- Que onda, everybody, welcome back to the channel, and today we are checking out some new controller I found at the local game stop called the Candy Con controllers. The faceplate attaches via magnets, so you don't have to click it in. Also, the controller uses hall-effect thumbsticks and triggers, so you won't get the joycon drift issues that the switch joycons and pro controllers have. You only need the blutooth dongle to connect wirelessly to pc. The controller can connect to the switch by itself

So most controllers, like the joy cons, uses potentiometers and electrical contact points to determine the stick position. This causes them to break down faster, which is why you get controller drift on them. With hall effect thumbsticks, they are contactless, so they last a lot longer and are less likely to get drift issues. The most common reason for these getting drift is if you absolutely trash the controller and get food, liquids, or other debris in them. The candy cons uses K-Silver JH16 modules which came out April 2023 and are considered to be one of the best hall-effect modules on the market.
If your pc has Bluetooth do you still need the USB? Last controller I had was same way and losing that usb sucks
@gregcruz6517 I recently tried connecting it without the USB dongle, and it seems to not be able to connect. You could connect it wired, but if you want wireless for PC, I believe you need that usb

Dayum...Looks like it has premium build quality! GameStop is hitting it out of the park with these new customizable PC/Switch controllers.
Hoping that PS4/5 and Xbox One/Series versions are on the way soon.
I agree it would be cool to see new options for the other consoles!

@user-py7hr8ni8h no you don't, where's your video. You haven't used one or even bought one so you don't know about it, your just blowing hot air. Only shills come to someone else's video to disparage what they are reviewing, instead of making their own video that objectively proves that this is a bad controller. You haven't provided concrete, or circumstantial proof that this controller sucks; this is why YOU'RE the shill, and why I'm not. I actually own a Candy Con, and can attest to how good these are with proof to back it up.

As long as the base kit isnt too pricey this looks like a great deal compared to 60-100 brand controllers for switch and pc(xbox/ps) and has backpaddles. Can already see special promo kits getting designed and sponsored by content creators like gfuel and advanced gg
You can't use it with Xbox or Playstation, no one uses controllers on PC, so its essentially a useless controller.
For now these controller only work for PC/switch. Personally I enjoy some games on controller and it has been good controller to use for the moment.

@@garyspoon5148 In what games? The most popular PC games are Fortnite, Counter-Strike, Minecraft, League of Legends and so on and no one is using controllers in that, thats 95% mouse and keyboard.

Bought mine this Saturday and I am loving it. Went with a purple face plate and blue thumb sticks and d-pads combo. My wife now wants one, she is having fun picking the colors.

Man the features of this controller just keep coming, didn't know it was tri-platform compatible.
I bet it can connect to iOS too, I think most ios mobiles have settings to re-map the controls for an even better experience but android needs an external app to do so without external re-mapping on android, the A and B button are switched (unless a game has the option to remap e.i. Terrarria), other than that I love the controller so far, it's been nice while on the road as I don't have a Nintendo Switch and am not ready to bite the bullet to buy one as I've already built my game library on mobile and pc.
Anyone know if these are compatable with mobile as well?

Of course it is, that's the only real explanation to it, it's only those guys. I wish I had a galaxy brain to make this connection. Seeing as this is the only logical reason for these comments, you should check out how wild the comment section is on Mustang, Hellcat, and Camaro videos on youtube: the only people enjoying or hyping those cars, in the comment section, are Ford/General Motors/Stellantis stock holders, shilling these cars, and trying to boost their stock plays............................
You didn't show it in use...
I bought one recently and have had to return it twice already due to defects. All the reviews I find on these never mention people actually using them. They feel like trash and the one I have I still have to trade in the one I recently swapped out. the sticks don't work right and the first one didn't work right with the included dongle. I would stay away from these.
That sucks i have not have any experience like thay! You're right. I should have shown some gameplay using it. I'll make sure to keep that in mind on my next reviews.

Flukes happen, just like every single product on the planet. Sorry bout your bad luck, mine has been flawless and my old neighbor has been loving his. Oddly enough, not one single video on youtube has yet to be found that objectively highlights all the problems that mysteriously plague these controllers; no person would seriously get 3 bunk controllers in a row, and not post up video proof, considering the ease of access to create/publish it.
Bought it and the quality is chinese knockoff level.
Better to buy a xbox controller, cost less and way better quality.

Cheap rebranded AliExpress garbage, can't even use them with Xbox nor Playstation.
I have not seen a similar product from AliExpress yet, but for the difference of a switch pro controller, this could be a good alternative 👍
I read that the internal components in these are legit. Not cheap bullshit. They supposedly use Hall effect joysticks which are longer lasting and less prone to drift than traditional mechanical joysticks. Definitely going to buy one and find out for myself.

@@Echoes- Their controller isn't for sale. It's hard to say who the manufacturer is, but even if it's them, that doesn't mean it's "cheap garbage" an Xbox one controller is much cheaper feeling.

Its a pro controller, way better then expensive crap from Sony or Microsoft. Gamestop Candy con controllers are best value per buck and on top of it you an make them look like you want it.. Top quality components have been used in it and some parts are top shelf and invented in this year and you already have them in Candy con controllers....You can REPLACE THE BATTERY, so they are not an e-waste and you can get 2 year replacement warranty on them too. In my opinion they are the best controllers for PC/Switch on the market.
