I hope you know, Omar, how much these reading order videos are appreciated, especially by me. I make sure to save them in my "Watch Later" folder after I've watched them so I can go back and refer to them quickly when I need to. They have come in handy more often then you know. So, THANK YOU OMAR!!! #OmarRules #NoReallyOmarRules
Fantastic video!!!! Just days ago, I was considering getting some Cable collections, knowing that most of the character's appearances have been collected in some format. To IST I go!!!!
Dude you're a lifesaver. After watching the Deadpool movie and playing the game I really wanted to revisit Cable but just didn't know where to start. I dipped into some of the later books and man, I gotta say he's easily becoming one of my favs. This video is the biggest help I've found yet.
These are awesome, Omar! Keep them coming. Hulk, FF, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Shazam (Cpt. Marvel,) Ghost Rider would be cool if you haven't done them already.
Randy Green's art really worked well in the Cable title ... and Ladronn was awesome!! Love re-watching these videos and getting the "comic bug" to complete my collection!
These reading order vids are so so so useful! Thanks Omar! :) Also, thought I'd mention that the cable/Wolverine one shot where they meet (guts n glory?) is one of my favourite ever comics. Great 90's art and intense dialogue. 'Dont threaten me with one foot out the door...' So good!
I avoided getting X-Force omnibus for the longest time, but when they solicited the new Cable and X-Force one next year, I decided I had to have it to complete Nicieza X-Force, one of my all time fave runs, even though I much prefer the post-Liefeld issues, and ordered it a few days ago.
I've thought about doing events in the past. I know that 2015 Secret Wars did a huge Battle World minis, but most of those weren't that great so I never picked them up. But I will keep that in mind for sure.
So for someone who has never read a cable series would those two Joe Casey Cable run trades be fine to pick up and start from? Its really the only one that's caught my interest, but I know it is in the middle of his ongoing series.
You can absolutely start with that run. He does a good job of giving you small glimpses of Cables past from time to time. So by the time you get to his 20th issue, you have a better understanding of the character.
I talked about it on my third part of the X-men comprehensive order. But here is the preorder: www.amazon.com/X-Men-Eve-Destruction-Fabian-Nicieza/dp/1302918257/?tag=nearmintcon-20
I literally just want Xmen: Messiah Complex, Messiah War, (Second Coming en route transit as we speak) and Cable: vol 1 and 2 premiere editions. Hopefully I can get them all in hardcover as I am a big cable fan. Had to sacrifice for paperback for Cable/Deadpool as I couldn't wait!
Thanks so much for this video! Cable was the fucking MAN when I started reading comics, so I have a real soft spot for him. Have you done a video about the Annihilation era and beyond for Marvel Cosmic? I looked to see if you have, but don't see it.
I haven't yet. but I would love to tackle that considering Annihilation all the way to the Thanos Imperative are in my top 10 favorite stories of all time.
Hey. Were your Hardcovers ALL factory sealed when you purchased them? I am having a difficult time with sellers telling me none of their "brand new" HCs are factory sealed of Cable: vol 1 and 2/Xmen Messiah Complex. Is it trustworthy?
Second Coming and Messiah Complex were definitely was sealed as well as all omnibuses. I can't recall if Cable was or wasn't. Being the smaller scale HCs I don't think they were.
Panini Comics, the guys that publish Marvel in Spain (and the rest of Europe, or almost) should whatch this video, I have no way to buy 66% of these in my country
Okay, lets talk. Because people like these reading orders because I dive in there and talk about the stories. Keep in mind the stories in these books are 20 years old at times. What exactly should I not have mentioned. I like listening to everyone's critique, I'm not being a smartass, but when 300 people want more and 20 people want less spoilers, it gets to be a fine line I'm walking. So please let me know what YOU think should not have been mentioned, I would love to know.
@@NearMintCondition I don't think the age of the stories is an argument. If you just got into comics, then they're all equally old. It's not a big deal for me, since I'm really backed up in terms of comics but if I were about to read the story and you said what happened at the end, I would be really annoyed. You can just say what issues the books collect, and how they lead into each other. This is actually a cool video idea, you could create reading order videos both with and without spoilers, summarizing everything for people who want a quick recap!
@@Sheikah_Architect Okay... let me reevaluate on how I do this. I really can't talk about Poor Dead Doug, without giving away that Doug died during the Fall of the Mutants, but I believe it's important to mention that wonderful story, because Louise's stories get passed as a joke because of Bird Brain. But speaking of Fall of the Mutants I didn't give away any key points or how they win or Inferno for that matter. Or the battle in Genosha during X-tinction Agenda. See where I'm going here? I think there are things I have to mention to make people aware when and where they take place. Such as the Death of Gwen Stacy (just using that as an example) because now we have a character running around called Spider-Gwen who is not the 616 Gwen or for that matter Gwen Pool who has nothing to do with Gwen Stacy. Perhaps from this moment on I will mention there is talk of some spoilers.
@@NearMintCondition Sure, that's cool. I know what you mean. It's not a big deal for me since I'll probably forget what you spoiled by the time I read it haha I use this blog to help me understand reading orders, this guy does a good job of not spoiling things. crushingkrisis.com/crushing-comics-guide-collecting-marvel-comic-books/become-an-instant-x-men-expert/#3
Omar, you are not spoiling anything. You dont mention any more than what someone would read in a general plot synopsis of any given collected edition or volume before buying it. It would be like asking someone to recommend a good read and why; they are going to touch on key points/events of said material to justify the recommendation and so the individual understands what they are diving into, but not get into the specifics of the events. Thank you for what you do!!! Your Hulk reading order got me back into reading that character!!!
love these "reading order" series man, keep em coming
Thank you so much and as long as people keep watching, I'll keep making them.
Near Mint Condition yes we got the cable and x force omnibus july 2019 can’t wait to get some more old school love that art 👍👍
Love it man! Thanks as always and keep it up!
Thank you for watching and the kind words.

You are more than welcome, brother! I love making them and you have no idea how much these compliments mean to me. :)
Never stop! Keep this coming
I surely will as long as people keep watching.
I actually really needed help with how to collect Cable titles, thanks!
You are more than welcomed and thank you for watching.
Because it can't be said enough, I also love these comprehensive videos
And I can't thank people enough for leaving these comments. Makes me feel validated. :)
👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Thank you. Love your videos...I archive them to use as guides later when I read my books!
Happy to be of service, brother!

Randy Green's art really worked well in the Cable title ... and Ladronn was awesome!! Love re-watching these videos and getting the "comic bug" to complete my collection!
I wish Green was a faster artist. He is very good and yes Ladronn is the man. I miss him on superhero books. Thank you for watching again, brother.

Stephen Platt happens to be a guilty pleasure of mine. It's a great way to start off the Robinson/Casey arc. Thank you for the kind words, brother.
💯 been killing it with these videos. Keep them coming. The overview is 🔥

Oh yeah Mike. Nicieza is the reason to read those books! He put lots of himself in that run. Even if it's just the scripts.
These videoz are AWESOME! I never thought you'd do a specific character. Any interest in events? I'm working on 2015's secret wars myself.
I've thought about doing events in the past. I know that 2015 Secret Wars did a huge Battle World minis, but most of those weren't that great so I never picked them up. But I will keep that in mind for sure.
Omar, this was excellent. Chris Sionni from the board. I look forward to the x-force video and enjoy watching the x-men ones!
Thank you so much for the compliment, Chris. I do plan on doing an X-force one, probably when that Cable and X-force omnibus comes out.
As always mate spot on, grab Classic X-men thanks to your review
Thank you brother.
thx omar have a great day.
You as well, good sir.
So for someone who has never read a cable series would those two Joe Casey Cable run trades be fine to pick up and start from? Its really the only one that's caught my interest, but I know it is in the middle of his ongoing series.
Oops Just got to the point in the video where you had mentioned you will discuss at end of video....
You can absolutely start with that run. He does a good job of giving you small glimpses of Cables past from time to time. So by the time you get to his 20th issue, you have a better understanding of the character.
Any chance we can get a Gambit/Gambit & Rouge reading order;also, who are your lets say top 5 favorite X-Men characters?
Top 5:
Wolverine
Storm
Archangel
Rogue
Forge
I will add those books to the list for the future.
Dream's End omnibus ? :O Where!
I talked about it on my third part of the X-men comprehensive order. But here is the preorder:

You weren't kidding that deadpool and cable omnibus is expensive
Is X-Men vs Apocalypse: The Twelve a stand alone read? Or do I need prior reading to understand the story?
I literally just want Xmen: Messiah Complex, Messiah War, (Second Coming en route transit as we speak) and Cable: vol 1 and 2 premiere editions. Hopefully I can get them all in hardcover as I am a big cable fan. Had to sacrifice for paperback for Cable/Deadpool as I couldn't wait!
I've seen Messiah War from time to time in HC. At least around here it was the easiest to find. I'm sensing a set of omnis in the future.
Where's da overview dat u did for cable revolution? I can't find it anywhere
I did the overview for the X-men Revolution Omnibus. Not the Cable Revolution book.
How wud u rank cable soldier x purely on story basis...how many points out of 10?

Then it's all worth it for sure!
What about a Deadpool reading order? I've heard that it's all collected in omni.
There is lots that hasn't been, but I like that idea.
😊😊
Do you think we will ever get that Hush omnibus?
Did you enjoy Duane Swierzynski’s Cable?
I wish we would get that Hush omnibus. I liked Swierzynski's run. Reminded me of Lone Wolf and Cub.
I like Liefield too🙈
My dood! I know there are dozens of us! Dozens!! :)
