In the late 1960's and 11970's, I learned to dance with the intricate turns from the older men of the 1930's, 40's, 50's, at family gatherings. In 1970 at 18, I went to College and had fun running into these familiar Dances. My Mom also taught me how to do the Bop.😄 Thank you for bringing back fond memories.
Thank you for watching and sharing your fond memories. I learned Detroit-style ballroom dancing ( sad to say) in my early fifties. Still, it has been one of the greatest joys of my life!
Awesome! You two dance great together! Detroit style Ball room and Chicago style Steppin. These are nice dances! So eloquent, classy! Good for exercising, and staying healthy also! Love it! 😊
Wow❤ I need a partner, I want to do this. Sis you look so beautiful with your King, he is so smooth; I am so happy for the both of you to have each other. 4 real💯❤️👑
I just want to add something to the dance scene in Detroit, you have to go back in the day like the early 60's which was called the GREYSTONE Style which was two people slow dancing, that dance style is still done today in some of the clubs in Detroit Michigan !!!
Excellent instructions, may I ask if you also teach basic Chicago style walking, I’ve never learnt stepping or walking but I intend to. If you do have videos please point me to them, I would like to start with walking. Looking at you from Canada🇨🇦 great job!
Hey there fellow Canajian!!! 😊🇨🇦👍🏾 Former "club kid" ('74-), DJ ('77-'89), and Ballroom and Latin Instructor from Toronto, Ontario, Canada here... 😁 ...who's looking forward to starting a series of family oriented (fundraising) dance classes in 2025. The main focus will be on New York Hustle, Chicago Steppin', and West Coast Swing (although there'll be workshops on Kizomba, Salsa etc. etc.) Are you in Ontario, BC, or Montreal, and also, does something like what I'm suggesting interest you???
3:50 I thought I seen my mom purple 💜 was her favorite color maybe she's dancing in heaven but with her daddy ... Im serious... Wow, we are natural by the head and down to earth till we like my mommy ... I hope she was alive to see it and my sister hair product for natural hair. She tried finding good hair products for her hair 😊. Its like she died when the natural hair thing started. RIP Mom 1965-2016 oh her last name was Carter
So sorry for your loss. Glad this video conjured up fond memories of your mother and grandfather. Thanks for commenting and subscribing to our channel. Please check out other Chocolate Box videos, because..."You Never Know What You're Gonna Get" when you tune-in.
Which song? There are several songs they dance to throughout the program. Perhaps include a reference time in your follow-up question. Thanks for 1) watching, 2) asking a question and 3) most important of all…SUBSCRIBING! Please share!
Destins et desires (featuring Jeanne Added) Toufic Farroukh First time I heard it, I was like: "WHO IS THAT?!" Smooth, nice, exotic and everything in between!😱
this is not ballroom dancing , you have to like ball traveling and navigating along the dance line of the floor practically this is what ballroom is referring too. If just one spot of the floor is use and not the entire dance floor is utilize its just a dance and not no form of ballrooming.
Very classy! Elegant! Gentlemen and lady!
K'Jean from Finney High School in the Motor City jamming!!! Nice record.
