This project was so much fun, and I'm so glad you liked it! ❤❤ Keep in mind the things I said in the beginning though - Chiyo's design is the first and only official design, and even though she was not what we expected, she was what we got. My main motive for creating this design was to encapture the picture we had in our minds, as well as to complete my full picture of the Dark Rider squad. I feel very pleased with the result 😁
With the exception of the scar (I would have loved some Pandoria scars as well like Anne or Evergrey) your version of the 4th dark rider is NOTHING like what I had imagined 😯😂 That said I LOVE your design 🤯 I imagined a more sinister version of Wednesday Addams (from the 1999 movie), being cold, ruthless and twisted in ways that truly would make the other Dark Riders uncomfortable... OR someone more like The Joker in The Dark Knight aka a complete mad woman who as teamed up with Garnok for the sake of watch and inflicting suffering, destruction and chaos. Instead I got a kid with a toy horse 🙈🤦🏻♀️😂 And that is qhy I truly wish that long time fans of the games (yes even the Starshine Legacy) were involved in character development and main story quests.
OMG - the expression, the clothes, the HAIR 😭 you've created the absolute ultimate Dark Rider squad, breaks my heart a little that the sso team isn't as badass as you when it comes to designing the actual villains of a game plot 🥲🥺

This is the perfect Elise!! Tough, rough and cool! You made the perfect Jessica too! Only thing I'd swap is Sabine's and Elise's size, that way Elise looks the most intimidating of them all. I'd want Katja her front hair to look a little more like the original. But those are details and my personal opinion, I think you did amazing!!! Honestly if sso dies and some people decide to remake it then you should defenitly be in charge of the characters, you'd do them all justice! 😄
Thinking about it I thought older teen/young adult, a bit like Jessica who's kinda Emo but CRANKED UP, actual Goth/past heavy metal vibes. Actually scary, a PRO at destruction an despair, you feel uneasy the first time you see her and get more scared every time you encounter and learn more about her. (They didn't call her in last time for a reason) Instead we got a shitty 8 year old who even Madison wouldn't be friends with. I would love to see the story do something were Mr Sands is unhappy with the Dark Riders, goes "Katja come here." and just offs the rest of them! "It's a bit late to do it now but it will be worth it in the long run." Maybe we get to prevent the recruitment of the new ones! :D Talk to Sabine's dad. Never gonna happen but a fun thought.
Wow she looks absolutely brilliant! I'd always imagined her as intimidating in a more cold and calculated way than muscular as that was already Sabine, and also would have a kind of pandoric corruption like Anne but purple? Because to me I always felt like she should stand out from the other soul riders in some way, not that we had much information on her. But how you did yours is still really good and she looks incredible, I'd be very happy if we had her in game! You're very talented at making dark riders lol

However: I think SSO is quietly steering the game towards younger player and thus a child suits them. Why I think so? Well, that’s my overall -how shall I say- feeling, but here is one example: The Silverglade Wineyard does not produce wine anymore, it produces juice…. But back to you: You are great!
This is not at all how i imagined her, i thought she'd be more mysterious and dark, almost with like with like a cloak or something, BUT i think your version is really cool and it would've been so much more fitting than... what we got... I wouldn't have complained :')
I was so disappointed with this "official" dark rider, that I also created Elise myself. My Elise is the daughter of Mrs. Drake and a none identical twin sister of my 5th Soul Rider, Molly, so she technically is an incarnation of the 4th Dark Raider. Elise just like her mama is cold, ruthless, calculating, blonde, and practically pure evil, she constantly talks down to Molly and tells her how useless she is, how the fact that she was "chosen" had to be a mistake, how Soul Riders don't actually care for her and keep her around only because of convenience, and because Molly is deeply traumatized by her childhood and has trust issues, it is usually working very well, and Molly becomes an easy target. Other Dark Raiders don't exactly love her because Elise thinks she is much better than them anyway. She has an Embermane as her horse called Grimland, and has fire powers. Probably a basic concept, but t's better than this stupid child IMO.
I looooove these designs. Elise looks nothing like what I imagined her (I imagined a white girl with a top hat) but I still love it and would take her over Chiyo any day! Sabine finally looks like herself and Jessica is my absolute favourite! They’re such badasses, as they should be. I still would like to see Katja in her old all white outfit but I guess she’s fine. The sandals bother me though. I also realised we have a similar (if not the same) music taste! I know and love all the songs in this video except the third instrumental one. Goddd, I hope SSO makes like Paramount and just like the Sonic movie fixes everything. I highly, highly doubt it but that teeny tiny sliver of hope is there...

There is definitely and there is 100% a reason why they might have made her a child, like baby. My theory is that maybe the dark riders actually lost the 4th dark rider and someone had to bring Chiyo instead (It can be garnok who sent her, or Mr Sands or maybe Darko, I dunno if he’s dead or what) And Sabine, Katja and Jay can’t trust her of actually being capable of being a dark rider, and they just think that she’s just a harmless child. But after a while, Chiyo is an excellent dark rider, strong and her horse....? Honestly, that hobby horse is the cutest and dumbest thing lol. But you definitely remember reading the blog about Chiyo and the SSO team said about her horse (With more than it meets the eye) So, her horse is an actual being and the other generals didn’t know. So, this is my theory based on Chiyo/Elise. I think this is reason why they changed her. Because they may have lost the dark rider in some sort of magic things and Garnok had to send Chiyo. But we still don’t know yet anything about her, if you look at the “Next up in Jorvik” Thing, you will see that in April 27, You can see Sabine’s boots, and that shows a sign that she will make an appearance, and when Sabine would come we would definitely know more. Alright this everything I wanted to say, btw I love how you draw things. I wish you could be the game designer in SSO, the game would be so much better ❤️

I don't really like Chiyo either but the more I think about it the more she makes sense. Especially bc, in my own head canon at least, Anne is the one missing her opposite. Anne being known to be sophisticated and what not, a chaotic child energy as her opposite makes sense to me
SEE they look like a cohesive group! The current dark riders - especially Chiyo - have no common visual similarities at all. Nothing that makes my first though 'Oh, these are the super evil dark riders!' Nevertheless, great job! It looks super convincing!

Who else figured out that the saboteur from the upcoming riding festival in sso is probably Sabine? Look at the boots and the pants from the person walking in the trailer sso just posted on their RUclips channel, exactly the same as what Sabine is wearing.
This is not exactly how I had imagined her but it pretty close. I think it is because of the few hints we got we all had a similar idea but different execution. The one thing is that hair does not grow in scars because the hair shaft is damaged this is especially true for eye brows because they are the most fragile. This is why you will always see a break in the eye brow when a scar is there.
I actually imagined Elise to be a redhead, a bit like Merida from brave. But just add some mystery to her and I really liked the yellow eye idea sim I’m gonna be stealing that.
The yellow eyes were one of the few things I had pretty much set in stone before making the edit. A lot of people give her purple eyes, but in the original design, Sabine has purple eyes, and since the three original riders have big contrasts in their eye colors (blue, green and purple), I decided I wanted to give Elise a different color as well. Yellow was perfect from the get-go because it looks natural with a darker skinstone, while at the same time adding just a little bit of that unhuman feeling. It's also a color that can go pretty nicely with purple 😁
This is honestly the best version of Elise I've seen people do yet! Her whole vibe reminds me of an ex member of the militar army or something. I adore the design choices you made, specially her physical appearance (tough, broad/strong shoulders, wider nose and mouth, etc). Absolutely perfect. Also, could you perhaps share where you find the assets you use to edit? The hair base, the pants, etc. I wanted to make some SSO edits too, but I don't know where to find good assets that match the game's appearance- lol.
I'm so glad you like it! I tend to steal some thing from the sims 4, cause it kinda has a similar style and it's easy to take pictures from the right angles. I've started using CC for the clothes though, because I want it to feel more original than sims 4 clothes that many are familiar with 😅
I don't know why but in my head, Nihili (which was her first name) looked a lot like Katja's old design. I love your design of all the dark riders (and the Soul Rider edits you've made before!) and now you make me want to try to draw/edit how I imagined Nihili xD

Can't you send them your work, all of them and ask in the name of the community to change the dark riders for the better? I mean, the worst thing that could happen is that they say no, but they might consider it, after seeing what you've accomplished...I sure hope so. Maybe they could make a voting-opportunity, to see what the players really want and present theirs and yours, and maybe some other creations? Its for the players afterall, and I'm confident to say, that we are not happy with all the new ardk riders. You are quite known among us, they might know you as well and maybe they care what you think? At least could you try it for us? Preatty please???
I thought there was a general understanding that the soul riders and dark riders were of similar ages e.g. 14-18. I don't understand why sso decided to make two of the dark riders look 9 years old, while Sabine and Jessica look 17/18.
Honestly the black washing really bothers me, I mean they could have just made Choi (?) black and leave the other characters skin color, it’s kinda offensive what they did
i, personally, would really hate star stable if they added Chiyo, they've literally made her a toddler, she should still be in kindergarten and not fighting with the rest of the dark riders. I LOVE the other dark riders and the design you did for Elise but Chiyo is just such a bad addition. I really hope that SSO change alot of things about Chiyo, like her age and her name. I personally wouldn't mind if they kept her style, it doesn't really bother me but the other things do. I feel like her style is a contrast to the other three and it might be decent but if they keep her as a toddler it would just remind me of that crusty Maddison girl on South Hoof just a little worse.

I assume that each dark rider has a soul rider they are a mirror of, so Sabine-Alex, Katja-Linda, etc. Could you explain what your design decision was with making Elise a mirror of Lisa? I dislike Chiyo's design, but you can clearly see the element of chaos, which is the opposite of Lisa's more heart/harmony design. Perhaps all of this is more newer canon stuff, I'm a newer fan anyway. My idea was very normal looking yet somewhat creepy/uncanny valley girl who was manipulative. Not to put you on the spot, but I guess I'd like to know what you think her powers and personality are like.
Hmm, that is a very common theory, but I didn't really have that in mind when creating this. I suppose you could say that the scar, ripped jeans and intimidating vibe gives off the opposite feel to Lisa. Lisa, as the Soul Rider of the Star Circle, is bound to feel safe and assuring, while with Elise you feel at unease and don't really know where you have her

Whoa, it really looks like one evil dark rider. Not to mention She looks sooo cool. Can't you send them your work, all of them and ask in the name of the community to change the dark riders for the better? I mean, the worst thing that could happen is that they say no, but they might consider it, after seeing what you've accomplished...I sure hope so. Maybe they could make a voting-opportunity, to see what the players really want and present theirs and yours, and maybe some other creations? Its for the players afterall, and I'm confident to say, that we are not happy with all the new ardk riders. You are quite known among us, they might know you as well and maybe they care what you think? At least could you try it for us? Preatty please???
I thought there was a general understanding that the soul riders and dark riders were of similar ages e.g. 14-18. I don't understand why sso decided to make two of the dark riders look 9 years old, while Sabine and Jessica look 17/18.

i, personally, would really hate star stable if they added Chiyo, they've literally made her a toddler, she should still be in kindergarten and not fighting with the rest of the dark riders. I LOVE the other dark riders and the design you did for Elise but Chiyo is just such a bad addition. I really hope that SSO change alot of things about Chiyo, like her age and her name. I personally wouldn't mind if they kept her style, it doesn't really bother me but the other things do. I feel like her style is a contrast to the other three and it might be decent but if they keep her as a toddler it would just remind me of that crusty Maddison girl on South Hoof just a little worse.

She looks much better! I have a question. I assume that each dark rider has a soul rider they are a mirror of, so Sabine-Alex, Katja-Linda, etc. Could you explain what your design decision was with making Elise a mirror of Lisa? I dislike Chiyo's design, but you can clearly see the element of chaos, which is the opposite of Lisa's more heart/harmony design. Perhaps all of this is more newer canon stuff, I'm a newer fan anyway.
My idea was very normal looking yet somewhat creepy/uncanny valley girl who was manipulative. Not to put you on the spot, but I guess I'd like to know what you think her powers and personality are like.
Hmm, that is a very common theory, but I didn't really have that in mind when creating this. I suppose you could say that the scar, ripped jeans and intimidating vibe gives off the opposite feel to Lisa. Lisa, as the Soul Rider of the Star Circle, is bound to feel safe and assuring, while with Elise you feel at unease and don't really know where you have her
@@eleanornightwalker Well, I wasn't sure if it was the case or not, but yeah, she is certainly a lot more intimidating than Lisa.
