happened to the History channel. Kudos for keeping it real.
This channel is a hidden gem. Jason Kendall is the new Carl Sagan. Would love to see him do an updated version of Cosmos and given all the production value he needed.
Joined. I would love to see more content aimed at undergraduate physics majors who have some math under their belt. but that's just me. I'll be looking forward to seeing more from this channel, though. thank you, Dr. Kendell. lastly, totally unrelated, but free Palestine! (from ongoing US-Israeli bombing) ❤ thank you.
Never supported anyone or though I would. But in this case, I didnt think twice. Really the best and most appreciated work on astronomy in youtube. Anton is great too, but these in debth, deep dives into neutron stars, star cores, wast distances, split second physics and how we know what we know so far is just a dream come true from a prrson gazing at the stars as a child and hoping to get these mysteries explained in a good and and scientific way. Thanks alot Mr. Kendall.
I can't afford to join and that's okay (really I can't). Many cheers. The economy is crazy for the foreseeable future. Otherwise this would not be a question. Hope you are doing well.
Thanks for the ask. It's actually Patreon. I have a suggested contribution, but one can up it if you relly like the content. The YT Memberships are a fixed price, and if you stare at the fine print, creators get 70% of the total. I kind of like the interface more with Patreon as well.
Well, I'm never going to make the core courses, especially the long versions members-only. Members will simply get access to early premieres and other things. Basically, right now, since I just started this, I've only moved over the older material to members-only. Don't worry, you'll always be able to see the full course content, and all the lectures without any membership charges.
Come on people, join up and show Dr. Kendall we appreciate his efforts!!!!! Best astrophysics and astronomy channel on YT.

How do you only have 22k subscribers?
Your shit is amazing!
Thanks. Maybe it's because I don't have crazy hair?

Thanks! When I was young, I watched all the original "Cosmos" on the family's color TV every week on PBS. It was an amazing thing to bear witness.

Which one passes more of my money onto the creator, RUclips membership or Patreon?
