- Опубликовано: 12 сен 2024
- In this video I will put together a flight of my top peated single malt scotch from the past 6 months. Taste them blind and let you know what bottle I like the best. The bottle I like most will be crowned the champion!
Flight giveaway:
Winner will receive 8 2oz samples of peated scotch.
You must be 21 years of age or older to win.
Age verification will be needed to accept the giveaway.
U.S. participants only.
Shipping address must be in the US. I can't ship outside of the United States.
Every $5.00 super chat donation will earn you 1 entry into the giveaway.
Giveaway will open on March 29, 2024 and end at 11:59pm on April 3rd, 2024.
Winner will be announced on April 5th, 2024 during my First Friday Flight Fight video and posted in the comments of this video.
The winner of the flight will need to contact me by email at faspete@yahoo.com or you can DM on Instagram at whiskey_is_a_journey
If I don't hear from the winner by April 12, 2024 the flight giveaway will be void and another person will be selected.
If you win you can choose from any of the offerings from the previous peated scotch videos in the series. You don't have to have the exact peated flight presented in this video. It's your money and I want you to select the peated scotch bottles you want...not the bottles I picked.
Octomore 13.2 will be automatically included into the flight and not count as one of the seven samples won.
Good luck and thanks for supporting the channel.

Hurray! Thanks, Peter! I can't believe I won! I see my great whisky friend, Robert Sheard, in the comments! He's been a wealth of whisky knowledge in my (new) whisky journey. I'm excited to receive the samples and I'll email you later this evening with all the shipping information and maybe just one or two substitutions. Thanks again for a great giveaway! Cheers!! 🥃
You are very welcome. Pick some good ones! Looking forward to see what you select so I can judge you. 🤣 Kidding. Congratulations.
So you really can't go wrong with the Ardbeg 10 or the Uigeadail. The fact that they're readily available (compared to the others) makes them the winners in my view. Great line up, thanks Peter 🥃
Agreed. It's so much nicer when a good bottle is available. Cheers!
Loved this whole series Peter. Thanks for putting out such great content. I appreciate your candid take regardless of the price, it's refreshing. Happy to support and throw my hat in the ring for the flight! Cheers!
Thank you. I appreciate the support. It has been a great 6 months of pouring, tasting, and ranking all these different types of whisk(e)y. I have you down for 1 entry. Good luck.
I would love to get more into peated scotch, so a sampling would be perfect. Keep up the excellent content! Go Guardians 😉
I've got you in for 1 entry. I was born in Cleveland moved to AZ in 78. I was a fan until the Diamondbacks were established. Now I have to root for the home team. Best of luck!
Yay, Ginny! Ginny's my KY whisky buddy and she's just getting into whisky this year. This is terrific.
Nice! I was going to ask you if you knew her. Are you going to help her pick her flight?
@@whiskeyisajourney Yes, Ginny finds bottles in Lexington I can't find here and then I collect them on my next visit to the Bourbon Trail. Last time she visited me, I had her try several bottles from my collection and she did NOT like the peat. 😂 (She's an experienced wine taster.)
The comment that I deleted I got mixed up. I thought she won the peated scotch flight. My mistake. I hope she picks a banger flight. There are a lot of good bottles to choose from in the series.
What an amazing lineup! Happy to see the Uigeadail did so well.
Nice flight Peter!
Ardbeg 10 was the whisky that started me on my whisky journey and it did better than I was expecting!
Over the last year my two favorite peat styles have become Kilchoman and Ledaig, both of which I didn’t like much when I first tried them.
I am liking both of those as well. Looking forward to more Kilchoman. They have good distribution in AZ, but unfortunately Ledaig does not. I was impressed how high Ardbeg 10 finished in this flight.
Interesting outcome on this one-surprised the peat on the Octomore didn't overpower the others more. Congrats on 7k!
Thank you William. I appreciate the support. I have you down for 2 entries. Best of luck! The peat on the Octomore is definitely there, but the balance of it does not overpower the other flavors of the whisky. You get more than just peat. Cheers!
Just trying the Uiagdel now! its very nice, i need to do a tasting between the uiagdal and the port charlotte for my top whiskey now! cheers
They are both winners! Cheers!
I love peated Whiskey and was not surprised that the Octomore came out on top!....I really dont get the Ardbeg 10 though i just cant get away with it... think my next purchase will be the uiagdel ardbeg to try, cheers
I think you will be happy with the Uigeadail. I think it has a lot of depth. Cheers!
Had a feeling that Octomore might take it but honestly wouldn't have been suprised if the Ardbeg 10 came in 1st ALWAYS on my shelf.
Ardbeg 10 is definitely a constant on my shelf. Cheers and thanks for supporting the channel...again. I have you down for 1 entry. Best of luck!
Recently I’ve had comarison between Ardbeg 10, 5, an an oa and Port Charlotte 10. Woow it was a bomb being my first time in real peated whiskies. Turns out Port Charlotte 10 comes up top. I always enjoy you videos, keep it up! 🎉
I can see Port Charlotte 10 winning that flight. It's a fantastic bottle. Cheers!
Only have the Ardbeg 10 and different Octomores.
Definitely love the Octomores.
To me the Octomore is the cream of the crop when it comes to peated scotch. I don't say this much about expensive bottles, but I will pay the price they are asking for them in my area. Cheers!
I popped in for a Kilkerran HP review, & stayed for the finals😋🥃 Cheers Peter & all.
Thanks and I hope you enjoyed it. Cheers!
Ardbeg 10 was the one that got me into peat, so I have Ardbeg in a special place in my heart. Slàinte Peter!
I was happy with how well the 10 did in this flight. Cheers!
Turns out you were right, it's your favorite!
If you've tried several Octomores which ones?
I have the 11.1, which I'm underwhelmed by, an unopened 10.2, and a 14.3 which is amazing. I've also tried the Ten year old from 2008 at a bar which blew me away.
I have the 13.1, 13.2, and 13.3. I like the 13.2 the most. I have not had any other Octomores other than these.
Thank you again for supporting the channel. I have you in for 2 entries. Good luck!
great final
Thank you! I had fun in all of these finals. Cheers!
Thanks! And as an FYI on the off chance I win: I’m in Chandler so we can meet instead of shipping. Also my last name is pronounced with a long ‘i’ - like spizeman
Perfect! I got you down for 1 entry. Good luck and thank you for supporting the channel. Cheers!
Peat is my thing so I have my fingers crossed.
I have you in for 2. 🤞🤞 Thanks again for your support. Best of luck and cheers!
Dig your channel man. I'm fairly new to whiskeys and am really enjoying the journey!
Thanks! I hope you keep getting value out of it. I appreciate the support. I have you down for 2 entries. Good luck!
All 5 are winners in my book and could switch positions on a daily basis. If you like peat you’d want all 5 on your permashelf.
I agree. These will always have a place on my shelf. Cheers!
Ok so put the Uigeadail against the Port Charlotte and the Uigeay is definitely better! my new favourite whiskey!.....will do a blind next just to confirm......have you tried the cornevyken yet? cheers
I have that match up in my blind samples now. I have not had the Cornevyken yet. I keep walking by it thinking I should buy it, but I keep walking by it. 🤔
I was on vacation for the last drawing so put a little more on this one! Fingers crossed!
Much appreciated Carlos! I hope you had a great vacation. Best of luck! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞I have you in for 5 entries.
Thanks!
Again...wow! Thanks for the support Kirk. Best of luck. I have you down for 4 entries. 🤞🤞🤞🤞
@@whiskeyisajourney of course man 🙌🏼
Like the book from the leaky house in Fight Club, I am Tony's raging envy. Congrats to the winner.
Seriously, great flight.
I will be interested to see what she picks for her flight. Same with the peated flight. I'm curious to see what their palates gravitate towards.
@@whiskeyisajourney me too.
Fantastic series, Peter. Congrats on 7K incoming.
Thank you Robert. 7000! I can't believe it, but I'll take it. It's been a wild ride. Thanks for supporting the channel and I have you down for 1 entry. Good luck!
I don’t understand what Springbank 18 is doing there, it’s barely peated.
It won the round it was in with the other 18 year old peated scotches so I had to move it onto the finals. Since barely peated is still a "type" of peated scotch I had to put it in. But I completely understand what you are saying. At times I can barley notice the peat and especially in this fight the peat note was lost among the others.
I've never tried any Octomore expressions but Uigeadail is one of my favorite whiskeys, great review Peter, best regards.
Thanks! I figured that the Uigeadail would give the Octomore a run for its money and it did. If you get a chance to try and Octomore I highly suggest it. Cheers.
Thanks!
Good luck Orlando. I have you in for 2 entries. Cheers and thanks for supporting the channel.
