Sam the glitch about popping up immediately after bending down is for almost every player, it's not just you. Easy Day Studios is working on it to fix it
Sam! I highly recommend that you complete the grinds, lines and especially the board control challenges in both the mega ramp and the L.A. courthouse! It will teach you some really cool stuff! like how do you pop over a rail, how do you 'drop in' after a grind/stall, pop a trick straight up during a grind etc... - you can control all that using the triggers and / or pressing the analogs!. exemple : if you are grinding and you press both triggers at the same time, just a tap, BEFORE you pop out, the next pop trick will be straight up and will land on the same rail! - nice to do some combos! if you tap the left trigger, when you pop you will be launched to the left side of the rail etc! . You can do the same but pressing the left/right analogs and it will drop in to the chosen side - really usefull to do some grinds/stalls on mini-ramps and/or transfers! Its really cool , it's like an indication ; you get into a grind, tap the trigger in which way you want to pop out and the game will 'remember that' when you pop out of the rail. PS : the grabs, powerslide and manual challenges also have some cool stuff, like I didn't know that you can do mute/stailfish grab or a manual - blunt powerslide to switch manual the game has SO MANY little details that if you master it, you can do literally everything super smooth!

I thought I had the same problem but learned that this game is very specific about how you bend down (You have to pull the stick down almost completely straight or it thinks you’re trying to very lightly shuvit).

One way to get a little more speed flat is X and A or A and B which ever both buttons push press one then the other and keep doing that process Good luck 👍🏻

I had this problem because when I wanna ollie, I don't put my sticks straight down 100%, sometimes, it's a bit on the left, or on the right. Even if it's a lil bit, the game needs precision. I raged a bit several times because of this ahah
To your controller doing random ollies or shuvits, its happening when u don't pull completely straight done and then correct it slightly. Thats why u doing these like me or my friends ^^
You don’t need a new controller it’s a common bug. I think it’s when you Bend down to pop, you come at a slight angle. So try to focus on popping directly down on the analog stick
