Keep an eye on Firelock Games' upcoming Port Royale. This is the RPG "platoon" skirmish version of their established squad-level skirmish Blood and Plunder title.
Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago is a Pirate game from Osprey Games may be a fit for you. The system is "minis agnostic" (though any game is minis agnostic if you want it to be), it uses a D20 standard across all rolls, supports a crew of ten models usually, and the Captains have fun powers. Also has fun interactions on the board with possible random critters that could turn a game in interesting ways.
I haven’t played it myself but I hear ghost archipelago is good. You could also use them for something that’s more of a skirmish level RPG like frostgrave
they look bloody amazing Max! shame the game wasn't fun, but I can see why you'd still want to buy more of the minis. and yeah I think doing a video going through the NMM kit is probably a good shout
Thank you mate, if I expand the force or not may or may not be related to the vote I put on Patreon the other day 👀😂 I’ll also be giving the NMM kit a video there seems to be call for it 🙂
If you'd gone with undead I'd be screaming from the mountaintops to make an Undead Vampire army for old world based on those in Total War Warhammer and the old-AF White Dwarf that inspired me as a kid. Rag's suggestion is real sound, too.
Hey Max. You wanted to test this team of pirates in another game. How about using them as mercenaries in Warmachine/Hordes? Also a really good paint job on the minis
Age of Fantasy Skirmish, even if there's no existing army list that quite matches what you want you can always use the army builder to make your own instead!
@@user-oy7fb4sl6j there seems to be enough call for it so I’ll be putting a video out in the next couple of months on it when I get through a few bits I need to get out. And thank you! 🤘❤️
sounds a little like burrows and badgers, only when you roll the highest value ( so a 4 on a d4 for 'esample) you add 7 to the value, so everyone has a chance to wound. As for games to play, they look mordhiem enough to me. Some cursed atoll somewhere riddled with wyrdstone craters would be a perfect setting for some moist mordhiem
No wonder this took 2 weeks to get out, you had to watch all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies! Also, I never knew that I could just put two wet paints on something, and smush them together, if I wanted 2 wet paints to smush together.... The more you know! ;)
I think exploring other games is a great idea and I'm sure there will be something else to use the pirates for. There is another option as you have started your own terrain company, why not come up with your own miniature agnostic game?
If turning these into a warhammer army I would love to see you turn a frigate from the kharadron overlords army into this crews main ship. This would be sick to see.

Hey Max. Just wanted to say thanks for the hand written note with my order, really cheered me up that day 😁
You're more than welcome! Thank you for putting in an order and helping to support the channel!
Yeah, that NMM kit seems to work pretty well. Definitely do a review and little tutorial
I just love these paint jobs. Black Scorpion miniatures are just great.
Feels like they would work as a Cities of Sigmar stand-in. There was that recent team for Callis and Toll which could work!
Aye i've been looking at CoS maybe, there's even a subfaction called misthaven which suits.

Cool minis and some good tips, thanks! First minis i ever bought years ago were the Black Scorpin dark elf blood bowl team.
Would love to see that NMM kit in action. 🤘
YAR! Make an Empire army for Old World using exclusively non-Citadel miniatures and let it be pirate themed!
I haven’t played it myself but I hear ghost archipelago is good. You could also use them for something that’s more of a skirmish level RPG like frostgrave
I was going to recommend Ghost Archipelago as well
is ghost archipelago a frostgrave thing?
@@LizardofDoom Basically the same thing with a few minor differences, in a very "Pirates of the Caribbean" vibe
There's a pirate game called Blood and Thunder I believe, you might be able to use these there.
I will have a little look! 🤘
😀 It‘s Falles Blood and Plunder I believe.
Beautiful paint jobs. Black Scorpion have amazing ranges, a good majority of my wild west figures are from them.
Thank you mate! Yeah they do some lovely sculpts :)
Hi Max, I enjoy your weekly uploads, haven't missed an episode in months. I would definitely like to see that NMM kit in action!
@@FirstLegion123 thank you mate! There seems to be a call for it so I’ll have to make that video soon 🙂

Sword Weirdos is worth a look.
The makers of Blood and Plunder just finished a KS for a skirmish version called Port Royal.

Thank you, I'm glad you like them, I put a lot in to these :)
@@LizardofDoom you are welcome 🤗
They look amazing 🤩
Ghost archipelago expansion for frostgrave immediately sprang to mind when you were on about alternatives for your pirate miniatures
It’s kind of perfect for it
Always have a bit of fun. And make ship terrain to display them. In a nice diorama.
A ship may be on the horizon matey!
@@LizardofDoom Would it be fun now that I think of it. If you make various types of ships. Try to figure out rules. And have ship skirmish battles.
Use them in Frostgrave maybe? Perfect squad already! 😊
A friend suggested this and I think I’ll give it a try 🙂
These look like theyd go hard beside Blood and Plunder minia and the boats 👀

"Shut up and take my doubloons!"
They would work well for frost grave
Gutted I missed them at the expo. Was working nightshift the Friday night so could only stay for a few hours unfortunately
It was the smallest stall with two little cases I would of missed them if I wasn't on a mission to see every miniatures vendor there.
Age of Fantasy Skirmish, even if there's no existing army list that quite matches what you want you can always use the army builder to make your own instead!

Oil the rigging and scrub the mast!
I've ordered more pirates so I think I'll make a whole video recreating the lost footage from this one :)
@@LizardofDoom that's going to be fething incredible
Mordheim Warband!!! Or an Empire Army for Old World if you can wrangle enough of them.
There's always the Warhammer Fantasy Pirates of Sartosa, those I suppose that doesn't help with figuring out how to run them.
See if you can track down a copy of Legends of the High Seas. It uses the same engine as MESBG (Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game).
That's a really good recommendation thank you I had no idea it existed!
@@LizardofDoom FYI, there aren't any rules for Dwarfs in there, but they should be easy to tweak using MESBG as a guide.
Blood and Plunder game
Use them as “ Long Drong Slayers” for a Dogs of War army in the old world🤔
That's not a bad shout, very fitting!
Mordheim Max. All day. That would be my choice.

Good shout! 🙂
Has to be some Warcry bands that these models would fit.
Arkanauts is what I'm thinking
Yarrr matey, another fine video!
Yaarrrr much obliged laddie!
The western figs would be great for Deadlands. The Pirate figs would be great for Mordheim.

Use them in OPR! It's the perfect game for your pirates!
That's what I was thinking :)
Convert them using futuristic parts and use them in Kill Team!
They'd make a bad ass kill team with a few bionic parts and las pistols.
I'd use these for D&D. I don't know if you are into that but they are perfect for a pirate setting, campaign.
