Hello! The note in the fourth fret on the G string is the note B. Because the open note of the next string is also B you don't have to play that note. Otherwise you would play the same note twice :-)
@@saidpimenvel8397 I think I did. Notice that my original comment was written 11 years ago before you could reply to comments on RUclips. I think my comment was an answer to a person who asked why the fourth fret on the G string wasn't played in the video.
Thank you so much for making it make sense. My problem is keeping my fingers close to the frets once I'm moving onto the next fret, have the same problem when changing chords. What can I do to break this bad habit?💯💯❤️❤️🕊🕊💯💯👏👏👏🇬🇧🇯🇲
Haha i was forcing my self to play Rock and Roll(Led Zep), and I cant figure out why i can't get pass the intro. This lesson made me realize of which are my mistakes, my pick holding, up and down picking, finger spread, thumb heigh/position. Thank you very much for this lesson. This really helps a lot.
He is a guitar player genius! Thanks for pointing out the obvious, it's been three years I bet you haven't even played a guitar since watching this video.
very good video! my problem is with the motion of my pinky, for some reason it is the only finger that automatically moved up everytime i'm going to hit the not :(
SCALES are very Important. I cannot find a Single 'SCALE Chart' that shows the BASIC MAJOR SCALES, from A-G. Some RUclips videos get Close, but are mostly incomplete. Would appreciate any HELP.. Thanks! PS Yor Videos are Very Helpful, Great Job.
Peter, it seems as though most chords are played within the chromatic scale? Why so? It's not uncommon for guitarists to grow their fingernails so they can finger pick.
In China, long fingernails are a sign of wealth. The reason being that you don't engage in manual labour and so you don't break the nails lifting heavy goods, and such.
bro this isnt even the chromatic scale chromatic scale is all the notes and their semitones on all strings you might as well have called this chromatic scale minus 6 notes

I'm a beginner guitarist learning the chromatic scale. This has been very helpful. Thank you!🙏🙏
Wow! I'm re-learning the guitar and I never realized that bit about the palm/thumb giving your fingers more coverage of the strings! Thanks!

Hi, Peter. You have a great presentation, I have placed a link to this video on my chormatic scale. lesson.
some of the best lessons on youtube please keep them coming=]
I've never seen such old comme If I remember correctly.
Excellent video.
so as you are moving up the frets, you should keep your fingers on the frets even after you sound a given note?
Why do you fret the first two frets notably closer to the fretwire than the 3rd and 4th?

If I barf because of his thumb nail, he could probably clean it up in one try with his long long thumb nail. Gross.
