For those upset about the tree's, we weren't happy about it either. I can tell you we did take the time to finish cutting them into firewood. They are now providing heat to the owners home and we were given permission to cut them down. We didn't bring a chainsaw. Steve was just awesome and more than glad to have the firewood since at his age of 72. Its gotten difficult for him to do such on his own. Had he not been willing and provided the saw, that dronetag would still ve up there.

@@BobCaseyAerial Hey Bob, I hear you. I'd be upset finding someone on my property cutting my trees down too. It wouldn't have even been an option if not for getting permission and the use of the saw and was the final option after we had tried everything else.

Having experience with retrieving aircraft from tall trees; what you needed was a 12 year-old boy to climb up and get it.
Having experience with felling trees: the cuts were wrong. I'm surprised that nobody was hurt, and I hope that you had permission to fell the trees. If you'd have done that on my forestland there would be more than a few words said.

Remote ID is simply unreasonable. Until the FAA redefines air space to exclude our personal property space, they are criminals. Your trees and buildings are your personal property and the FAA cannot claim to have authority over the space surrounding it, a reasonable height above where planes can actually fly, sure, but not the space local your own structures on private property. The idea that I can fly in my home out of their authority but if I leave my front door a few feet off the ground to cross the yard to my garage I have passed through their jurisdiction? On my own property at walking height? Again no. This FAA needs to become reasonable or simply be actively ignored by EVERY pilot. We must be fully united on this and make our community voice heard.
Are you seriously suggesting that drone pilots shouldn't be able to fly over private property? That would mean 99 percent of all flights would be illegal

The space where you can wave your arms around outside your front door is still part of your property. Please tell me where I suggested that is be illegal to fly over private property?

so fun fact the apple air tag, ur never finding that unless it connects to an iphone. Thats how they transmit their signal. The airtag piggyback of any iPhone around thats where it ACTUALLY gets its location from. so unless it comes down and happens to be near an iphone, ur not finding it. also, the airtag will report to the iphone it connects to (its a safety thing apple added to make sure their customers dont get murdered, stocked) so u may get a call from someone asking why u are tracking them.

@Ken Heron Yeah good deal brother! I've been processing firewood for myself for over 3 decades now, so this is nothing new to me. Hard to tell by the video but it looked like the trees were 'popple' wood which usually grows & dies fast anyway.. 👍 safe travels Ken.

Every Karen worldwide is gonna be phoning it in. "There's a drone outside my window!" (video shows drone in a park 300 feet away and 20 feet below bothering nobody) "It's tapping on my window! CHILDREN!" (drone doing nothing to anyone, in a park) I got banned for telling that Karen that drones like mine can use a zoom lens for thousands of meters and doesn't need to sit outside any window. You'd never know it was even there. How dare I challenge paranoia.

@@KenHeron I’m from around Springfield MO and when you made that video at Uranus Fudge Factory on Route 66, I was rolling & Idk if the owner told you about how the sign is a custom sign and who made it, but I know the supervisor of the shop that made it. The workers obviously couldn’t get it done in one day. They started putting the letters on late in the day and all they could get on there, in the time they had, was a couple letters. So when the supervisor was doing his rounds at the end of the day, he saw that they had a huge sign in the shop that just said “ANUS” lol I thought you’d appreciate knowing that.

Yeah, the data over the long-range was actually transferred over cellular. They had Bluetooth connection only when they were close to it.

Now looking at this incident removed from the situation, I'm sure you realize one option would be to immediately crash the drone into a couple balloons bursting them.. . and of course in hindsight, you should plan on only having enough lift to barely cause positive motion, so that bursting one or a few of them would have gently returned the tangled mess to earth... I guess you now know why manned aircraft pilots / copilots conduct pre-flight briefings with plans for failures and emergencies on takeoffs...

I do ham radio, so I have a telescoping fiberglass pole to get wire antennas high into the air. So far all I've used it for is getting drones out of trees. Mine is 33 feet long but they make them much longer.
“Police” car with Radar Detector. Also good you had cellular coverage in a remote area. Lastly the AirTag only works if other iPhones are around.

I’m having trouble understanding the literature for remote ID and was wondering if someone could help. The main thing I’m confused with is whether or not a sub 250g drone being flown recreationally needs to have Remote ID.
The short answer is no, a recreational drone under 250 g, will not need remote ID. But you will be restricted to flying in designated areas, called FRIA, or however they spelled it. I think everybody's going to pretty much ignore the RID requirement unless they're a commercial pilot like myself.
