If that's Joo's last international tournament victory I'm pleased I saw it. Probably the strongest defender in my lifetime. And a lovely smile between them at the end. Well played Korea.
Congrats to Joo! Always happy to see a legend win :)
It is so nice that Jung apologizes to Joo for net or edge points in Korean style by slightly bowing. Respect.
Can u give an example as a time stamp? I don't recognize it
+Tom Greyjoy 1:24 :)
I was on the edge of my seat for this match. As far as I can remember this is the only tournament I've seen Joo win. So happy for him.
This is the second Pro Tour win of his career. The first was in Jeonju, Korea in 2006.
Jung caught my eye in this tournament with his great play and his respectful demeanor. I really like this kid! But i couldn't feel happier for Joo; has to be one of my favorite players and it's so great to see him back in shape. Now make us defenders proud and get the gold! (a mission almost impossible, but who knows?)
to bad hes probably going to retire this year or next but what a great defender:)
Absolutely delighted to see Joo win. Hope he continues this form till the Olympics.
He knows how to smile !
joo !!! the Master ! still there :-)
Well it seems like he's back, great to finally see him back on track again!
amazing Joo!!!!
Happy with the result, was a great match. Hopefully this will boost Joo's mentality to keep playing more these days, I heard him in a documentary say he planned to possibly retire this year or next...
Surprised but very impressed with Joo's performance. A former member of the Korean national team told me once that most people on the team don't have too much trouble playing Joo compared to the rest of the world because they've simply played him too much and aren't fazed by his spin-vs-no-spin chopping style. Regardless though, I'm really happy to see Joo playing so well!
ahahah !!!
Reminds me the good old "Matsushita" days !!!
Congrats to Joo, the defensive style win for once :)
there were no matsushita days . the fuk iz u talkin bout
Lol, Joo plays nothing like Matsushita. That's like saying Samsonov plays like Ma Long because they're both attackers
good to see joo sehyuk win this time..
Great dynamic play from Joo Se Hyuk.
You got to love that chop!
Awesome! Joo's magic still works. :)
I didn't expect Joo to stand a chance against his fellow teammates: They know very well how to beat a defender. While Joo''s defense remains strong, his forehand attack seems so inconsistent now. Amazing play from both anyway!
7:43 Joo touch the ground
Hurrah to the best defender in history
the legend of cut
joo is my favorit player.. thats why i use joo se hyuk blade.. bravo joo.. bravo pingpong
YESSSS!! Congratulations Joo!!!!!!!!!!!!
8:44 Jung Youngsik: "I've lost closer battles"
Seriously, how many deciders has Jung lost??
His chops are insane.
i personally think joo's forehand attack is way more strong than many attackers. I am saying this as I have been observing his every match. had he been an attacker he would have been in top 5 for sure.
I've noticed the same thing. One of his matches vs Jun Mizutani back then in WTTC 2012/13 IIRC, you could see how devastating his attacking style was and that was the time I saw Joo out-struck an attacker. Usually when he hits his forehand, the opponents fail to return
yes but then we wouldn't witness the best defender in the world right hehe
Jung knows how to play him
After first two sets.. I was about to leave.. and then the defense paid off exhausting the opponent!!
JOO SE HYUK!
Amazing chopper.
LEYENDA.
Oh they changed their shirts at final. Not any more national shirts but Samsung & Mirae. Samsung team in Korea, they do not like to lose to Mirae.
Lo rompió psicológicamente
Joo will be even more unbeatable when ITTF decides to increase the height of the net. He probably will be able to play for another decade.
Is this under consideration?
Yes it is.
+Big Wing Why?
Cuz ITTF thinks TT is not fun to watch and wants more rallies instead of one shot.
Big Wing so they want people to hit it into the net more?
jung exhausted, then he couldnt control his shot, congrats joo
joo have class man haha
Jung just couldn't keep his stamina up.
OBVIOUSLY yong man is a better player, but he was TOTALLY exausted. (but +100 exp. points to his level :) )
does joo se hyuk still use long pimples?
Yes Tibha Grass Dtecs with sponge
Wtf happened to the serve at 0:16
sigh, after joo retires, are there still any good male choppers???
James Lam Ruwen Filus, Panagiotis Gionis, Ma Te, Chen Weixing and Yuto Muramatsu for instance ^^
do powerful top spin against joo it not a good plan. you can't lift heavy chop for all game
My prediction is Joo will win this Olympics. You can take it to the banks.
korean duo :)
gg
Ok I like to play chopper but it sucks when people at your club don't play forehands all the time and I can never get rallies going or anything winning games is just not fun anymore just block push block uhhhhhh
At the end of Chinese player, they barely touch the tips of the hands. See how a Korean player talk with the other
Its easy when Ma Long and Fan Zhendog doesn't play.
so go there and win!
Haha maybe one day xD
first
INTERESTING
Absolutely delighted to see Joo win. Hope he continues this form till the Olympics.
joo doesnt pay in rio. May be in 2020
+Table tennis trick serves he plays
+대학탁구 yes I checked. previously I read somewhere that he is not. but that seems to be misinformation
He will not play in singles but as far as i know, he's the third man for the team tournament. Which means we will probably see him in few matches (it could be fun if he plays the double :D)
