      Like at great football rivalry or derby, the roots go much deeper than football itself. Mexico has long standing and justifiable resentment toward the US. Their trump card for years, has been that they take us to the cleaners on the pitch.

    Honestly the highlights don’t even show how great that game was. The fans were insane. Mexican fans were throwing bottles onto the pitch and even hit Gio Reyna in the head. Pulisic was celebrating in front of the Mexican supporters group. Then if you notice the American goalkeeper switched. The number 1 keeper, Zach stefan, had to come off and he was replaced by Horvath who doesn’t even have a club right now. He played an amazing match. More of the world needs to take notice of this rivalry we have with each other. For too long, people have turned a blind eye on both the USA and Mexico. They dont take us seriously when we take ourselves seriously. And with numerous players from both countries going to top european clubs and putting up numbers, it’s a matter of time before both sides earn more respect than before. In world cups, mexico and the USA have only been past the round of 16 twice. Mexico in 1970 and 1986 made it to the quarterfinals which coincidentally are the times they hosted the tournament. The USA in 1930 finished 3rd and made a quarterfinal run in 2002. But if we both qualify for WC2022, i reckon both teams will show the world that they can play football. And it helps that WC2026 will be in the US and Mexico and even Canada.
    Speaking of Canada, i think they’ll be next to have great players besides Davies.

    As a brit ex-pat let me tell you these "highlights" are misleading. As a Spanish language broadcast, they tend to focus more on the Mexican team so a number of nice plays by the US were not shown. The intensity level of the game was through the roof. They do not show the tough, tough tackles - Herrara should have been sent off twice. There were altercations all over the field. The Mexican coach was thrown out. The US coach got was warned over interfering with play in trying to retrieve a ball. I've watched Football games for 50 years and I will tell you this was as tough, as intense, and fought like very, very few games I have seen. This was also the 2nd youngest team EVER to represent the US in a full international. By far the majority of the US players were 22 and younger and could play for a Youth team. Reyna for example is only 18 and plays for Dortmund. Truly a great game.

Mexico deserved to win this game! played way better, had control of the ball more time, had more chances of scoring, had better players, the US players did a lot of kicking form behind and on top of all that they called a penalty that didn't exist and no one else in the world would call it??!! What can you expect the refeeri was from Panama??....I really wonder how is it possible that most of the American players from the US play in Europe if they aren't that good?! The only time we saw Pulisc playing was when he scored the penalty?! The rest didn't really do anything good/different from any other players. Compare to Mexico that has very good players like Tecatito corona, el chucky, Lainez, etc...The Nations League was invented so the Americans could win something since the Gold Cup is the Concacaf real CUP event and Mexico wins most of the time. The best comparison I've heard between these two teams is that the USA have the better individuals, but Mexico has the better TEAM. They know each other, they play really well together. Though I'm sure it helps having a great coach too. The US coach thinks he's the American Guardiola, but really has the tactical mind of a P.E. teacher.

However I’ve seen multiple people react to this video in particular & I have to say it’s one of the worst ones, it’s just chopped up so badly, and it’s missing all the stuff like the fans throwing stuff on the field & at the USA players, the pitch invaders, Steffen our Goalkeeper getting hurt and having to be substituted for our backup Horvath who’s barely played at all this year(and he’s from the Denver area as well, where the game was played), etc

    I was actually about to DM you to complain about the Mexico fans but forgot lol! Whole game was chippy af, don't know why that wasn't shown in this highlight video but it's on the CBS version. But anyway, some of the Mexico fans were truly gutless, shouting insults and throwing bottles at the players

    • @JKTritt
      @JKTritt 3 года назад +1

      It wasn’t on this vid because this is the Mexican broadcast and they rarely show the Mexican team or the fans in a bad light. CBS is willing to show the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, even when it’s the US . Unfortunately, CBS blocks all their content from being used by anyone else. It would have made for a much better reaction video.

    You HAVE to watch the full match. Bro, I promise you will not regret it. As good as it was in the highlight video, it didn’t show a red card, extreme fan interaction, protocols, and the drama in terms of timing.

    There was so much that happened that isn't in this video either. McKennie was choked (which the ref didn't see), the game was paused for homophobic chants in stoppage time, there were 2 pitch invaders at the same time, the US broadcast had the set crashed by a guy that jumped off the back, the Mexican coach got a red card during the VAR, Reyna got hit in the head by a beer can when celebrating the Pulisic PK, and a Mexico player got drilled in the head by a cup of something (maybe urine) at the end. It was insane. See if you can find the entire game to watch.

      I don't really know much about the current squad, i stopped paying attention to Liverpool after Stevie G retired. He was my favorite player. I do know their backline is great with Alexander Arnold and Joe Gomez. I don't really know anything about the EPL anymore. Other than Man City still has money, and Chelsea won the Champions league without a striker. I'm a Dortmund fan(Bundesliga), cause that's where Gio Reyna plays, the rest of the team is stacked too it's insane. And obviously i'm a Rangers Fan(Scottish Prem) because Stevie G. If i had to pick an EPL team it would be Wolves. Although i don't agree with their buy every player from Portugal philosophy, but they aren't bad and they aren't top of the table, so i can dig it.

    Kabir - the Mexico keeper is Guillermo "Memo" Ochoa. He's currently playing for Club America in Mexico City, and was with Standard de Liege in Belgium before that. Perhaps his most famous club was Malaga in La Liga. Because he's never played for a world-famous club year in and year out, it's easy to miss just how good he is. He made four huge saves in the group stage of the 2014 World Cup against Brazil, including a really amazing one on Neymar, earning them a nil-nil draw in that match.

  • @grantdowling8550
