Nope they are using hacks there for they are hackers. The “cheater” shit is such a down play. I hate when people say cheating. Cheating is not as bad as hacking. You could literally cheat by being in discord with the enemy team. But thats not the cheating problem everyone is complaining about. It’s the ones who download a program to hack into the game files.
Cheater sounds like when you go out of the map on mw2 and get a nuke. You didnt download any hacks or anything but you’re still cheating. Calling someone a hacker sounds like they are doing something illegal that they could actually get in trouble for. Calling someone a cheater is like a slap on the wrist.
Interesting info to add to what you said at 18:10 Valorant actually did this, but with a twist. They hired CS GO CHEAT CODERS to work on their anti-cheat as well. They also have undercover devs in cheat discords to rat your cheat out. I was informed of this by cheaters I knew in both CS and valorant. Think about how crazy that is, the cheat coders are ruining your competition while at the same time helping you win, AND they're probably more effective than your usual anti-cheat employee because, as cheat coders, they know the ins and outs of how cheats work. Call me crazy, but if I were valve, I would offer to purchase the most reputable cheats/coders from either CS and/or Valorant, and have them work on my anti-cheat, i'd offer them insane pay for it. However, one thing to note, I know of cheat developers that make an excess of 100K$ a month so... Yeah.... It'll be hard to match that price :P.
This happened in Roblox. The Roblox team at one point finally invested into a proper anticheat and then also bought out the team behind Roblox's biggest and best cheating tool and hired them to work on the anticheat. I haven't seen or heard of any cheating in Roblox after that.
Here is what I would do, release a sticker capsule/case about the cheatpocalypse buy out the two biggest cheat makers and then hire them but on a pay for performance as in they get paid for every unique cheat they make detected.

Most people have dynamic IPs that change periodically (some on router restart, some monthly, and some weekly depending on ISP), which makes most IP bans ineffective. Other than that IP bans destroy people who play from school dorms or pc cafes because they ban every person on the network. IP bans are probably the worst way to ban someone
The problem with anticheat is that its one or two big companys against thousands of cheat developers. Even with an AI Anticheat there will be AI Cheats that can mimick a legit player very well, in fact they already exist.

Minecraft hypixel anticheat uses invisible "players" behind the potential cheater that a normal user cannot see but a cheater's aimbot would detect the hitbox and hit it with Kill aura. And when the person hit sed "player" multiple times in a second within a certain time you would be flagged as cheater.

I used to be very deep in the cheating community and had a pretty good connection to the devs such as pizza, polar etc (skyblock-heavy) and for about a year now, almost every macro is detected within a few days of release (dungeons, mining etc), things like fly, kill aura, even auto clickers are all bans that take no more than a few minutes.
This is huge cause even if they don’t stop playing, the public statement puts pressure on valve to act now and maybe chill on the yearly vacation for a bit and fix their damn game
Eventually they will fix it, but this is the bad publicity Valve will get for this will remain. It's already bad enough they don't care about old gems like Team Fortress 2, now they don't even care about their recent releases like CS2...
It's true that cheaters turn legit players to cheaters, I've seen it with my friend. We played together after years not playing CSGO, we encountered some players that seem like cheaters (we weren't sure) but he found out how easy it is to cheat and he bought one now he haven't played without cheats since. I don't play much with him anymore but it did turn him into a cheater. I wish Valve would save CS2 with a great anti-cheat.
The only easy way would be to capture the full video and audio output of PC when cs2 is running, than you can easily identify if the screen contains external huds/info that is not there by default running simple AI classifier etc.
The trust factor is the biggest scam from valve. My profile has 100+ games, existing since 2013 and more than 15k played hours. I got matched with a profile that was not set up yet...

4:00 when people are putting thousands of dollars into the game despite hackers being rampant, getting rid of the cheaters isn't exactly going to be high on Valve's priority list. The only way cheaters get dealt with is if the money stops coming in.
Issue is that if you use something like a radar cheat that shows you enemies and nothing else, an anticheat that only watches the game will never catch that person. Their aim will be normal and they won't be looking at enemies through walls (and even if they did pros look at people through walls all the time because of gamesense) . An ai anticheat will only catch aimbotters and that's about it.

I think the issue is that "whoever has the "lowest ping", would probably win. :/ Also, if I am not mistaken, there are 2 different categories of bodybuilding contests, "one with steroids/juicing" and another type called "natural". For CSGO, it'd be a similar concept; so if there was some way to mitigate the "ping advantage" of cheating, I think it could be doable. It's just that the rounds may be super short... (I've seen clips where people were getting spawn killed in the 1st few seconds.)

People in 13k lobbies are coping so hard on cheaters. All it takes is 1 teammate to say they're cheating and your whole team stops playing the game. It's awful.
I got banned two times for cheating, on one account I had Ak red laminate FN with Dreamhack 2014 stickers (skin worth up to 3000$) on other I had a skin with Titan 2014 sticker. Really wish I hadn’t cheated, but I was young and dumb. Current account has 3000 playing hours, and I haven’t cheated ever since.

I hate the fact that there is a trust factor thing and not just a legit anti cheat system. The amount of times i get accused of cheating because I am placed in silver in CS2(I was master guardian elite in csgo, I go up and down around 13k-17k in premier which doesnt make sense). CS2 doesnt help with the fact that you have to rank up in every map. I am convinced that i am placed against hacker more frequent because i have a low trust factor. I play in Asia and if you think you have it bad, we have spinbotters in casual. War games like battlefield Immediately die in asia after a week because of hackers. Ive had a week where i had 80% of my games infested with cheaters(all blatant hackers). I get a decent game and its against poor silvers calling me a hacker. Like i dont know what to feel with this game anymore. Also, i dont want to be a racist but the amount of cheaters who happen to be chinese is like 11/10. @ohnepixel raw To the captcha stuff: It is to detect bots, but what they actually do is different to what you think. they analyze a lot more, they dont really care what you select within reason, they care about mouse movement and they even look at your browsing history. they collect a lot of data to decide if you are a bot or not, which is not ai but more like big data driven analysis and decision making. Regarding AI AntiCheat. Yes, it is possible, the problem is that AI can also be used to emulate user movement. The more human like an AI aimbot becomes, the harder it would be for even an AI to detect it. And in the end AI cheats would win, cause somewhen the AI will be so human like that you cant single them out anymore. Regarding VACnet and their AI AntiCheat. From day 1 i said it wont work. Cause Overwatch IS busted. an Ai only needs data, but it needs clean data! data you can depend on. Training an AI model for detecting cheats will take a lot of effort. You need to consider what data will they be training? Will it be gameplay video footage classification or some type of classification based on system files and how the users system interacts with the game. Each comes with their own benefits and drawbacks. Video footage would not get closet cheaters. System files brings ethics into play as would people want an ai model trained on their system which could potentially be trained with personal data. Then the issue arises of false positives and false negative. As of right now it is completely impossible to create a 100% accurate model. 70% is considered a "good" model and the best of the best that i have seen so far (in terms of models that have been trained using extensive datasets (e.g. 336 million parameters)) can only reach a consistency of 90-95% accuracy. That may sound good. But doesnt ignore the fact of false positives and flase negatives. Then one must consider the overall robustness of the model meaning maybe one cheat gets detected 99% accurately, but another cheat only 50% accurately or maybe even less. So they could say their model is 97% accurate but the results could be skewed and only certain cheats are detected well and others arent detected at all or very shitly. With a model you need the training data, and unseen data to the model for testing and validation. Therefore they would need a comprehensive set of 100% definite cheater and non cheater data to actually test the model and validate weather it is good enough or not which is a whole extra challenge for the valve team.
Expanding on that then you have to consider direct memory access cards where you can edit low level memory in your computer during the real time, where cheats arent even running on your computer but on another which adds an even higher level of complexity.

It's true that cheaters turn legit players to cheaters, I've seen it with my friend. We played together after years not playing CSGO, we encountered some players that seem like cheaters (we weren't sure) but he found out how easy it is to cheat and he bought one now he haven't played without cheats since. I don't play much with him anymore but it did turn him into a cheater. I wish Valve would save CS2 with a great anti-cheat.

The only easy way would be to capture the full video and audio output of PC when cs2 is running, than you can easily identify if the screen contains external huds/info that is not there by default running simple AI classifier etc.
The trust factor is the biggest scam from valve. My profile has 100+ games, existing since 2013 and more than 15k played hours. I got matched with a profile that was not set up yet...

Issue is that if you use something like a radar cheat that shows you enemies and nothing else, an anticheat that only watches the game will never catch that person. Their aim will be normal and they won't be looking at enemies through walls (and even if they did pros look at people through walls all the time because of gamesense) . An ai anticheat will only catch aimbotters and that's about it.
Trilluxe also had the VAC live thing in a wingman match, but I never had it. He also only had it once in hundreds of hours of CS2.

Also, if I am not mistaken, there are 2 different categories of bodybuilding contests, "one with steroids/juicing" and another type called "natural". For CSGO, it'd be a similar concept; so if there was some way to mitigate the "ping advantage" of cheating, I think it could be doable. It's just that the rounds may be super short... (I've seen clips where people were getting spawn killed in the 1st few seconds.)

People in 13k lobbies are coping so hard on cheaters. All it takes is 1 teammate to say they're cheating and your whole team stops playing the game. It's awful.
I got banned two times for cheating, on one account I had Ak red laminate FN with Dreamhack 2014 stickers (skin worth up to 3000$) on other I had a skin with Titan 2014 sticker. Really wish I hadn’t cheated, but I was young and dumb. Current account has 3000 playing hours, and I haven’t cheated ever since.

I hate the fact that there is a trust factor thing and not just a legit anti cheat system. The amount of times i get accused of cheating because I am placed in silver in CS2(I was master guardian elite in csgo, I go up and down around 13k-17k in premier which doesnt make sense). CS2 doesnt help with the fact that you have to rank up in every map. I am convinced that i am placed against hacker more frequent because i have a low trust factor. I play in Asia and if you think you have it bad, we have spinbotters in casual. War games like battlefield Immediately die in asia after a week because of hackers. Ive had a week where i had 80% of my games infested with cheaters(all blatant hackers). I get a decent game and its against poor silvers calling me a hacker. Like i dont know what to feel with this game anymore. Also, i dont want to be a racist but the amount of cheaters who happen to be chinese is like 11/10.
Also, i get banned for 7 days because i was abandoning games which had hackers. I had to abandon those games. Valve expects me to sit in a game where someone just shoots me through a wall. Like what? I check those accounts and they're still active and no bans, i still meet them in games.
Bring back overwatch atleast. Atleast its gonna be like a new game mode for me.

i just want to leave it here , about sv_cheats situation with faceit bans , in my opinion u shouldnt ban people for sv_cheats command , why not? Because it was built in the game , so it is not cheating , it is actually just like changing settings in your game (but using console), it is actualy just more sophisticated way of setting up your game.

any "competitive game" should require you to use your real life credentials and be help accountable for playing unfairly, so instead of making it were just your account or your ip computer it will be tied to your real life reputation, I think china does this already with their state id but it seems kinda out there but for real there is no accountability these people are cheating in games
Maybe some people cheat because they play against other cheaters ,but i think many players are cheating because they are just bad , or dont have the patience to stay and learn a few years how to play the game ,they dont self analyze their game ,and it is much more easy to use cheats ,to pay for good cheats just to play this game .
I had at work some 17 yo kids that were playing with cheats and 2 older ones that admited to play with cheats ,when i ask why they use cheats none of them said because of other players that used cheats !! They wanted just to be good at the game ,to have big kill scores ,to look good in front of other friends that they played with ...an so on !!!

Now the profile ingame shows WingMan rank and an empty slot where Global Elite used to be because I need a rank on all my maps? Yet valve give us 5-10k hour players a rank like Silver 1, there are many problems and we can't just blame the cheaters, Valve thinking Premier is better than old comp is a big problem.
How ranks are calculated? I 30 bombed every single match with positive KD and they give me Silver, for those performances I should have been given DMG/LE/LEM atleast or higher and let me find my rank, people that are in teams and competing semi pro are also given Silver rank, Valve messed up with this too.

To the captcha stuff: It is to detect bots, but what they actually do is different to what you think. they analyze a lot more, they dont really care what you select within reason, they care about mouse movement and they even look at your browsing history. they collect a lot of data to decide if you are a bot or not, which is not ai but more like big data driven analysis and decision making.
Regarding AI AntiCheat. Yes, it is possible, the problem is that AI can also be used to emulate user movement. The more human like an AI aimbot becomes, the harder it would be for even an AI to detect it. And in the end AI cheats would win, cause somewhen the AI will be so human like that you cant single them out anymore.
Regarding VACnet and their AI AntiCheat. From day 1 i said it wont work. Cause Overwatch IS busted. an Ai only needs data, but it needs clean data! data you can depend on. If you have an overwatch system where cheaters are not getting banned, the dataset you train the ai based on is corrupted. corrupted dataset leads to a corrupted ai that wont work. the worst part on AI is, that a single bad dataset is having a way bigger impact than a single good one. And that leads to this issue.
Some people believe that an AI AC is basically watching over your sholder and "inspecting" whats shown on the screen.

Training an AI model for detecting cheats will take a lot of effort. You need to consider what data will they be training? Will it be gameplay video footage classification or some type of classification based on system files and how the users system interacts with the game. Each comes with their own benefits and drawbacks. Video footage would not get closet cheaters. System files brings ethics into play as would people want an ai model trained on their system which could potentially be trained with personal data. Then the issue arises of false positives and false negative. As of right now it is completely impossible to create a 100% accurate model. 70% is considered a "good" model and the best of the best that i have seen so far (in terms of models that have been trained using extensive datasets (e.g. 336 million parameters)) can only reach a consistency of 90-95% accuracy. That may sound good. But doesnt ignore the fact of false positives and flase negatives. Then one must consider the overall robustness of the model meaning maybe one cheat gets detected 99% accurately, but another cheat only 50% accurately or maybe even less. So they could say their model is 97% accurate but the results could be skewed and only certain cheats are detected well and others arent detected at all or very shitly. With a model you need the training data, and unseen data to the model for testing and validation. Therefore they would need a comprehensive set of 100% definite cheater and non cheater data to actually test the model and validate weather it is good enough or not which is a whole extra challenge for the valve team.
Expanding on that then you have to consider direct memory access cards where you can edit low level memory in your computer during the real time, where cheats arent even running on your computer but on another which adds an even higher level of complexity.
