    We bought our XC40 Volvo a couple of weeks ago. It was very late in the evening as they were closing. The sales person showed us some of the features but didn't have time to show us everything. Thanks for posting these informative videos.

      I just bought my xc 40 too around Christmas. It was late and I’ve basically been reading and googling to try to find features!! Thank you. This car is so cool. I’ve always wanted an Audi and this was a close duplicate I feel.

      Congratulations on the XC40 I like Audis too but I wanted to share a video with both of you. It’s called the Volvo drop test. You will notice the first car dropped is an XC40. just look at how intact the cabin is. That is the power of boron steel which is what makes Volvos a tank. Definitely a great buy just for that alone! ruclips.net/video/1axWGCNoz5Q/видео.htmlsi=d7yUZbrDoaJdAFc4

    Just bought XC 40 yesterday. Driving tonight I saw the car reflected in a shop front and the left fog light was on but not the right. I was going to call the dealership tomorrow until I saw your film. I was turning left at the time. Thanks.

      Martin congratulations on your XC40, welcome to the family. It is a really great car and I know you will enjoy owning it. The cornering lights can look a little odd from the outside like it is not working.
      Recently I have been driving my wife's S60 Recharge which doesn't have it. I have to admit that it is a feature that I like more than I realized. Very functional especially on dark roads and to see curbs etc . I'm definitely looking forward to getting Pixel LED's too one day. Thanks for watching and enjoy the new car!

    What is the purpose of the green light icon on the dash if it’s on no matter what setting you chose? As long as you start the car, that green light will be on until you turn off the car. Should it not just turn on when the full light system is on and have it turn amber for daylight only? How does that green icon tell you which setting you’re using?

  • @eric_fay

    Great video, thank you for posting this. Now are the cornering lights “always on” or is there a default not to have that? Just got a new XC90 and I think would prefer to not have that feature. Seems like each time in the car I have to click that off.

    • @JebRevsUp
      @JebRevsUp  2 года назад +3

      Eric that's a really great question. I'm guessing you are using a Sensus infotainment system? What I have been able to find in the manual is that default factory setting is having them on but you can manually switch them off. I actually don't have the option of switching it off on my system. I quite like that feature and it only is active below 20 mph . Thanks for that question

    • @jmckeogh
      @jmckeogh Год назад +1

      After clicking it off, try saving the setting to your driver profile. The next time you enter the car the key fob should read your new settings and keep it off.

    Hello! Thanks for the great video, I just recently received my XC40 2023, But I was testing out the rear fog lights, but only 1 (driver side) turns on, is this normal?

    • @JebRevsUp
      @JebRevsUp  Год назад +1

      Yes that is normal in many of them. It has a single rear light on the driver side that is brighter than normal.
      Mine is a 2021 model recharge and is a little different. Whichever configuration you have, Volvo lights from the rear are very bright vertical and distinctive. They are easily seen and warn others well.

    Hey Jebbie! Thanks so much for your videos!! I really find them very helpful.
    My Xc40 recharge it seems doesn’t move back to just DRLs after I move out of my slightly dim lit driveway. Even with Auto mode on, I can see in the reflections of cars in front and despite proper sunlight that the full headlights are on. How to rectify this?
    TIA

    Thank you for the great video! On the XC90 Recharge the rear fog lamp is a bright red light that comes on the rear driver side. Is that correct? Should the rear fog lamp be both on the left and right sides in the rear?

    • @JebRevsUp
      @JebRevsUp  Год назад +2

      Tyler thanks for commenting again. You are correct that it a single lamp on the driver's side and it is much stronger then normal so should only be used in low visibility. Unfortunately the front fog lamps are not there.
      I hope that helps and wish you a great holiday season.

  • @cherylwong8877

    Thanks for the video! Just 1 question, the fog lights are both manual to turn on and off? I'm just wondering when should it be turned on in general, at night?

    • @JebRevsUp
      @JebRevsUp  Год назад

      The front fog lights are the lowest lights on your car. When you have low fog close to the ground, it is hard to see the lane lines. The low lights get under the fog and make the road markings more visible. Therefore only use if you have fog blocking your view of the road.
      The back for lights make your entire rear look more visible. I use these in fog, in heavy rain and snow and any situation where I want others to be able to to see me better. Hope that helps and thanks for the questions.

    Very helpful video! I just bought a 2017 Volvo XC90 T6 Momentum and the front fog lamps work but they don't turn off individually when I move my steering wheel all the way right or left like you demonstrated. I don't care that they don't turn off when I turn the wheel but found it interesting that neither of mine turn off.

    • @JebRevsUp

      Thanks for the comment. Both my Volvos are Google and unfortunately I don't have any certified XC90 on my lot right now but I will check the settings menu as soon as the next is certified.. My understanding is that corner light will only work if is dark in auto mode or if in manual lights on setting and under 30 MPH. Please check your settings menu under my car and then select exterior lighting. Alternatively swipe your main screen to the the right to get to vehicle functions and lighting is usually at the bottom such as ABL. When I have a car to confirm, In case it is different I will get back to you. Happy holidays

      We just bought 3 2019 XC90s yesterday and so I checked on this and there is corner light button under vehicle functions on that car. Swipe main screen to left and scroll to the bottom for switching on and off lighting functions. In case it isn't there check the window sticker if your car. Lastly if it is there and still not working then you may have a fault that may need to be checked out. Thanks for a great contribution!

    Are there no foglights on XC90 T8 ? Or are they included on the main headlights?

    • @JebRevsUp
      @JebRevsUp  2 года назад +1

      Unfortunately there are no front fo lamps on the XC90 recharge but there are rear lamps. Not sure about integrated lamps in the headlight but if I do come across an answer for that I will let you know.

    • @rayc1503
      @rayc1503 Год назад +1

      I don't have them either. The reason behind this is that on the right fog light an air intake is required for the hybrid cooling system. So unfortunately the T8's don't have fog lights. There is front fog switch on the stork, meh 🤷‍♂️.

    • @JebRevsUp

      Thanks for watching. When the daytime running lights are on all you will see is the front thors hammers. The rear lights come on once they switch the main front lights on too. The lights on this car are really great at night. I particularly love the auto high beams and active bending features.

      If you are in a car with infotainment then swipe the main screen to the right to get to vehicle functions screen and it’s usually one of the last buttons when you scroll down. If you are in a Google car then there isn’t an off switch.

    What about the Pixel lights ?

    • @JebRevsUp
      @JebRevsUp  Год назад

      Andre thanks for the comment. This is subject that a lot of people ask about. I personally have not had a chance to take one of the C40s out on a really dark road to experience this at its best.
      However, the controls are basically the same. There is an option under settings to switch from left to right hand drive which I imagine is quite useful for those of you who live in UK/Europe.
      It has 84 led lights which are adaptive and use a camera and radar to give you lights that adapt to the low light conditions and it allows you to maintain high beams while not blinding oncoming traffic by selecting a pattern that only dims the relevant LEDs that affect opposing traffic. I think Volvo lights are already really good but this is next level.
      The idea is great and I would love to hear what owners out there think of this feature so if you use this regularly, please do post. Thanks for contributing and happy holidays.
