Which looking back on it is a pretty close minded mentality, that’s why I’m appreciative of X, but I did recently go back and listened to him and ngl some songs didn’t hold up, but I’m still grateful that X was a young artist I seen doing something different and helped bring me out of a close minded era in my life.
Lil yachty is hit or miss but his recent stuff has been really good i think he really tried to find his sound and i think Detroit yachty is the best version

I agree that Detroit music is probably the most polarizing in hip hop. People either love it or hate it completely. But if you like witty lyricist, banging beats, and dont take things too seriously. Something I learned about Yachty songs early on (before this latest album) is his best songs are all w/ features. Not even that he gets carried on all of them (like 66 for ex.) it’s just he does better when he works off the other artist (like Yacht club)
