I just bought a 2000 lb Chinese machine 2 days ago, and I am so impressed with it . I mean the majority of parts are going to be off the shelf components so great for people that diy repairs. You can swap out the motor for anything remotely similar (a motorcycle engine would be a killer swap in) in a couple hours. Imo better for repairs than something like cat where everything even bolts are proprietary.

      BTW, what does "hog it" mean?

    • @JGoodwin
      @JGoodwin Год назад +3

      @@einarmikkelsenPNW hogging with a digging machine is a slang way of saying you stick the digger into the material like it's already loose, grabbing full buckets in one go. The advice I received is that you should use the bucket and teeth to break up the soils in smaller passes, then grab broken dirt with the bucket to move it. One thing I noticed about this strategy is that it's less likely for the bucket to create a vacuum against the material. I think it's also less stress against the joints which reduces wear on the bushings.
