  • A special wetsuit has been developed that is able to make swimmers almost invisible to sharks.
Known as "Elude", the wetsuit works by obscuring the user's figure with unique colouration and shaping patterns to disguise swimmers in the water.
There has also been another wetsuit developed that does the opposite. With its zebra-like pattern, it actively deters sharks from approaching the swimmer as it could be seen as a dangerous food source.
The wetsuits themselves are not shark-proof but they are designed to reduce the chance of attacks.

They can sense an electronomagnetic field that all living things emit. That's why I always swim with a toaster.

For that reason, the "disguise as poisonous food" suit shown later in the video might work better than the wetsuit that attempts to camouflage.

  • @JPO1184

Multiple online sources warn against contrasting colors, & specifically mention not to wear black & white bathing suits, as sharks may mistake you for a fish to eat. I don't get why this company is saying the opposite of that concerning these black & white striped wetsuits.

HECS stealth suits could benefit from this pattern on top of their Faraday cage design which allegedly stops sharks sensing you electrically.

Sharks are such beautiful animals, when they attack humans, they often pay with their lives. This tech has SO many possible applications. I can see it being used eventually to keep sharks out of water where people swim, surf and work. Anything that keeps wild animals, wild, is vitally important. Shark attacks have increased because sharks, like any wild animal that can pose a risk to humans such as bears, have become accustomed to seeing us in THEIR homes, so they lose their natural fear of humans. This is devastating to see really, wild animals interacting with humans may seem nice and fun, but actually it puts the animals at much more risk than humans in the end. Leave all wildlife alone, respect them, observe from a distance, and keep out of their homes. I do also understand that people like surfing and swimming, and some people work on and in the ocean too. This tech helps scare sharks, helps restore that natural fear of humans, which is vital for their survival. Please make this technology better, and make it work for the sharks as well as humans.
Other things we can do to help sharks, and all marine life, is to STOP using ALL non reusable plastics. Plastic cutlery, plastic straws, and plastic bags are possibly the most EVIL inventions ever. No need to use them, and always recycle, recycle, recycle. Respect water, don't put anything into water that you would not like to drink or bathe in yourself!.

Curious question if anyone could lead me anywhere if this exists or just give me some insight, could a diving suit not be made to give off a high electromagnetic pulse on command to somewhat stun/ deter a shark if it got too close?

Why don't they just pair "disruptive colouring" with shark-proof materials? Rather than "they can't see you as well." On days when the water's murky and they can't see anything, they just bite EVERYTHING and"disruptive colouring" won't matter. It's sort of scary when it shows the guy standing in the ocean and commentator goes " this wetsuit is not shark-proof," like an incomplete invention.

all predators avoid Humans as soon as they hear, sense, see, or smell us... then if we camouflage too well for a great white shark we might just swim right into it! and at such a situation the shark will inevitably bite to protect itself! 🥶 go figure, humans always outsmart themselves!
