Tidsreisen Setesdalsbanen

Filmen om Setesdalsbanen ble vist 24. mars 2014 som en del av TV Agders TV-serie "Tidsreisen". Det er Media Service AS i Arendal som står bak TV-Agder og som produserer serien.
Her får du et innblikk i Setesdalsbanens historie, samt hva du kan oppleve om du besøker museumsjernbanen idag. Setesdalsbanen er en del av Vest-Agder-museet og ligger i Vennesla. Omtrent 20 km fra Kristiansand.

About Setesdalsbanen (Vennesla, Norway):
With the authentic old railway station buildings, the stylish teak carriages, the century old locomotives and the smell of burning coal, you can join in on a unique journey. The beautiful scenery is only an added bonus.
When opened in 1896 this narrow-gauge railway (1067 mm / 3'6") dramatically changed people's lives by connecting the isolated valley of Setesdal and the town of Kristiansand. For nearly 70 years the railway transported people, livestock and various products from the valley. The railway was closed down in 1962 but reopened as a heritage railway two years later, as the country's first railway museum.
The staff onboard the train are all volunteers with a passion for the heritage railway. Today 7.97 km out of the original 78 km track is preserved. The steam train winds its way through the valley, a tunnel, across a dam and along a timber slide.
