I like the results you have achieved by using a small Gelli Plate. I created a rather large Gelli Plate. After watching your demonstration I plan to add a small plate. Robyn, your work is spectacular, thank you for sharing your talent with us.
I really love your style. You have a unique artistic voice. At the risk of you thinking I'm really weird, I just have to say, I think you were some kind of record keeper or recorder of your people's history in a past life. Your work really flows from your soul. Tfs. 🌸
What a compliment! I've always felt the connection to being a repository of oral tradition of the past. It's funny that you should share that and I'm so glad you risked your feeling of being weird :) because I noticed your moniker during your recent comment and sensed a kindred spirit....lol for 30+ years I've identified myself as an Archaeomythologist and have an art studio titled Arteological with and ongoing program in my Studio School called ArtMythos: So naturally I was drawn to your identifier :)
So cool. Digging up the treasures of wisdom that lie deep within, from those who came before is everything to some of us. I'm really glad to see you back! Your art and videos tap that primal cord to create something powerful that we leave behind for others after we're gone. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next. Have a great day Robyn. 🌸
Btw, a while back, your intuitive writing inspired me to develop an alphabet based on symbols. I did a couple videos called symbol art or something. I mention you because I bought my deckled edge ruler and uhu glue based on your work. You have a positive impact that is much needed in this world. Keep up the great work. 🌸
The black and gold feathered arrangement with the paper print looks like a beautiful small purse prototype design for a catwalk! I have a box of my own handmade papers i just got out of storage where they had been for twenty years! In perfect condition, while a red wool coat was nothing but tatters. i am finding lots of older art projects and wanting to pick up printing now.
Absolutely love your gelli plate videos..I have been watching you for years and I always learn something new everytime which had definitely elevated my art🤗..believe me I was oooing and ahhhing when you pulled those prints mmmm m💖💖💖..as always Thank You for sharing your beautiful art and wonderful techniques😍😁🤗
That pod might be from a manzanita tree. I'm here in Phx too and have one behind my property. I may be painting pods now and doing more found items with my work. xo
Hi Robin, another great video! Thanks for sharing it. Beautiful work as always. A nice creative kick starter. And I like your term “walk away.” It is more appropriate and certainly more gentle than “take away,” which seems so aggressive.
Oh thx Susan for saying, I love sharing and the community we're creating here. It's time to have a gentler walk among all the aggression in the world, right? :)
I am so wowed and inspired by your videos, Robyn! You mention your fabric bundles (including your handmade paper) in this one... would love to purchase some. How to go about it?
Love your work and am experimenting as you suggest. I also recommend using newsprint to print on. It has a great raw texture and color and does well with collage. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!!!
I love to gel print on newsprint. It’s also great if you want an aged look. I’ve left it in the summer sun with a little water. Wrinkles and ages nicely.
Hi Robyn, new subs here! 🙂 Thanks a lot for this, I'm a newbie in Gelli printing and your videos are helping me mastering the various techniques. Your creations are splendid. Thanks a lot! 🙂💖🙌
I sure wish I was home with my gelli plates and acrylic paints. But we are in Florida snowbirding it!!! Could not fit all my art supplies in the RV, so left the acrylic paints at home. Love your work Robyn!!!
As usual I loved these.. I was watching and thought the folded brown paper would look stunning with a red wax seal in the middle-would make it look like an ancient Chines manuscript ! Do you have a link for the brown paper? I'm guessing it's rice paper ? I got a kick out of hearing you say you studied Anthropology and Archaeology in college- I was an Archaeology/Art major back in my college days and ended up in Law Enforcement... go figure ! Thanks for all the great work you share :)
Hi Robyn, in this video you mention people purchasing your paper "bundle" - I'm just wondering where the link is or how to get on your list? Is that just for your patreon group? (I plan on signing up for that!). Just wondered if there was a link to be able to purchase from you. Thank you!
Do you have any tips on where to start making handmade papers, there are so many different ideas about what is right and wrong, especially what types of paper to use.
Yes I do! Often I source vintage frames because I like the additional layer that the aged frame adds. I do love shadow box frames because of the dimensional pieces I add. Thx for viewing the video! :)
I just found your videos and just love your style and how you use the Gelli plates. Now I'm consuming them and will look at your Patreon. I tried to figure out the gold/bronze paint color you are using from Golden. Can you give the full color name? Many thanks, Terry
I haven't yet because it requires for me to set up a pretty intensive studio space for that process alone...however I do get a lot of requests for it so I'm working on making that happen :)
hi Robyn, just discovered you. i used facilitate drop-in paper-making at a church, years ago! We almost started a papermaking co-operative, which would have been so cool, but alas, it fell through. we had a pretty simple setup. Some basins amd a few of the frames. everyone shared. i used to bring in little snips of silk, from an art quilt I was working on at the time. It was so much fun. the quilt was called water garden and was based on yhe idea of a forgooton pond/ garden belonging to a ruined villa, that had been abandoned long enough it has restored itself. so, kindred spirits, I think. I feel like we have a lot of shared loves and visions. Thanks for all your work.
Hi Jocelyne, where in the South of France do you live? I'll be in Durfort next week leading an Art Retreat :).... To answer your question, I use a lot of different brands...Mostly FolkArt/Plaid and Martha Stewart craft paints mixed with Golden paints and more recently Arteza paints have worked incredibly well with the Gelli plate... Check the video on the paints here ruclips.net/video/-q8otX5WTSg/видео.html
That’s Chinese New Years paper. It represents money and is burned to send it off to life after death, maybe so deceased relatives have money. I think the papers are also buried with the dead.
You make me want to make things. Your joy in happy discoveries is infectious. Thank you.
Your papers are just lovely, Robyn! 😊

I just came across your Chanel, your prints are awesome😍
Thanks Suellen and Welcome! :)
Irriedescent bronze separates into gold and turquoise as it settles if you put it in a jar mixes with water or matte medium. Just FYI.
Simply beautiful... I need to get some better paper. Any recommendations?
So beautiful! Can I ask what size gelli plate that is and where to purchase it? Thanks for all the beautiful teachings. Feeling blessed🤗

do you frame your collages? This b&w w the gold pod seems like would look gorgeous in a shadow box?

Do you happen to remember where in Australia you purchased the black paint and does it have anything on the back?
