+Noah Weisbrod well to be fair... where Dr. Balanced is an aggressive play, scarab is a very defensive play and it was clearly more focused on arena than anything else. Just like cursed blade would never see any real constructed play, it would see plenty of arena play.

I built a casual constructed Taunt Warrior deck for my quests. It does really well. Was running 2 Obsidian Warriors in but that would make the deck a bit slow in the current meta so I now just run 1. I definitely like this card and I'm waiting for it to live to its potential.

Reminds me of the time I faced a warrior in arena, with two death's bites, Gorehowl, and three obsidian destroyers. And I queued against him twice.

warrior is my favorite class in arena due in large part to this card. this card could be a legendary imo
I would say an epic, not a leg for sure
imo there should be a 10 mana legendary version, like one of the unique uldum mobs in wow with this model. either it's 10 mana for 10/10 and summons the same mobs, or it's 10 mana for 8/8 and summons 2/3 scarabs or 1/1 scarabs with divine shield. that way it's not so powerful that every deck would use it, but it's good enough that it's worth using all your mana for an entire turn on. that's a big problem with some of the 10/10s in my eyes, like they'd be great if you could combo them with certain spells or taunts but they end up having no impact a lot of the time because you need a ton of coins, innervates etc. to combo them. this card basically works as its own combo, so if it had stats to match a 10 mana card it would really work as one.

I ran this card with a few Varian Wrynn and a few other legendaries, when/if Wrynn can pull one of these out it can be quite fun.
Any help?? I stopped playing Hearthstone a little while after the 'Grand Tournament Expansion' came out due to work taking up far too much time, but I would like to get back into it... I was just wondering how much might have changed since then i.e. meta shift, new cards I should be aware of etc. Anyone's response to this would be most appreciated, thank you.

I've seen this card used against me in Constructed, and it actually makes me want to play Taunt Warrior. But the only 2 times I've seen it, it didn't even swing the game much at all. Benefits of Dude Paladin ;)

+hossen alyazgi yes!! Mr. smart-aleck, yes it's a hat. But Is a simple toque or something like the symbiote hat that's sold in battle.net the gear shop? BTW I don't believe it is the symbiote hat. At any rate it's very cool and I might want if I could narrow down what it is. :)

For the expansion, which is released soon (tm).
I imagine obsidian destroyer could be good in the same kind of deck that varian would be placed in post BGH nerf assuming they do actually nerf it. Having Varian + Obsidian Destroyer + OD Spawn + Ragnaros + Ysera all come out of 10 mana sounds like a dream combo that needs to happen.

I combined this thing with an armor smith against a paladin that entered top deck mode and by the time the destroyer died I had gained 22 armor

Yeah, if the warrior makes it long enough to play the thing, they are often in a pretty good position where it is able to dominate. Just being able to play it out typically means his opponent is in a position where they can easily have a hard time with it.

another way you can look at it is a 7/7 or a 8/8 with devine shield
A slightly worse divine shield, but with taunt.
Except the most important thing with divine shield is the attack stat.
it should be a warlock card, it was a undead item therefore would make more sense being one of theirs.

I just wrecked a mage in tavern brawl with one of a Obsidian destroyer had him out for like 5 turns and he did ALL of the dmg to her.
