He was Bengali actor Samit Bhanja. Very talented but underrated actor. He deserved much more stsrdom than he got. The original role of Cheno (played by Strughan Sinha saab) of "Mere Apne" played by him in Bengali movie great director Tapan Sinha's "Aponjon".
I really love this movie because of Samit bhanja, He was really a talented and versatile actor, director and writer from bengali movies, But couldn't watch him in hindi movies as much as i want, He is not with us, Big love and respect for him, May his soul rest in peace.

मुझे यह फिल्म बहुत बहुत अच्छी लगी। जया जी ने बहुत अच्छे से गुड्डी का किरदार निभाया। धर्मेंद्र जी ने भी बहुत बढ़िया काम किया है। सच में धर्मेंद्र जी बहुत Handsome लगते हैं। इस फिल्म के माध्यम से फिल्म लाइन से जुड़ी पर्दे पर की और पर्दे के पीछे की बहुत सी बातें जाननें को मिली। कलाकारों के साथ पर्दे के पीछे के लोगों की मेहनत, उनके दुःख दर्द देखने को मिला। और सबसे अहम बात उस वक्त की शुटिंग कैसी होती थी यह भी पता चला बहुत अच्छा लगा।

The movie is not only about Guddi's character development, it is about breaking the illusion, it’s about the celebration of the film technicians (Hrishikesh Mukherjee was a renowned editor as well), and also a classic portrayal of inherent inequity inside glamour industry.

Gulzar has written this story first in Urdu then it was made as a movie. Dharamendra is brilliant. Jaya has good role with her somehow artificial innocense. Samit Bhanja is ordinary. Nice movie with a positive message
