I’m an independent artist living in Brazil in a middle of a crisis and things are really harsh nowdays. For some reason, when I watch your videos about tips for getting things done, my day becomes better. I realize I’m doing my best every day and things will be on track as a consequence. I just need to be relentless and patient. Thank you!
Swarez.....thank you so much for the motivational work tips. Blast it!......I am very inspired to paint in my "dining room turned art studio".......BUT it's easy for me to go in there and look, look, look and walk out scratching my head!!! But from the looks of your productivity, I will ..... I interrupted watching your instructions to make a comment....................bahahaa, will probably come back after your video to add something .............BACK!!....thanks for the tips! GREAT! DO-able!!
This series of videos really has helped me so much! You continue to be such an amazing inspiration for me in the hardest time in my life. I got so much out of this video it is so far one of my favorites but I'm still working my way through them all. I have now started to make a list of nine things to do one always being watch one of your videos education is important! Obviously I will be leaving a thumbs up and comment all the way through your playlist. Thank you again both of you for all you do have a wonderful day.
I time everything and record one large project per month on my calendar. For example, one hour to vacuum or get groceries. Large indoor projects during the winter. Outdoor projects during the summer. I do the same with my craft projects. One crocheted purse collection per month, which includes 50 purses in several different color combinations and styles. Plus, one crocheted jewelry collection per month, which includes 24 - 48 necklaces, single bracelets, cuff bracelets or earrings. I only consign, but usually sell out. A realistic schedule is less stressful. It allows for a steady pace and natural flow.
Thank u very much for these tips..even though they r nothing new..but to hear it from u is motivating!! hv been watching all ur videos recently..ur background setting is amazing..wud appreciate if u could keep a steady pace...Tnx Swarez for the effort.
Thank you so much for your insights and the views into your practice / art business regimen. ( I stayed focused despite the noise, cheers for carrying on ) Side note: "Ultramatic" is quite exquisite, excellent scope of works...time to do my List!
good stuff man. I usually plan the day of. You definitely need to get busy on critical task. My challenge is engaging on social media without getting dragged into some tangent vs enough to satisfy fans.
@@SwarezArt Well, yes, I got the explanation in a video, but I'm gonna dig deeper ;-) Why not squeeze 4 or 5 tasks in? What if tasks are very big - do you go 6 (2+2+2) or small - do you do 12 (4+4+4)? I tried nine another day and couldn't calm down until I had 10 written down, ha ha! (Only achieved about half, mind you)
This works so well. You're right about the max no of items. I also make a list for the week on Sunday night and on Saturdays I check to see if I dropped anything and try to remedy that. Or put it into next week's list.
Good points. I would suggest 5 rather than 9, so the essential stuff gets done and balance of the day is filled with the regular stuff. It is easy to get trap in doing the make work stuff of a studio practice. Be interested in hearing your thoughts on establishing a work day routine. Cheers.
Thanks again for the advice, much appreciated. Focus for me is difficult, other than the practical work which I love and can focus, hyperfocus in my case, I have adhd. It's such a struggle with all the mundane stuff but as you mentioned, rewarding yourself is a good idea, that might work for me. Cheers
@@SwarezArt It does, thanks again. I know your a busy man with various things going on, I'm surprised you replied back, it's much appreciated though, that you find the time. I just need an opinion, if I may ask, I'm currently studying a diploma in visual arts here in down under Australia, I left it late as I just recently turned 50, I always had a natural talent for it but there was the money factor & the belief that I would always struggle as many artists have but I didn't realise the different paths you could take within the industry, basically, I didn't have a mentor or someone to show me ropes. Anyway, sorry, I'll get straight to the point, do you think it's worth continuing the diploma? There are some aspects that I don't really enjoy like sewing, using latex etc. But will I need it, unless I'm going to teach or some other field that requires it, or should I teach myself/take a short course in a particular discipline as I haven't really been taught anything in the course in regards to drawing & painting techniques. Not sure what to do. It would be greatly appreciated of your opinion but please take your time if you decide or have the time to reply. Cheers mate.
DE E if there’s a genre or discipline that you enjoy then go study that on a course made for it. Or find a tutor or teacher you can learn from. Academic courses suit some people but I’m gonna day that it sounds like it’s not for you. Specialise now if you can and cut out the wages time. If you need a skill in the future then go learn it. Quit now and follow your own path. Hope that helps.
@@SwarezArt.. Thank you so much for your quick reply, didn't expect it. It certainly does help, it comes from someone who's been there & done it all with success but also tells it how it is, no BS which I think many people appreciate. I will definitely take that advice on board & go from there. I'd just like to mention I love your work, particularly the colour schemes & the formation of them. I'd love to purchase a piece some day when I have enough ££😉. Cheers mate.
I'm sorry you feel that way David - this was one-take (like they all are) and I am trying my best to explain in a bit more detail than "Oh, just do these three things!" Hopefully I will get better as time progresses.

Thanks Ana - that's nice to hear. Yes, just gotta keep focused and pushing as hard as you can.
Hi Ana I'm in South Africa. It's also hard times here. Your solution is my solution too. Stay strong!

Thank you so much 😊
Excellent work displayed with the gallery. It's lovely. I like how simple the idea is of making a list.
Thanks so much! 😊

Swarez = artist / motivational speaker / amazon prime member 👍
Ha! Thanks Ryan - very much appreciated! :)

Sadly, as a solo artist, I’ll just have a cup of tea and think a bit more

Always a tricky balance I find...
What time do you usually sleep and wake up??
Great video, as always!!
Precise and useful, thx
Happy New Year and thanks a lot for Great advice. However, the print on your shirt was distracting.
Duly noted Josieann! HNY to you too!
Do the easy stuff first.
Does your shirt really say Fcuk? Or am I just conditioned wierdly? Great info, thank you a ton. Really helps!
Ha! No, not quite. Its an FCUK branded hoody I got cheap!
do the difficult stuff first.
Why 9 and not 10? Is that your favourite number?
Ha! i just thought that splitting things into thirds was easier... three am, three pm and three if I can squeeze them in!

Chris Erskine thanks Chris, duly noted
@@SwarezArt Work day routine would be a very interesting vid! Hope you start with a good coffee (or porridge!) :-)
Wonderful video even with the noise... I never make lists and kind of flounder around, I think this will definitely help..Thanks!!
TJ Vixen thank you very much, that’s very kind of you.
I make a list then get afraid to look at it. Unless there is a looming concrete deadline, then they become useful.
I'm ridiculously impressed. I just didn't think that someone could be so prolific, but still do such beautiful, engaging work consistently.
Your gallery area has the most amazing light

Love your work, but this was incessant babble... get to the point (possibly in half the time it took you to make the video!)
