Hell yeah me to dude when ever I feel lazy get this man in your ear alof a sudden you are in a battle ground slaying your fears and demons straight to the gym
Snap City is a term coined by the Hodgetwins. It is what they say whenever someone is lifting heavy and what is perceived to be bad form. It makes sense, but then people started saying every person lifting heavy was going to "snap city". So CT is setting the record straight. Saying that you shouldnt be so timid to lift heavy!
I honestly want to get out of SNAP CITY, and move to Muscleville. My fears and sad excuses are what's holding me back. The only motivation I actually have is the frustration, anxiety, and self pity that I have for myself. All of the dissapointment builds up, and I start having this itch to move and do something. With the help of CT Fletcher's videos, the built up stress gets released in my work out. I hope that this drive helps me push to be the best that I can be. And good luck to everyone else
This is amazing. I've never talked trash about people working out but this has made me want to just go to the gym! This man is an amazing motivating human-being.
This is seriously the most motavational thing I have ever heard about being fit in general. I wish I had this at the begining of my workout playlist everyday. This isn't a hobby, it's a lifestyle.
This was one of the best videos that you guys have put out. The music, length of the video were perfect. It all compalment Ct's still very well. I hope to see more soon.
I used to have this memorized and just walk around my buddies house reciting it until they got so pissed off at me they would join me in the gym. Thing is they didn't know the context of it for like six months straight of hearing it. I would do it totally straight faced, so looking back on it from their perspective I was constantly talking mad shit at them, and they had never said a word about lifting. After showing them the video, they loved it so much. Thanks CT
throwback. omg this is the original video, this was the 2nd video of CT I saw back in 2013. I remember watching this video before a 630am shift at safeway. I had to close midnight and work back again 630am so this video helped me to get the energy to go in work sleeping just 5 hours.
My journey is complete... I have found the most ultimate inspirational no nonsense no bullshit all real raw straight to the mothafuckin point coach. All the other youtubers I'm done with yall, this channel is all I need….. Finally
I agree with that too without a doubt. The way I see it, is that CY's impact is all positive. Because we arent looking to him for in deph explanations of physiology, rather the psychological aspect of lifting. The hear and soul of lifting. Hopefully people watch the hodgetwins for humor, CT for inspiration, and then my channel for specific application. And yes I did just plug my own channel in comment but I believe that would be the best of all worlds personally. We all play a role
listen to this on the way to the gym and you'll have a great mindset, hell listen to this shit on replay while you at the fucking gym, I do, and I love it!!!
because you know me so well? and you know i wont be 1/3 as swole as ct when im 50. snap city eventually finds everyone that lifts weights. any seriously lifter will tell you eventually they have been in snap city even if its just for a week or to.. others live a lifetime in snap city. ct was in snap city for about 100lbs of muscle loss then he got out and re started. I dont dislike ct anywayz i like the dudes videos
Jerome, Swervin' On These Streets Me? I wish to live forever, but seeing as that is highly unlikely, yes I would choose a 38-year dream over a century of mediocrity any day. But thats just me.
SNAPCITY isn't about bad form...SNAPCITY is about having a prior injury and surgery to your lower back and finding other exercises to do and staying away from deadlifts. If I had bulging discs in my lower back there's no way I'd be doing deadlifts or squats...even with a belt!
The guy said he had bulging discs in his lower back. That causes pain. If you keep stressing your back a bulging disc can become a herniated disc and that is basically a pinched nerve. The pain of a pinched nerve can travel down to your legs too. The pain of a pinched nerve is nothing you can "work trough". That shit hurts and can make grown men cry like babies! But! It's more "Effort is rewarded" or "hard work pays off" not literal pain! What the fuck do you think a person with a broken arm should work out cause "no pain no gain". Come on Einstein! THINK!
HaasGrotesk I had that to happen to me in Feb.12 2012 I could not walk or stand on my on. I lost 39 pounds in my first to weeks from poor circulation in my left leg and lower back. I was in fear of what I could not do any more run fight in the ring or have sex ever again. Looking at videos like this was all I could do and he is Right fear will keep you down it took me a few months and some time but I am back stronger faster and better I learn how to feed off the the pain and walk away from fear. mitaka4234 Do I think a lower back inj will stop a person from doing deadlifts? probably. Question is do YOU think a torn Bicep muscle will stop a person from doing curls...or will a partially torn ACL or MCL will make a person think twice before running a marathon? Well yeah! And I wasn't saying that I have lower back problems...the Hodgetwins do. They've had surgeries to repair the problem and they still have pain and aggravation dealing with their backs. I wouldn't chance it either...
there is no snap city ? Let me tell a few things. U don't even know the feeling when u do a fucking bath and u cant wash your hair because the shoulders click and hurt. When u avoid pavements because your knee is in pain, when u want to tie your shoe laces and the lower back is about to explode, when you reach to take a fruit and your elbow clicks like a motherucker. That's snap city. RULE NUMBER ONE: Stay safe. Unless you are competing on powerlifting and earn money from this, stay the fuck safe. U don't want surgery on your doorstep.
all my injuries happened within 2 months. I don't know how. It just did. +futurealasd you have to kidding me! you did 5 sets of push ups wrong and you're blaming it on you shoulder pains? tell me exactly how you snapped you body on push ups???
He's right! Snap City is a state of mind because as long as you have it on your mind that you are not trying to get injured, you won't ever be greater than what you are.
Some people can do better than others in certain situations and gain more than some. It’s all about knowing your limitations and what you can push past that point. Only a few can get past what others are afraid of and go further past what others think
(cont) thing is, ive worked out beyond weightlifting, There were a couple years inbetween where i was training boxing and just did calisthenics/plyometrics. ultimately what i do today is a routine tailored to my goals, and ive had better results doing what feels right vs what is proper form or full range of motion when it comes to weightlifting. CT is trippin in this video... Snap City REAL! I threw up 550 Raw on deadlift but failed a raw 600 attempt and further herniated an already injured disc in the same location in my back that Ive had since age 20. There was a time when I could throw up 500 plus for reps on squats during my workouts and rep out heavy deadlifts... those days are over. For those of use who have been in the game a while and have mileage on our bodies you have to find other ways to incorporate making gains in your workouts, or suffer the consequences of compounding serious injuries...
He is speaking about a MENTALITY of laziness that stems from the idea of "over training". To get to your goals you have to push yourself past your limit and work harder than you THINK you can. But at the same time as a professional you have to train the right way. "Train smart, train hard, HAVE NO FEAR".
I snapped my back on deadlifts last week...can't wait till my back gets better so I can correct my form and do more and get stronger.....snap city deez nuts!

But! If there is sufficient cord compression, it can cut off the blood supply to the spinal cord, resulting in permanent nerve damage. Do you know what that means? PARALYSIS!
