You have you best programming videos for this model radio.I have the 220 mhz version & I followed your instructions with ease. The owners manual is WRONG when it tells you how to set the repeater offset. It was driving me Crazy until I watched your videos.I only have Three frequencies programmed & I have them named but my base antenna is only 12 feet off of the ground so one repeater & Two Simplex frequencies.I am picking up another one tomorrow for my mobile & I will have the same three frequencies in it as well.
Thank you for this video - this is quite helpful! I know you posted this video 5 years ago so I don't know if you still have this rig, but you might be able to help with my problem. I recently purchased a used TH 9000 D, the 220 MHz version. This unit was a display model at R and L Electronics. My problem is no one hearing me on TX. I have the offset and offset direction correctly set. When I key the mic, the meter shows full deflection, as if the radio is transmitting. Another ham and I tried simplex to see if it was a CTCSS problem. Nope, same problem on simplex. He even tuned up and down as I transmitted to see if the frequency was off. No joy. I can hear everything: repeater and on simplex, but it is as if there is no modulation on my TX signal. Please know I am grateful for any insight or advice you might have. Many thanks!
When I got my TH-9800, it said on the instructions that you need to go to a link to download for the 136-174 MHz freqs. I am 70, and I keek going to the site, and nothing. How can I program them in, along with 400-480 MHz. Any direction would help, or a radio repair place. Thanks Bob
There was a lot of static coming from the radio on the freq you programed and tested on. Was that due to the distance you were from the repeater or is that static present on all repeaters? Just curious. Nice instructive video!
@@jbshomestead7694 That's what I was thinking. I've talked to several hams with these radios and they all pretty much agreed with you. I'm looking to get the 220 version, which I assume operates the same as the radio you have regarding the memory settings, etc. Thanks for the fast response bro..73
I’m having a problem when I key up on a certain Chanel. It is programmed with a positive offset and a PL tone. It works the first few times then it won’t let me key up. When I key up the LCD screen flashes OFF. Was wondering if anyone has run into this problem
When I push my PTT button the screen says "OFF" and beeps 3 times really fast. Also my TX light does not light when I push the PTT button. As long as I hold the PTT button the unit will display the "OFF" message. This unit is new out of the box and I'm trying to get it going. Any help?
Just tried to program mine. When typing in keypad to set frequencies, it wont take any numbers past 3, but defaults back to 155.055. Cant figure this thing out!
The VHF model will NOT go to the UHF frequencies so I say you purchased the WRONG version of the radio. They make Three different bands,2 meters,220 mhz,& 440 mhz.

How do you let it transmit on 150 channels. Mine will receive and transmit on the 144-148 but can't transmit on anything above or below

I have this radio but my frequency is from 150-160 how can I open it up so that I'm able to use all of the frequencies
Hello I am brand new to these. Is the td-m558 about the same instructions as in your video?
I am wanting to change my power level.
I don't know anything about that brand name radio that you have, all I can say is try a few things there and see if they match up hope that helps
How do you get the channel name to show up on the scree? I can't find it in the book
Go into your menu and find where it says channel frequency and name and set it to name
Hi J&B Homestead. How has this radio held up? Thanks in advance. KO4HPC 73
Still working like a champ KK4WNA 73

I would like to know how to fix this to
@@ianard6040 i still havent figured it out
I have a question I set my offset at Point 600 but it keeps going to 6000 after I reset. How do I fix this
have you got it programmed /saved and then after try and up the output watts if so it will tend to do that

it's been awhile since I've messed around with mine, but as long as it is a 2m radio and this brand model you shouldn't have a problem
How do you put it on the 130 frequency mine is stuck in the 220.200
Well it requires that you have the 2 meter model & NOT the 220 mhz model. LOL
Mine is stuck between 150 - 160 mhz. How do I get it to go to 170?
Use the buttons on the microphone keypad. If that does not work then do a Factory Reset.
Does 9000D have dual watch option?
No
Mine is stuck in UHF Band,no VHF :( ( i think i stuffed it up)
