been watching SC2 tournaments casually for a few years now, have been a Maru fan since IED 2015 taipei. little dude sure has brought a lot of hype into these games, with his early agression style, clutched micro, i even belive he has to do with the fact that the word "cheese" is rarelly used anymore. which is awsome, seems like they finally accepted it as fundamental part of the game. Sure, he is not the only one doing it, but he sure carries the flag. I mean, the little dude opens with proxi and then goes into an intense 20minute back and forth into late game... that is amazing.
Ravens getting the axe again... Blizzard looked at the IEM KatoWice top 16 and said "Dude, only 2 terrans out of 16 players... Better nurf terran again"
Hmm turtle to extream than shut out 5 ravens that can AOE an entire army. Btw late game for both Zerg and pro is very slow moving. There were three unit types and ravens AOE them all to death. That is broken.
The only complaint is the casters. Not because they're bad, not at all, it's that their voices are very similar and they're sometimes quite difficult to tell apart, especially when they're shouting.
I remember like two weeks into WoL being told by terrans in bronze league that zerg was OP after I beat them on the ladder, glad to see that things haven't changed
Looking at that -armor missles ( instant cast, hits 99% of the time ) they seem to be OP... Zerg infestors had instant cast and it was changed because it looked op... something got to change now with that missles and imo it looks really ugly to have orange color of units affected by the rockets... it takes the beauty of the details in units
ling bane flood is how you beat maru. lings are quick enough to respond to multi base harrass and its a cheap army you can continually cycle through. Maybe add some corruptors if he has alot of air. but the secret is to keep the zerg army cheap and resupply quickly. nothing like watching banelings flank and decimate. big expensive brood lords are not worth it.
Wow terran won the massive infestors + brood lords + corruptors gang. the only unit not used is vipers, which always kills the terran ground mech late game. vipers not useful to yank those ravens?
Wow, a Terran player who actually knows what to do late game vs. Zerg. I'm so used to seeing Serral use these spell caster tactics against protoss and terran. It's nice to finally see the tables turned and a Terran coming out on top. Perhaps the other Terrans simply don't have the tactical finesse and apm to do what Maru is able to do. While TY looked like he was super fast and precise, his decision making seemed to be inferior to Maru when it comes to TvZ. (That and Rogue is probably a fair bit better than Solar at this matchup.)
You beat Maru by harassing his minerals with mutas, while having land army protecting your own bases/minerals and well placed static defense to protect against air on minerals. Get ahead on economy and send in waves at opportune times on his expansions while still having mutas attacking other expansions.
