    Ive done countless high profile projects and have had clients related to film making, production and more.
    This is by far one of the best short films I have seen being made in India. Perfect combination of humor, good cinematography and amazing background score!
    But true to it's word should be taken as a joke, it also somehow uplifts a hidden fact in the Beauty and Grooming sector in India. All these 'Salons & Spas' in the country claim to have professionals but none of them are. The haircuts given are not always the best, even from the outlet of Toni & Guy.
    When I travelled to Australia and the Eruopean continent, most salon and expert barbers were shocked to know Indian Salons use 'Volume Scissors' to it's max effect and have most of the guys look the same with front driven sides and sort of spiked fronts.
    Its a rip off here!!
    No pun to the short film. Its simply OUTSTANDING !

    I really feed sad about this short movie and don't know why people are finding it hilarious! The movie shows how an ordinary common man can't fit in this dominating world. Yes it is the reality. And I believe most of us must have faced it in some point of our lives.

    This reminds me of a time when I was 14 and went to buy the Domino's Pizza for the first time. For a lower middle class family specially in late 90s and early 00s, pizza is considered as a rich people's food.
    So I was very excited for having a taste of it. When I saw the menu, the only thing I could afford is the one with the lowest price which is just a bread with some oragano sprinkled on it without any toppings(yes, not even onion or capsicum or even cheese). I ended up ordering that. On the top of that, the Dominos' guy lured me into buying extra half litre Pepsi.
    That total cost us around 175/- which was a big deal for us.
    My mom got furious when I brought that peice of bread at home. Our family of 4 literally ate just a slice of that useless pizza.
    Uske baad humne kasam khaayi ke kabhi Dominos ka pizza nhi khaayenge..😭

Well, I used to cut my hair for 400 Rs but now I go to an ordinary salon who only charges 40 Rs and is more or less the same in cutting quality. Bought expensive things just to look classy only to not like them or use them after. But the humble things i got would last me and serve me forever.
    Another example is, during my college years i would go to expensive cafes but nothing would match the humble chai wala's tea at the bus depot. It was really a lesson in life. Although something in us will forever love gaining more and more

    Salons today have grown tremendously and have increased competition. Gone are the days when you had your REGULAR barber at your REGULAR salon!! It is surely expensive to get a haircut these days but the service we get is much more than what it was before the commercialized salon trend started. I believe this film is a good integration of what one believes to be a hair cut and what haircuts have become these days! its become more of STYLE than necessity.. Loved the actor! great job!!

      earlier haircut was done by a barber, but now we have a stylist...
      so that makes it costly

      Siddharth Joshi The cost of a haircut in an average saloon in Chennai is about Rs 30. You can add another zero to it if you want to go to an upmarket saloon. But most people are content with the quality of work done for Rs 30. Sensible people would probably avoid going to such upmarket saloons unless they are keen on showing to the whole society where they stand on the social ladder.

    This short film gives a big message;
    1) don't get attracted to the fancy things or something that is shining from outside..all tht shines is not gold. There is no harm in being little desi or old school. 2) everyone has a different kind of life & financial status, upbringing etc, don't try to copy lifestyle of others. Live in REALITY. REALITY is if a rich person is spending 1000/-rs a day it's nothing for him..but for a poor person it's a big thing..he cud have used tht 1000rs in so many other ways to make him happy. He was not even getting respect at this salon. He ended up being frustrated. That's the reality.

    After my trip to Germany I got hAir cut at road side saloon at juhu and that was way better quality than what I got at Frankfurt for payment of 12 euros. After experiencing his art, I paid tip of as much money as he was charging for hair cut and yet it was way cheaper than 12 €. Salaam to these artists at roadside shops.

    • @VinayShekhar
      @VinayShekhar 7 лет назад +4

      In all fairness, the 12€ haircut you got in Germany is equivalent to the roadside barbershop of India. That's the cheapest you can get (+/- 2€) in Germany. If you want to compare the kind of saloon you see in the video here, it would easily cost you between 40 and 100 € in Germany.

    • @nvHumanist
      @nvHumanist 7 лет назад +1

      Vinay Shekhar but still it'll never be as good as the roadside one. Neither my husband nor myself have never got the haircut that we wanted in US. I guess it must be same in Germany.

    • @VinayShekhar
      @VinayShekhar 7 лет назад +3

      N Vishnum, to be honest, I find the concept of street corner haircut to be highly romanticized. First of all, I'm never satisfied with my haircut irrespective of where I get it done and how much I pay. I just hate looking at myself after a haircut. ;)
      Secondly, I don't know what's so great about blunt knives and unsanitized equipments. I always feel icky with the quality of the equipments used. Maybe a lot of people are used to it but I'm not. So I can't relate to your experience.

    • @nvHumanist
      @nvHumanist 7 лет назад

      Vinay Shekhar yep agree nothing is sanitized but they are so professional or have the exper time and understand what we want. Here in USA how much ever you tell them they don't understand. You will get one yucky haircut.

    • @AyushSingh-yt6fi
      @AyushSingh-yt6fi 7 лет назад

      Vinay Shekhar actually the right cut comes up after a fortnight of your haircut. Hence the dissatisfaction right after the haircut. Also... Check out a video about haircut with fire. That'll help you with the sanitisation problem 😅
