That damn E30 M3 is just a gorgeous car, and I bet it goes just as good as it looks. All the mods done to that thing make it a Monster. It's a good thing you didn't knock that oil pan hard enough for it to completely shatter. Driving that thing on the Ring would be pure driving bliss, I bet.
Any plans to race the car Phil? Seems the next obvious step on from trackdays to do a few meetings with 750MC etc., especially seeing as you like to continually develop the car - would be good to see that put to good use in a competitive environment.
None at the moment. I'd like to get the car to the point I'm 100% happy with it (or 95% at least) before entertaining 'the next step'. I feel like I'm still at 80% 😄
Get a titanium block on the crossmember/sump! Someone will soon let you know if it bottoms out! That or an underside GoPro for carousel shenanigans....
It used to have a thick titanium skid plate before we moved the engine back and down. and it was for exactly that reason. White sparks are the coolest. I might refit it, but it requires some significant changes and it's actually a pretty heavy peice.
@@driftworks If you think the lowest part of sump is now clear enough and it looks to be, then maybe just a small block or two. That sump being ground on the track the way it was looked pretty touch and go!
They do V8 conversions on them from what I’ve seen. That’s not really driftworks style. I did my technician apprenticeship at a TVR dealer in 2001 was so much fun! until they went bust in 06!
They're customer cars, I'd imagine, so not stuff they can record them working on all the time. I wouldn't mind it but if I asked what's taking so long and they said "we're recording the whole build for youtube", the customer might not be understanding... or they'll want royalties 🤣
0:30 Can anyone tell me what these type of multi rear view mirrors are called - I've always thought they look cool when I've seen them in modified cars.
I love how Craig has always that "why it's you with your shit again" look on his face
He loves it 😆
@@driftworks haha, seems so
Always love a Driftworks video
Cheers 👍
Craig to the rescue...
Again!
Great work to all involved.
Thanks man.
Love seeing the thought process and work overcoming these hurdles 🙂. Great video as always 👍🏼
Cheers 👍

aluminium doesn't generally shatter it deforms, you're thinking of carbon lol
Honestly Driftworks has some of the best and most entertaining videos.
Thanks man 👍
Thanks men! 😊
Everybody needs a Craig. The time and money a bloke can save by having a mate who can do all the fiddly shit you can't is IMMENSE.
Just here to say I love Drift works. That is all.
🙏
I once jacked up my E90 M3 with that oil sump protrusion, (because I didn’t know better) to almost catastrophic results 🤣
Love this car it’s epic ❤
11:53 The old one's are the best.
The evil ones are best & Craigs the best at being evil 😂
When jay said treasure I pissed myself 😂😂😂
Everyone needs a Craig for a can you just 😂👌
Brilliant
After shortening the main oilpickup make sure the flange did’nt warp, that will be catastrophic sucking air and not oil because of the warped flange.
Love how you keep ignoring the new WANG on the 964 :D
awesome video as always, love your stuff!
Great job, bearings look mint. What grade oil is in there, 10w60?
Yeah just standard Castrol TWS 0w60.
soo dry sump when? 😂then you could get it even lower and further back Phil 😆
Get onto VAC Motorsports and tell them they should give me one :D
Better get my Pizza in the oven so I can watch this :)
Just pulled my pizza out of the oven lol
MMmmmmmmmm Piiiiiizzzzzzzzzzaaaaaaa

Is that a 12v cranking system? Wound over fast building oil pressure assuming plugs still in it?? 👍
It is & yeah plugs in. That's the luxury of using a real battery.
Dry sump dry sump! All we need is dry sump.
No oil pan no problems. Mo pressure mo lubrication.
Is there a new rear spoiler on the 964 turbo phill
There is.

With a new engine cranking to build oil pressure, I always take the spark plugs out.
I do too. This isn't new though.
Jay, Phil, I always see TVR's in at Dyno torque why have you guys never had any of these british muscle cars on your channel?

I've heard them called Wink Mirrors, but you would HATE IT at night with any cars behind you esp if you are low.
4:12 LMFAO!
He's the best :D
Any reason for not going dry sump
I'd love one, but it's a huge amount of work & you lot would need to persuade @vacmotors to give me one 😄
Why didn't u counter sink the oil drain plug....every RUclips mechanic in the comments lol
And me when I saw it. Jay was right though, it can't physically hit anything.
@driftworks it's just visually it makes everyone feel better lol....plus it makes for a clean look
@@driftworks saves a chance for next time in case the thread goes bad! great video and always skilled mates on your team!
