I use a lawnmower to harvest grass for the winter supply to feed the rabbit's and turkey and ducks... After I cut the grass I let it dry then rake it to expose any grass that not dry when everything is dry I use a lawn sweeper to get all the grass and put it in storage for the winter
To piggy back, the heat from the lawnmower causes the grass to begin fermenting. My own logic says that it’s fine if it’s dried but not fresh clippings

Keeping the hay out of the elements, out of rain, snow is vital. As well as making sure there is a low moisture content in the hay. If the hay is not dry enough, it will have too much moisture in it and this encourages all sorts of nonsense to grow. If you are interested in feeding rabbits naturally, here is a book I found valuable: www.amazon.com/s?k=Beyond+the+Pellet+Feeding+rabbits+naturally&i=stripbooks&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=ur2&linkId=57569a1f1990551ae1fc8acd9398c07d&tag=razzledazzl01-20
It depends on the temperature, cloud cover, and humidity. The dry, hot and sun are the fast ways to dry. Thank you for these informative videos. Do rabbits need dried grass if fresh forage is available year round? My Angora bunny is about 5 months old and doesn't seem to like Timothy hay. He just leaves it alone. He does like the fresh grass I cut for him, but to me it doesn't seem like he eats very much. I read that papaya tablets are good for bunny digestion but I think they have a lot of sugar. Would fresh papaya be good for bunny? I certainly don't want that in his coat!
Thank you for your kind words. I have not fed fresh papaya, however, I have tried dried papaya treats. The bunnies do need to have sugar managed. Fresh is better when the rabbit is doing well. A rabbit with digestive concerns, such as wool block, would benefit from dried grass. Each bunny has their own preferences for what they would like. It sounds like your bunny has clearly communicated his preferences to you. :)
Hey there (pun intended). I was working with an Angora breeder who said that she just uses pellets for her Angoras and that she didn't know other breeders used hay for Angoras. Is this true? I am getting some Angoras this weekend for the first time and I want to make sure that I feed them correctly.
It is true, different breeders feed their rabbits differently. I would suggest reading this book: www.amazon.com/s?k=Beyond+the+Pellet+Feeding+rabbits+naturally&i=stripbooks&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=ur2&linkId=57569a1f1990551ae1fc8acd9398c07d&tag=razzledazzl01-20

you;re not supposed to use grass clippings that were cut by a lawn mower to feed rabbits.

Thank you for the video, was very informative😊

Hey Stephanie..
Is there any reason in giving a fresh or dried grass for rabbit?
Yes, physical and mental health of the rabbit.
Rabbits diet needs to be 80-85% hay and grass

CAN you replace hay With grass in Ur rabbits diet my rabbit will never eat the hay I give him but he love grass
They prefer it, but, in fat, hay is dried grass.
In summer I use both. Sometimes hay and sometimes grass. They do drink less water when I use green grass.
@@RabbitryandYarns probally how much water is in the grass (:
Works better if you lay it out on a grill…
Shouldn’t be dry in the sun..
