I saw that article. I picked up my ‘01 for $4K at 150k miles. The 2j is just so strong that I’m near 200k miles now and it doesn’t feel any different. Of course I’ve had to do more maintenance but it’s never let me down (fingers crossed)
Blame Mercedes Benz and gov. officials. ;) On the other hand, there would be a serious "drought" on JDM vehicles without Murican 25 years rule in place because cars are cheap to run in Murica, even powerful ones and importing isn't that expensive compared to Europe. :)
U can also get an Awd version but with a 4AT. Unfortunately never came with the 3Sge with the 6mt on the Gita. Only the 1gfe with the 6mt. Ive owned all 3 versions of the Gita and the 2jz rwd with the lsd is best to own. With regards to the hatch its actually aluminum so its not rust but aluminum corrosion.
$850-900 even with shipping thats a bargin and its not even broken in at 50k (thats around 38k miles)(100k kilometers is equal closely to 60k miles). I think the Altezza is better looking then the Lexus Is300
Hey Derek, Any advice for someone trying to start a dealership as someone who'd be buying cars from auction brokers like you and reselling them in Canada?
The parts you begin mentioning from 2:46 are actually functional (if placed in the right spot), not including the shark fin on the roof though, they're the Silence scheme 2642, suppose to be placed at the B pillar and between the side mirror and the body, to reduce the wind noise, Toyota has started to put this design into their new cars. But for the case of this Gita, I agree it doesn't serve their purpose. www.amon.jp/products2/detail.php?product_code=2642
Nobody gets the trunk area right on these cars. The trunk floor has 3 different modes and in this car it was set to mode 2. The floor has a standard higher position. Then if you fold the legs under the floor you can put it into the lower position which this one was set to. Then you can remove the floor entirely to get even more space. He also didn't mention how the passenger side seat turns into a table. Not sure if the Japanese version has the subwoofer but the US versions have a Subwoofer in the trunk area as well.
between inland transit, loading, shipping, a/c taxes, deregistratiom, registation in Canada, inspection, duty, and taxes. It's a whole lot more than $1000 to import. Basically count on $4K ontop of the car cost no matter what.
I want a RWD japanese car here in Germany and there is really no alternative..... there are a Few IS200 1GFE 155 hp gitas but there are no sedans and no other cars, well theres the 350Z but i cant afford that. Being a JDM guy in Germany is Hard *and* Expensive. Especially since Petrol prices are so damn high and our stupid government wants to kill the (Combustion) car scene...
Timeless design. Great interior and great engine

In english measurement, this wagon has only 33,750 miles, roughly.

Great review, missed the best part! The passenger seat flips forward into a table! You only get that on the wagons!
I use mine all the time when I’m on break during work😂
Power of sound

@@SupramanTRD The US got stuck with those fat 5mph bumpers that ruin the look of the car.

Ey, the Runx in the front!

Ngl, it looks fricking sick
I need the front differential and front crossmember for a JCE15/AS300.

That is a lot of dank automobile for under $1000 USD.
Wish they made a 4WD manual version.

The rule for Canada is 15 years.

@@PacificCoastAuto Ah I understand. Your accent is hardly noticable
Thats dirt cheap. How much a new car cost over there with similar spec as USA car?
tehsin hussain The American version of this car usually goes for $10,000USD with around 180,000-200,000kms

Oh a dashboard minidisc player.... wait a dashboard minidisc player!??
Yes, very common back then during the post CD/tape days
How rare is this compared to the IS300 Sportcross?
In Japan they're a bit more common. But there are 1GFE and 2JZ powered Gitas. So finding the right one is a bit more difficult. I have two of them.
does it even cost a grand to import to canada?
