Someone please define 'underrated'. It's used in every bass video that's not Flea, Jaco or Les. If Stu's underrated, sign me up, I'll trade my bass talent and career for his right away. Heck, I'd be content just for being allowed to audition for Satriani... let alone touring with him.
Indeed! Amazing how ignorant editors, directors, camera crew, etc are. Don't video the back of the neck. Nothing to see there. The action people want to see is on the front of the neck. Who cares about the performer's face! Show us the fingers making the music!!
Too bad playing the bass for a lot of pro players like Stu has turned into a circus act to impress people who wouldn't know real music if it came up and bit them on the ass.
Horribly sloppy with a terrible invisible ball-less 90s smiley face eq. Basic playing...he's laughably imprecise especially when he taps and his slap is choppy.
I saw him do this in the late 80s while on tour with Joe Satriani. The first time you hear someone do this live, it's never the same afterwards, but this performance is good because I like it.
Stu is brilliant as always but the video on this track is not synced properly with the audio. Also way too much video editing, just let us watch this master at his craft.
it takes a special kind of artist at his best to make you feel like you are part of an outer body experience with only his interment and fingers...
Most underrated bass player. Great job!
hes as good as claypool and flea and in some cases better.
He’s not under rated at all. He’s widely considered one of the best bass players in the world!
@@rudybigboote3883 Yep spot on rudy Joe Satriani main bass player and we all how great joe is.
@@MasterWitchDoctor not in some cases, he is better.

Best bass solo i've ever heard, too bad those hyenas screamming and whistling -_-
Can you blame them? If I were there I’d be screaming too.
LiteraryLapse cuz you’d rather hear you than him?
Aaron_GKV it’s a rock n roll show not a library.

yet another great musical performance visually ruined by an overzealous video editor

Couldn’t agree more!!!!!!!
@@charlieturner5485 use your ears. You don't need to see what he does, this is music.
Quahogs anyone?
parece guitarra que huevada
If Jesus Christ actually existed, and he was a musician, and he played bass… he’d be only the second best bass player.
Too bad playing the bass for a lot of pro players like Stu has turned into a circus act to impress people who wouldn't know real music if it came up and bit them on the ass.
yep. horrible tone too. i saw him with greg howe a while back and the mids felt like a sledge hammer on my ears.
“Real music” get over yourself

todos los solos de Stuart es lo mismo nada inovador que aburrido

Yet no one knows who you are
Plus what do you mean imprecise ?? Sounds like jealously to me
