I'm with John on this one. I enjoyed both episodes, although I think the 2nd one was stronger. The question is will the show maintain or exceed this level of quality for its remaining episodes? I sincerely hope it does because I like the MCU version of Agatha and the vibes I'm getting from the first two episodes so far.
I’m so sick of this whole notion that fans say of "Who asked for this?" It's not even a good argument. The MCU was literally built off of B & C list characters. Who asked for a Guardians movie or Shang Chi, Ant Man or hell nobody asked for an Iron Man movie. It doesn’t matter how popular the characters are in the comics what matters is how they’re done in live action. If the show or movie is well made, who cares? Marvel has proven they can make poor selling comics profitable and poorly known characters enjoyable. This has always been their bread and butter.
I hear you, but Agatha literally has next to no comic lore to pull from, and they made a whole show for her based on the popularity of a song-bit yet have been struggling for years to pen a script for a vampire hunter
Jennifer Kale's new agey shop has to be a joke about Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop. They even made a jade egg joke, like the ones Goop sells. Jennifer being sued for her products burning her customers could be a reference to a Goop candle that exploded, and Goop being fined for misleading advertisements.
Yes! I wished I could binge the rest of the series. That's how you know it's succeeding. I think the cast will elevate this show. Hopefully they have a solid story to tell with a compelling antagonist. One of the things that hurts these projects is a weak villain.
This show is great so far. Lucasfilm needs to take notes on how to present a witches coven. And they sang a song! The kid is also solid addition, his facial expressions are on point. the rest of the cast is great so far too. I'm enjoying it so far!

Agatha and penguin should no way be compare. One is about a witch lore and supernatural. And the Penguin is a rip of every mob movie, minus Batman.
i don't think people are loving penguine very much... got some pacing issues
@@WitchMaster-vi4kp Its got an 8.9 on Imdb and 89% audience score on Rotten tomatoes. What people are you talking about?
Also kind of see where they were planning to go? Anikan's and palpatines creation. As a dyad somehow both would be related to OSHA and Mae. While Qimer creates the knights of Ren.
My favorite part of acolyte was Qimer and plagueis.
I'm hear to decide on whether I am going to watch this series because I trust John Campea’s critique
Get ready for the next disappointment. As usual they are not going to stick to the landing.
Ok Karen
I wish i feel like you but for me is a horrible show i think we are used to 5 and when we get a 7 looks like is a amazing show but for me is not a 10 still a 7
Seeing that class about story writing ruined my expierence watching mediocre shows going forward - now I see it everywhere.
You sound vaccinated
Lol what? 😂
You sound like unvaccinated.
and you sound unvaccinated lol
@jasperabibas and the more we learn the prouder I am of that decision, are you?
Crazy world that vaccines have turned political. Americans will turn anything political these days, eh?
Very meh. I feel no connection to this show
This show wasn’t for me. I feel its target audience is the young Disney children. But that’s a good thing… something for everyone 😃
You think the first episode inspired by murder mystery thrillers and crime dramas is for children???
The target audience for this is middle aged women and hardcore comics fans.
And the naked ass was totally for young Disney kids… for real? I’m not sure young kids would be able to handle some of the creepier stuff, too.
The audience is… anyone who enjoys it. Are we only able to watch entertainment if it precisely mirrors our own identity? Maybe folks need to expand their horizons a little
TEEN was soooo annoying i quit watching, annoying af
5:34 The Acolyte has a higher critic rating than Agatha. Doesn't mean that Agatha sucks but it does mean more people enjoyed Acolyte than Agatha. A lot of people just didn't get to Acolyte and a lot of people don't get Agatha, that doesn't mean that either show is "inherently bad" it just means it's not for you.
yeah cuz critic score are so relevant LOL
@@nervenllarena4948 Right, because the audience score for streaming shows are so credible.
@@thehacker4012 you have to look at both scores and make your own mind
"higher critic rating" is meaningless and the Acolyte is objectively bad.
@@redrick8900 No, the Acolyte isn't objectively bad just because a bunch unverified accounts online say so. Try again.
