😂 All the comments triggered by his Yoko Ono take. He wasn’t saying you have to like Yoko Ono’s music. He was saying people who completely disregard it’s artistic merit are shallow and closed minded. I personally dislike a lot of classic rock, but I can appreciate the technical ability, storytelling, and singing in a lot of songs. Yoko Ono was well versed in Japanese Imperial Court music, Gagaku. This style used a quavering voice to imbue heavy emotion into the singing. She mixed some of her traditional influences with western music in a radical way that was pretty experimental. If you don’t personally like how the experiment turned out that’s fine. But don’t dismiss her work entirely.
The point of the Yoko thing was to just write her off without actually listening to her and just saying she’s bad because that’s the mainstream (I think she is not that good)

Nah, he’s just saying if someone’s only opinion of Yoko Ono is just that she can’t sing, then they aren’t aware of the influence she had in the music world, so their music interest is relatively surface-level, rather than being deeper in the sense of “behind the scenes” stuff so to speak. Doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate art and also dislike Yoko Ono, but at least acknowledge what she did in the music scene
Okay, hear me out. At the very least, Yoko Ono offered John Lennon a door into some truly crazy music shit. If he had done two drone and shriek albums with him we would still be listening to them. Every resource was available for any kind of enlightenment journey and that was Lennon's professed goal. And he said no and kept doing what had worked before for him. And it sucked. Yoko was terrible but nobody was better equipped to handle her weird shrieking musical career in some way than John Lennon and he just chose not to. He did absolutely nothing about it. It's a really weird decision if you ask me
When people tell the internet to not meme something, especially like the media. It's like a challenge, all bets are off, sleeves rolled up and Eurobeat intensifies. The short answer is no. The long answer is no, because if someone tells you to never press a button, you will.
Donald Glover definitely knew that it would happen, he saw what happened with redbone. If anything I think he expected it and that's one of the reasons why he took Jim Carey's facial expressions as an influence, and the popular dances that can be edited to go to other tracks, and does it in such an exaggerated fashion. henri crousteau the fact that he uses a numeric scale, however justified by personal taste, does not give him credit to make an argument
The point that you made at 5:40 is something that I am starting to realize and I am glad you were able to articulate it so well.
LETS ARGUE: Fortnite is only popular because it’s free.
Russell Wilson this is true. Without it being f2p there isn't nearly the amount of people playing.
There was in fact a time when art and science were held in high regard while also being understood by the same minds. Leonardo Da vinci, Socrates, Diogenes, plato just to name a few. Not to mentions the legends of Orpheus the lyrical or his progeny. Men who aspired to be as just and humble as the story of Heracles. Now we seem to applaud those with the ability to sell themselves by captivating an audience with ridicules antics.
Cilvia Demo was better than Control System tho
Preston Jarrett ^
WRONG
3:42 "Oh, you like numbers? How about four? As in 'four-k you!'" -Yahtzee Croshaw
Well America is a meme sooo
I was eating food and almost choked and fuckinh died when you said "Or your head is fucked."
but isaiah rashad IS the second best member
Xander Reimers yeah
10:28 Anthony getting off to be that heckler in 20 years
Here's a question: wtf is the message of "This is America" besides bad shit happens and no one cares
Person: commenters on Anthony fantano videos
Butterfly: decent to strong 7.
Commenter: is this a DAMN?
0:19 This Is America memes arn't bad
2:05 Yoko Ono was the most influential writer/performer of her generation
2:51 Sunn O))) is an edgier version of Earth
3:42 Making reviews one numerical rating is unfair
4:58 Who cares about Elon Musk/Grimes?
6:23 Isaiah Rashad is the 2nd best member of TDE behind Kendrick
6:36 Lil Peep's death should've been a wakening call for mumble rappers
7:54 I miss your older self
8:34 You're too soft on mainstream trap
Memes will be memes
Fressh Don't let your memes be dreams.
I love this segment, your opinion, while I don't actually agree on everything, is always so well put and very compelling.
You're very articulate, it's very pleasant to hear you speak of stuff. :)
If you need to ask if memes are wrong, you've already shown you don't understand the internet.
Also, Yoko Ono's music is utter garbage. Bite me, lol.
God I wish Fantano was on the youtubers react to this is America memes. Besides Anthony Padilla the rest gave awful takes basically whining about how you shouldn’t be able to have fun or laugh at a joke if it’s about a touchy subject. The memes most time aren’t even making fun of the subject matter.
Yoko Ono, Lil Pump, Cardi B, Kanye West, Lou Reed... Anthony's music taste in a nut shell.
'If you really want to tell if someone's appreciation of art doesn't run that deep ask if they like Yoko Ono'- as if all people who have magical 'special insight' into 'taste' like her LOOOOL
You’re gonna regret sleeping on Zay Rashad. Sun’s Tirade is a great album
GTaylor33 ^
Okay, hear me out. At the very least, Yoko Ono offered John Lennon a door into some truly crazy music shit. If he had done two drone and shriek albums with him we would still be listening to them. Every resource was available for any kind of enlightenment journey and that was Lennon's professed goal. And he said no and kept doing what had worked before for him. And it sucked. Yoko was terrible but nobody was better equipped to handle her weird shrieking musical career in some way than John Lennon and he just chose not to. He did absolutely nothing about it. It's a really weird decision if you ask me
Alt-rightony Opiniontano here spreading the word of memeing This is America.
During the Sunn O))) and Earth segment I really thought he was discussing a celestial body jacking another celestial body's steez.
You can meme anything it’s in the constitution
1:42 when some one starts joking about the integrity of the star wars prequels script
9:21 ........NOT death metal .........
When people tell the internet to not meme something, especially like the media.
It's like a challenge, all bets are off, sleeves rolled up and Eurobeat intensifies.
The short answer is no.
The long answer is no, because if someone tells you to never press a button, you will.
Its not wrong to make memes about This Is America, it feels a little bit weird to see them for some reason

Its because they’re not f u n n y
Donald Glover definitely knew that it would happen, he saw what happened with redbone. If anything I think he expected it and that's one of the reasons why he took Jim Carey's facial expressions as an influence, and the popular dances that can be edited to go to other tracks, and does it in such an exaggerated fashion. If anything he welcomes sampling and remixing the video into other things as he knows that people, he knows the influence of the internet and what editing a video can do for his own gain.
Melon
Lets argue : Black Sabbath is better than the Beatles
Abso fucking lutely
They both among the five most influential bands of all-time. Ozzy was influenced by The Beatles, Metallica, Megadeth & any metal band was influenced by Black Sabbath. Even Born Again is more influential than any Saxon, Nickelback, Dying Fetus or Guns N Roses will be. (Zero the Hero vs. Paradise City)...
Drew that’s just common sense
I dont think they’re comparable
That's like comparing Run the Jewels to Radiohead, They're completely different.
