    One can dislike this car for whatever reason, but each car of that era is so unique and interesting in its own way. It basically had a virtual cockpit in 2006. I think this is such a cool ride!

    My father swore by these... he loved the first one he bought so much, that he then bought another, used one for his winter "snowbird" home.
    I've always preferred small/subcompact cars, but the number of times I had driven one of his Pacificas, I found it felt much smaller than it actually was. It wasn't until I looked in the rearview mirror that I realized there was another 15 feet of car behind me.

    An interesting fact, there were dealerships up here in Canada that were doing an offer to get these off their hands, by buying one of these, a friend or family member could get a PT Cruiser for literally $1 Canadian. You had to come in to the dealership at the same time though.

      It was derived from Mercedes Benz, that's why it looked cutting edge at the time. But still cheaply made inside and out either way.

    This showed the direction of Chrysler's interiors were going. They got WORSE across the board after this BECAUSE of the Germans.

      I think this was one of the first product to release with the German’s influence. I agree that interior was amazing but shortly after their interiors were lackluster till the 09 Ram but even this was better than that imo.

      This car was released 8 years after the merger and uses a Mercedes instrument cluster... so how gain did Mercedes destroy it?

    It's just funny how they got as far away from the Pacifica's SUV crossover roots as possible by the next generation into it's current one with being nothing but a Minivan.

    I really liked the way the Pacifica looked when it was released. I test drove one in 2007. My goal was to buy it. It was too disappointing to buy. The transmission was rough. It was jerking already.
    I drive a 282,000 mile Dodge now. I've had if for years. The transmission is flawless.

    This could have gone so far, Gen by Gen, if it weren’t for the repeated changing of hands corporate mergers of confusion with CDJR.

      Yea they had a lot of things right here, you can see a little bit of X5 resemblance too. And obviously, RX inspiration. Instead they turn it into a minivan???

    As i always says, the only thing Chrysler is good at id designing beautiful cars because i absolutely loved the exterior and interior of this car, very cool for its time! Sadly plagued with Chrysler problems

    The 3 competitor crossovers mentioned are still around. The Lexus RX is thriving. This thing lasted 5 model years until 2008.

    This, surprisingly, was one of the very few reliable vehicles Chrysler has made since the 80s. Still no Toyota, but you actually see these around on the road every so often, and it held up decently well on CarComplaints. Shame it only lasted for a handful of years, it was pretty nice overall

      That is nonsense. The bits on the Paciffica were shared across the board. It is just as reliable as any of the other D/C creations.

      Lmao, the Pacifica was garbage. It was the early 00's Kia Telluride. Bought by rubes who thought it looked fancy, so was a "better deal" than a Highlander. Then they all broke, lol.

    I had a twin to this. I leased it and it was a really nice car. My only complaint was the dismal fuel economy.

    Let's stop pretending this was a good car. Within 2 years the interior turned to crap and the drivetrain fell apart.

      In a 2003 review they said the interior looked nice but didn’t feel nice, I would believe that being it’s a Chrysler.

      You must’ve never owned one. We had one and it lasted 8 years 160K (rusty and falling apart) quality isnt great on the long run.

    I agree that’s a good looking CUV, especially the interior, that back though is kinda awkward. No rly, it’s of my favorite interiors from Chrysler, it’s very beautiful, unique, and even menacing.

    They were supposed to make another generation of this and Fiat at the last minute cancelled this and invested in a platform that only AR can and have mostly used.

      Not really, considering the 1st gen GMC Acadia came out 3 years later, similar in its design mission, but unfortunately, just as unreliable. Don’t see many 2007-17 Acadia/Traverse/Enclave or 08-10 Saturn Outlooks left.

    These were huge flops; they lasted like 5 model years and then were cancelled.
    I remember a neighbour had one, they had to get rid of it after 50,000 km because it had lot of faults!

      They sold 400k of them between 2004-2008-1/2. And most saw 200k plus miles. Not a barn burner then but by todays standards, those are healthy numbers

    Nice car, fully loaded, low front end to cheap the bottom pieces always falls off. Then that transmission! Should of put a Toyota engine and transmission.

      Poor? These were a massive flop!
      Chrysler tried but with 5 model years they failed to sell any at all…
      Think total sold was 64,000 or something like that.
      In comparison the Honda odyssey sold 140,000 within 2 years of the same model years.
      One of my neighbours owned one of these, they got rid of it after 3 years and 50,000 km
      Had engine faults!

    I gotta give it huge credit for having such a bad ass and very futuristic yet still very modern looking digital lcd display that’s nicely integrated into the normal gauge area…very modern looking indeed, even for today(2day being the 1st day of 2025) too bad everything else, including the exterior screams boring!!

    I personally think it to be quite ugly along with a lot of other Chrysler products of this era. The Pacifica did not age well at all. The Ram and the 300 were the best looking cars from Chrysler of this era imo.

    This car and the Acura zdx were ahead of their times. Considering that Chrysler sells only one vehicle, there seems to space for such a vehicle again.

    My dad had a 2005 Pacifica and it was super unreliable and had lots of electrical and mechanical issues. It also left my family stranded 6 times within 5 years and all of them were on road trips.

    Engine mounts, transmission mounts, engine, water pump- which was located inside the engine - piece of junk. Dodge/Chrysler make the absolute worst vehicle.

    What's crazy is Fiat renamed the town and country to the name of a failed, poorly made, gas guzzler, unreliable, and very ugly CUV
    This and the traverse from Chevy are the two last reliable families cars of the modern era
