I first heard Mike about 35 years ago in my neighborhood subway at 72nd Street/Broadway. Whenever time allowed, I’d let a couple of trains leave me behind so that I could hear at least two songs. Why his magnificent voice is not enjoying the fruits of a major career is beyond my comprehension.
But now time has changed it's all bout independent artist everything they need to promote they can do themselves so he can be as big as he want these days those radio n cd days needed a label are dead!!
Maybe it was better that he spent all these years charming people on the subway, and receiving people's true recognition and love. Perhaps a career in show business would take him away from this beautiful and bucolic path.
Growing up in NYC and riding the subway every weekend with my dad brings me such beautiful memories. I remember seeing so many great performances as a kid. And I know God brought me to this clip to hear The Manhattans being sung so beautifully in the subway. RIP Dad. I miss you!

My Dad was a preacher who could not sing. This man is voice that sounds like my Dad when he'd deliver sermons. This is so refreshing to hear! Thank you for sharing!

I 've know Mike since childhood...his vocals just gets better with time! Not to mention his brother (Jameel Young) on drums and Mr. Tyrone Smalls on lead guitar...smdh.. ..cant wait to "study' with you guys some more..Peace
