    If that's Joo's last international tournament victory I'm pleased I saw it. Probably the strongest defender in my lifetime. And a lovely smile between them at the end. Well played Korea.

    It is so nice that Jung apologizes to Joo for net or edge points in Korean style by slightly bowing. Respect.

    I was on the edge of my seat for this match. As far as I can remember this is the only tournament I've seen Joo win. So happy for him.

      This is the second Pro Tour win of his career. The first was in Jeonju, Korea in 2006.

    Jung caught my eye in this tournament with his great play and his respectful demeanor. I really like this kid! But i couldn't feel happier for Joo; has to be one of my favorite players and it's so great to see him back in shape. Now make us defenders proud and get the gold! (a mission almost impossible, but who knows?)

    Happy with the result, was a great match. Hopefully this will boost Joo's mentality to keep playing more these days, I heard him in a documentary say he planned to possibly retire this year or next...

    Surprised but very impressed with Joo's performance. A former member of the Korean national team told me once that most people on the team don't have too much trouble playing Joo compared to the rest of the world because they've simply played him too much and aren't fazed by his spin-vs-no-spin chopping style. Regardless though, I'm really happy to see Joo playing so well!

    I didn't expect Joo to stand a chance against his fellow teammates: They know very well how to beat a defender. While Joo''s defense remains strong, his forehand attack seems so inconsistent now. Amazing play from both anyway!

    i personally think joo's forehand attack is way more strong than many attackers. I am saying this as I have been observing his every match. had he been an attacker he would have been in top 5 for sure.

    • @samme79
      @samme79 8 лет назад

      I've noticed the same thing. One of his matches vs Jun Mizutani back then in WTTC 2012/13 IIRC, you could see how devastating his attacking style was and that was the time I saw Joo out-struck an attacker. Usually when he hits his forehand, the opponents fail to return
