- A FRUITFUL FAITH | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (September 15, 2024)
Today is the Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time; and in the gospel we would read a memorable moment.
On their way to Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asks his disciples: “Who do you say that I am?” Peter rightly answers: “You are the Christ.” However, when Jesus intimates that he will suffer, Peter rebukes him. Jesus retorts, “Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.”
Friends, Jesus manifests to us his deep faith in the Father who sent him. His is a faith that surrenders everything to the Father in spite of suffering and death in order to fulfill his mission. He tells us: “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” He expects the same faith in his disciples. Is our faith like that of Jesus’?

The only thing exposed this Sunday is trust and confidence in God called faith is fruitful.
Lord our God, we hope in you. One thing never leaves our hearts, your promise that you will be our God, our God in Jesus Christ. This stands firm, and we want to hold to it in trust and confidence. For your Word remains sure, and all your works lead toward a great and wonderful time when you will be glorified, when our hearts can at last become free because we know you. We can become free from all our own works, free from all trembling and hesitation, free from all suffering and distress, because we know that you, O God, are our Father. In Jesus Christ Name. Amen.

Today is the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
What does faith mean to you?Reposing trust and confidence is what is meant by the word exposed this Sunday.I'm sorry if am wrong in understanding the long verbosity of the word exposed this Sunday
This gospel is telling young people that the lord Jesus Christ brings ways of thinking that will save mankind from the traditional way but the elders of the jews will reject Him and kill Him
What people need to understand is what does the lord wants man to deny himself in order come after Him.The word exposed this Sunday never expose this.
Is the belief in the word exposed " integrity of faith" a fruitful faith ?
Lamentably people stiill rejected him because they have not accepted the lord's way of thinking.For one thing the lord's way of thinking to establish a democratic government is rejected by the Filipinos when Duterte proclaimed that the buying and selling of votes is endemic in Philippine election
I am sorry to comment that I don't see any sense of direction or anything exposed by "fruitful faith"
