Yep, if you're just getting into the J-metal scene, there are tons of excellent and supremely talented bands that aren't afraid to try things and they LOVE to combine genres and styles to make something new and unique. The ladies from Nemophila are very diverse. "Adabana" is another killer track and their newest release, "Ama-Te-Ras" showcases their blending of styles. Next band: Hanabie. and their own "Harajukucore" style. "We Love Sweets" "Tousou" "L.C.G" are good starters.
Nemophila is doin’ same to Metal than Band-Maid is doin’ to Rock..they are Saving it!!! Magical band. It’s like they were born to play together. They play whatever they wanna play and killed it 🔥🤘❤️ Lovin’ Nemophila 💪🤘🔥❤️🇫🇮
Nemophila aka the "Mayu session band". Got together for one concert, by the famous "do you by chance know a great musician" method. Not unlike Band-maid...And Lovebites who you will run into soon. As you see: 5 years after they're still together. My feeling is that the female rock/metal scene mingle a lot. So we see them attend each others concerts. Having dinners... You name it.
actually both Band-Maid and Nemophila have both had sold out tours here in the USA. Band-Maid more than Nemophila because they have been collectively around longer. BUT, Nemophila is rising in popularity here in the States. Their first show in the USA was at the Wiskey A Gogo and it was sold out standing room only!!
Two of my favorites! Band-Maid and Nemophila! Rock vs metal. Both great in different ways. Check out live performances. New ones just released. !! #nemophila #bandmaid. I saw both live in the USA multiple times. Greatest ever
Band-Maid are not my "cup of tea" at all, but I saw a few live songs from them, and I definitely acknowledge their skills. And their audiences are just _awesome_ . Band-Maid _commands_ them, like an "additional instrument". Just _phenomenal_ . As Metalhead, I personally prefer Lovebites and Nemophila.
I'm glad you guys found Nemophila, they are one of my favorite bands besides Band Maid. Nemophila tends to lean more towards metal, where Band Maid is a little more towards hard rock with some metal elements at times. Nemophila is more or less a supergroup of elite musicians that really like each other. If you want another official video, I'd suggest "Adabana" although all of them are good. They do tend to play in various genres, but for their live stuff, I'd suggest "Change the World" or "Zen" as a good starting point. They are like Band Maid in that they are both even better live than in the studio.
The members of nemophila are musicians from different bands. They are all excellent musicians. And nemophila is a very unique and diverse band, with various genres of music appearing in their catalog. I recommend《oiran》live(recent one) or《adabana》as the next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
Nemophila is an accidental super group and generally heavier than Lovebites (you have not done them yet, most people do Lovebites first, Lovebites is heavier than Band-Maid), but can go softer than Band-Maid. This song is about average for Nemophila, it is good that you picked one of the average songs as reactors have picked soft/heavy and gotten the wrong idea (much to their shock and our amusement). Heavier would be "Adabana" or "Zen" (live), softer would be "Life" (live) or "Odyssey". They feel like a very mature band despite starting in 2019 (this says tons about the skill level and experience of the members). Cover songs have always been something this band does, but they released a lot of them during the lockdown, mostly it s bands that influenced them or bands they want to acknowledge, which gives you some insight into them. I mentioned Lovebites, they are sort of a Thrash/Power Metal band, very skilled musicians, founded in 2016. Lovebites can trace parts of its origin to Destrose (as can Nemophila and about a dozen other bands and a handful of solo acts). Probably a good place to start is "The Hammer of Wrath" (live from Knocking At Heavens Gate) but "Holy War" (live Zep Diver City) is also good. The Japanese female bands tend to stick together, so Nemophila has been seen at Lovebites shows and have hung out in their downtime, Lovebites has gone to Band-Maid shows (and it sounds like Band-Maid is planning on going to a Lovebites show later this year). Hanabie and Nemophila did a show together and Nemophila did a cover of one of the Hanabie songs. Their also tends to be an overlap in the fan base.
nemophila is metal with many influences and band maid is hard rock/rock with many influences love both and they scratch diff itches for me ^^ both staples on my playlists now ^^

Lots of information claimed Kurt Cobain really did said that women were the future of rock music... I can't confirm on that other than that reference but what I can confirm is that Kurt was addicted to an album titled Burning Farm released in 1983 by Japanese all-female punk rock band Shonen Knife (formed in 1981, Osaka). He even cried listening to the album claiming that he couldn’t believe that three people from a totally different culture could write songs as good as those. He weren't able to watch Shonen Knife live show until 1991 when Nirvana 'invited' Shonen Knife to join them as support band for their NEVERMIND's European tour. According to Naoko (Shone Knife guitarist), those time Kurt asked her for the chords on one of their song from Burning Farm album and eventually performed that song during one of Nirvana's 'secret gig'. Japanese rock metal scene had been there since like forever but only during the last couple of decades, it gain so much attention from 'the other part of the world'. FYI, Shonen Knife is still active until now and just released an album title Our Best Place in February last year. So you might be interested to check out their stuffs as well... oh and lots more of NEMOPHILA - they are phenomenal hard working musicians and joyful to watch!
Fear not: It is _nowhere_ going down from here anymore, in terms of their skills. Nemophila released 3 studio albums up to know (Revive, Seize the fate, Evolve), with _not one_ weak song, but _full of masterpieces_ . Un-be-liev-able. As you suppose, Nemophila belong to those Japanese Metal bands who are influenced by _legends_ of music, and now give back to the world. These ladies got their Metal degrees, and now take over this genre. With charming smiles, and without breaking a sweat. In kind competition with their friends from "Lovebites". Like Lovebites, Nemophila put many, many well-reknowned Metal bands in their places. Lovebites maybe more "arty", Nemophila more "punky". But both bands are very versatile in terms of genres and mixing them.
The Japanese metal/rock scene is next level, Band-Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie & Lovebites are my top 4. I've seen Nemophila live twice and they are incredible. Now if you want to see who likely is the best metal band today. You need to check out Lovebites (Speed, power, thrash, ballads like the good old days in the 70's &80's). They are all elite musicians.
I saw these gals on their first show of their first U.S. tour. They straight up blew the roof off of the venue. I bought all of their merch, even the hoodie! I've got tickets to see Hanabie in May. Japanese girls are raised on a diet of depleted uranium, apparently.
Japan still has a very rich guitar culture. Even their pop songs still have guitar, and they don't just use minor and major scales either.. It really shows why so many bands come out of this country right now. Australia/Uk/US/Nz ect haven't had actual music in their charts for a very long time.. It's all hiphop/electronic/rap.
No hay punto de comparación entre Band Maid y Nemophila! El primero toca pop, rock y el otro esta en otro nivel ,tocando metal! Nemophila es mi favorita de Japón! Es mi opinión! Saludos, me gustó 👍
Nemophila one of the best bands out of Japan. You are going to enjoy this band. Formed in 2019 and third album came out last month. Awesome kick ass band great musicians.Mayu is the lead singer has very cool vocals. Really like all their songs. Try Oiran Live the most current one. One of the first songs they ever recorded and is played a lot as their concert closer.
Welcome to the Nemo world Nemo fellas, Nemophila are: Mayu: singer Haraguchi-san: Bass Hazuki: Lead guitar (Ibanez 7 strings) Saki: Lead guitar (Killer 7 the empress guitar) Murata Tamu: Drums (she also play saxophone, bass and guitar) My recommendations: ZEN Live, Revive, Adabana, Oiran, and from recently last album Ama-te-ras, Alive Regards from Chile
BAND-MAID and Nemophila are not comparable. Both are top notch. But, they do different stuff. And I love both. One thing though - Nemophila are 200% pros. Their musicianship is totally amazing. They can do whatever they like. E.g. the Drummer Tamu is one of the best drummers in Japan, and they have two guitar shredders. But, BAND-MAID has MISA, Akane and Kanami, three very proficient musicians. Totally top notch. BTW - listen to more by Nemophila (and BAND-MAID) and you will see the width of their skills and song writing. One thing though - BAND-MAID write all their songs, but Nemophila only partly write their songs. They also have external help. BAND-MAID song writing is amazing. BAND-MAID also is more fun. And more rock! When Kanami go Mincho mode she is unstoppable. Nemophila is a group of pro musicians that have formed a super group, and as I said, they can play anything. And they show that in all the covers they do. This is a group you could hire to play what you need. If they sold that option. Why not an Iron Maiden show?
BTW - do not forget Lovebites. If it is high level heavy metal you want to see with unearthly skills, you get it. And do not forget Hanabie. A young and fun group that plays metal core. You want a cute Japanese girl that growls? You get it!
@retroislandboy9708 I'm a fan of Nemo myself and love the diversity of their music, but female J-rock bands like Band-Maid and Lovebites also have their own level. Otherwise, we would not have been able to gain so many overseas fans
Band-Maid don't work nearly as well for me as Nemophila...but then again, no band really does: Nemo are my favorite band anywhere. Incredibly versatile, technically superb, and charismatic beyond belief live...
Nemophila were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of: ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X) ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Murata Tamu This is one of the bands to watch, no question. They just started in 2019 and are blowing up fast. As you can see from the gang vocals, they don't take themselves too seriously-Hazuki even winks. They almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.” Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized by Mayu with some help from Saki, largely to keep busy in the early days of the pandemic. They started by posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Then they began posting originals, starting with “Oiran” ruclips.net/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/видео.html The viral reaction seems to have convinced them they were onto something potentially big, so they’ve been putting a lot more work into it, including some successful live-streams and an appearance at the annual Japanese female rock festival NAONのYAON. They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers. Drummer Murata Tamu took time off to give birth to her son, and on her return, the rest of the bandmembers gave her a welcome back that resulted in an extremely moving moment captured on live stream: “Life” ruclips.net/video/HFnEYhbEAqg/видео.html After Oiran, others to check include "Dissension", which will fry whatever is left of your circuits: ruclips.net/video/26aMuahxz8c/видео.html and “Raitei”, which means “Thunder” in Japanese, and yes, they bring the thunder: ruclips.net/video/lh-dVLKP314/видео.html More recent drops that showcase their intensity and versatility: “Adabana” ruclips.net/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/видео.html “Style” ruclips.net/video/Aph5GON6rPc/видео.html (written by their bassist, Haraguchi-san) “Seize the Fate” ruclips.net/video/4tpgLyckVYg/видео.html “Rise” you just watched this. Saki is the only one who had been with a breakout band before (Mary’s Blood); Hazuki and Murata-tamu are also considered elite musicians and have worked with a lot of other top artists. Hara-san is the youngest but is clearly a great talent and has been developing in front of our eyes. She has already written several songs for the group. And of course Mayu is quickly establishing herself as a great metal vocalist. They have toured the U.S. twice. I saw them live and they blew the roof off the place. 2 more bands to complete the "big 4" in female japanese rock/metal. Hanabie and Lovebites. We love sweets by hanabie and basically any song in lovebites category but the concert live song is the best
Nee - Mo - Fee - La, small blue flower 5 petals. Mayu, vocals, founded the band to help her meet some commitments. They enjoyed playing together and enjoyed being together, Sooo Nemophila. Did you notice that Saki and Hazuki are playing 7 string guitars? 2022 Whisky a Go Go solo gig 2023 Aftershock festival - 1 shot, they had to return to Japan beause was Mayu pregnant. 2023 National tour, very successful. They have done a number of Live Stream mini-concerts on YT. Next - Nemophila "Seize the Fate" official live video, you'll love Haraguchi's solo.
The guys here said it correctly. Neh-mo-Phila. Thats how the ladies say it as well. Check out their video called "NEMOPHILA it cracks you up!" and you will hear them say their name at the start. Japanese dont tend to say "e" as eeeee. Its more "eh" as in fellow Japanese band Hanabi-eh.
i lol it's 7%. 70/10 = 7. I'm not a fan of screaming, but when you're that good, and Mayu's clean voice is that beautiful, I can't ignore how awesome this song is. They are extremely talented and have some other fun tracks as well. Raitei, Night Flight, Change the World, and Now I Here (a ballad) are their best songs next to this one IMHO.
The ladies of Nemophila were accomplished musicians before getting together. The drummer Tamu Murata is one of the most sought out session drummers in Tokyo and has played on projects that range from prog, jazz, metal, pop and fusion. She was also a drum instructor, hosted a drum based program, and toured Asia giving drum clinics. Tamu also plays classic piano, guitar, bass and sax. When it comes to metal drummers, she cites Charlie Benante, Dave Lombardi and Mike Portnoy as influences. The other ladies are just as accomplished in their own right. Nemophila is a journey definitely worth continuing. Imo, one of the best bands out of Japan, regardless of gender.
There are so many talented bands in Japan it is really hard to compare them. I will say Nemophila is in my top two and often my top band depending on my mood. Keep reacting to this diverse and hard charging group and they might become one of yours too.
Grunge never took hold of Japan like it did in North America and some parts of Europe. And Japan has more all-female bands by number and per capita than any nation across multiple genres especially in Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. There are hundreds of bands.
More Nemophila reactions please! They have become one of my favorite bands. I personaly like them more than Bandmaid. Check out Dissension, Revive, Zen (official Live), Hypnosis, ..actually pretty much any music they have released is awesome IMO
Thank you so much for reacting to Japanese band. I would like you to react LoveBites next. They are also all-female Japanese power metal band. These are 3 songs that I would like to recommend. Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020] ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.htmlsi=NI9zB58CwayV5vnr Judgement Day [MUSIC VIDEO] ruclips.net/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/видео.htmlsi=NGn8NNYv9M8DO6ja Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down) [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO] ruclips.net/video/4ImGA7cPyrs/видео.htmlsi=0AGyV8VHa_sNALPg
Haraguchi-san Haraguchi-san Haraguchi-san! Tho Band-Maid is my all time favourite band and my goto for Hard Rock Nemophila are my goto for Screamo Metal Lovebites are my goto for old school Thrash and Power Metal and Glim Spanky is my goto for Psychedelic Rock ABSOLUTELY no need to compare them. just enjoy what you like
LOVEBITES band should be next to react to. 2 songs, years apart, to start with: 1 - LOVEBITES / Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020] ... with their original bassist, Miho. 2 - LOVEBITES / Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down) [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO] .. with Fami, their current one.
@@ChadTheDragonLord Yes. LOVEBITES / The Hammer Of Wrath [Official Live Video taken from "Knockin' At Heaven's Gate"] ...which is Fami's absolute, kick-ass acceptance / welcoming in the Wolfpack!
I would recommend you listen to a live video of a fairly new release called "Ama-te-ras". It features some interesting bass work, it's fun and energetic but a little more upbeat sounding closer to the vibes of Band-Maid if that's what you preferred (I'll see if I can convert you!) but still retains some of Nemophila's heavier sound. Also it would be good for you to see them live. Here's a range of other quite different recommendations too: - "Monsters" also has that upbeat sound but this time with no harsh vocals if that's your preference. It also features something common in Nemophila songs - a call and response/duelling guitar solo followed by a guitar solo duet playing in unison. Band-Maid has one lead and one rhythm whereas Nemophila has two leads. - "Zen" is one if you really do enjoy the harsh vocals as this is their only song with only screaming in it. - "Oiran" is a bit heavier again similar to "Rise" and is a very popular one. I also think the live performance is visually one of their best, there are a couple of versions, the most recent one is the best I think. Also with duelling/duet solos. - "Life" would allow you to see the complete other side to Nemophila, a very emotional power ballad. - "Night Flight" live or MV are both fun. This song is a bit of fun, inspired by like 80s disco vibes. Plus check out their playlist of covers, they have a lot of them and they put a lot of effort into them, sometimes copying the music videos or appearances, styles and musical techniques of the original artists. And they cover things you might not expect them to. I hope you come back to Nemophila, have fun!
Nemophila doesn't have a Rhythm Guitarist. :) Both are Lead Guitarists. Hmm... Yes, Hazuki-san is endorsed by Ibanez while Saki-san is endorsed by by Killer Guitars, an outfit co-founded by the lead guitarist of LOUDNESS, Akira Takasaki. The bassist, Haraguchi-san uses Sadowsky.
Nemophila are very talented musicians. I am not generally a fan of screaming vocals so it has to be really good to get me. Another group of really talented musicians are Unlucky Morpheaus, Fuki's vocals are top notch, and Jill's playing really sets this band apart from others.
Great reaction! So the natural progression after band-maid and nemophila is babymetal right?? 😁 Check out headbanger 1997 and road of resistance live in Japan!
Yes Nemophila are great. Nice reaction. So given this particular Japanese women rock / metal (mostly) rabbit hole, be prepared! 2 down, at least for first contact. Good f***ing luck! Japan is absolutely dominating the hard rock and metal scene right now and doing so with talented woman fronted or all women bands. Nemophila is obviously metal. Band Maid is hard rock i'd say. They are a less heavy. I still love them. I got to see BabyMetal, Hanabie, and Nemophila last year. All 3 were amazing. I missed Band Maid though. I need to see them when they come back to the states. "Thank you, BabyMetal." Check out Baby Metal Hanabie Trident Bridear Fate Gear Audios PassCode Doll$Box Lovebites Unlucky Morpheous Mary's Blood
another japanese metal band to check out is Unlucky Morpheus and a song called Cadaver/Revadac the song Cadaver is then reversed for the song Revadac, check the version with the sheet music 🤘
The more Nemo you watch the more you will appreciate their ability to pick any genre of rock or metal and make their own. For me Nemo took Band-Maid off the top spot… but you need to check out Lovebites - the top metal band in the World today and easily my #1 now. Try “Hammer Of Wrath (live)” from 2023 🤘🎸🐺
Aside from the bands Mary's Blood (which has not existed since 2022) and Doll$Boxx, which is on hiatus since 2018 (due to being a side project of two other bands), Nemophila and Band-Maid are my favorite female bands nowadays... But saying that both bands do not have the same level could only come from a newcomer to j-rock, who ignores the background of the Nemophila girls.😕. Excused.😉
Please react to LOVEBITES - another all female heavy metal band from Japan just as skilled as nemophila - however, unlike Nemophila they sing all in English and use all clean vocals. Check out Judgement Day ruclips.net/video/yYEUGlFNBKc/видео.html
These girls are great. They are well known for their covers that are very popular. The singer has a baby and the drummer has two very young children. They cover a variety of styles like Change the world that is a toe tapper to Zen that has the most screaming of all their songs. Their third album has only recently been released and it has a great ballad on it. They also do Make you happy and the banana song. A very entertaining and fun band. Ama-Te-Ra has some great bass work.
yall should check out ASTERISM . 3 piece japanese prog rock geniuses. bass player plays a 7 string. oldest in the band is like 22. check out Gunfire or Church
I have noticed that in mixed gender bands the primary roll for women is the bass, I don't know why its a thing but if a band has a single woman she's either the bassist, lead singer lead singer or both; for metal anyhow GrindCore & JazzCore don't seem to obey this unwritten law. So hopeful that doing a Rodger will work: Sokoninaru (Math rock): ruclips.net/video/n7MyoBki9wk/видео.html & Gacharic Spin (everything else): ruclips.net/video/QmL0V667QzI/видео.html
they have gotten better then this if you want a newer song try Nemophila Ama-Te-Ras official live video if you like covers they do alot of covers like Linkin Park Given Up, AC DC Whole Lotta Rose, Iron Maiden Aces High and The Trooper, Skid Row Youth Gone Wild, Panterra Walk please let me know what you think
NEMOPHILA is unbeatable and something else. I love their street attitude. They don't need kawaii uniforms or Japanese pop culture to be attractive. Anyway thanks for your nice reactions!!
That’s not really fair, since they play completely different genres. I doubt Kanami could play like Hazuki or Saki, but I also doubt Hazuki or Saki could play like Kanami. Tamu and Akane are probably the only ones who could duplicate each others styles, and let’s be real, neither of them could do what Senri Kawaguchi does. Mayu has incredible screams and growls, and her clean vocals are great, but she doesn’t have the clarity of tone that Saiki and Miku have. And that’s okay, because her voice is fucking awesome in its own way. Awesome natural grit that comes through even in her clean tones. There’s no need to put one band down to elevate the other. They are both awesome at what they do
Thars funny, because thats exactly what you did...Both Hazuki and Saki can do anything Kanami can do. But better.. Each band member is better.. and Mayu is a better vocalist@ProsperoFinch
Hahaha! Dude says Nemophila is not up to Band Maid level 😂, HAHAHA! Holy F**k, Dude is clueless. Like comparing grade 6(Band Maid) to College (Nemophila)😂😂😂
I actually started digging into the Asian Metal scene after seeing Baby Metal . To your note-The ENTIRE WORLD is dominating the music scene thanks to crap that is forced down the throats of us in the USA. But THANK GOD for the internet, we are not going to be forced to listen to shitheads that CANNOT WRITE their own music or actually PLAY their own instruments !!!! Much less trying to play live. And NO MORE AUTO-TUNE FAKE ASS Rap shit that is not or never has been music. I am a lifelong fan of Rush and Dream Theater , and have NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED by either of them in concert or any of their abilities as musicians.
Nemophila is one of the best band's in the world 🤘🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
Yep, if you're just getting into the J-metal scene, there are tons of excellent and supremely talented bands that aren't afraid to try things and they LOVE to combine genres and styles to make something new and unique.
Love Hanabie! They really have their own style. Genre bending and chaotic at times.
That was great reaction!!But we still need nemophila
More nemophila please!!
Thanks for checking out Nemophila they are awesome. Try their song Adabana or Revive next!
hey Dragon, thanks for turning so many people onto this band. You're everywhere and this band definitely deserves to be known.
😜@@Beastify19
Nemophila aka the "Mayu session band". Got together for one concert, by the famous "do you by chance know a great musician" method. Not unlike Band-maid...And Lovebites who you will run into soon. As you see: 5 years after they're still together.
My feeling is that the female rock/metal scene mingle a lot. So we see them attend each others concerts. Having dinners... You name it.

A must band to react "LOVEBITES"
I second this motion. Best metal band in 20 years

Well said.🤘🏳⚧(⚵⚶⚴𓌂𓐍𓏏𓁐⚳⚢⚸)🏳🌈🦘
LoveBites, " The Hammer of Wrath, " live from Knocking At Heavens Gate.
😏♥️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘
Welcome to the Nemo world Nemo fellas, Nemophila are:
Mayu: singer
Haraguchi-san: Bass
Hazuki: Lead guitar (Ibanez 7 strings)
Saki: Lead guitar (Killer 7 the empress guitar)
Murata Tamu: Drums (she also play saxophone, bass and guitar)
My recommendations: ZEN Live, Revive, Adabana, Oiran, and from recently last album Ama-te-ras, Alive
Regards from Chile
You get it!
AWESOME reaction please react to more Nemophila, Revive , Dissension
Nemophila is on their own level. BandMaid is good but you will see the difference when you see more Nemophila ! they are the goddesses of rock !
No need to compare Band Maid is a hell of a rock band, Nemophila is a hell of a metal and rock band.
2nd to LOVEBITES
@@pinoypower69 I love them too no need to pit them against each other
See my text above. Both are fantastic. Nemophila are more pro and versatile, BAND-MAID are more fun and more rock.
@retroislandboy9708
I'm a fan of Nemo myself and love the diversity of their music, but female J-rock bands like Band-Maid and Lovebites also have their own level. Otherwise, we would not have been able to gain so many overseas fans
Holy trinity of Japanese Rock/Metal: Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila!
Band-Maid don't work nearly as well for me as Nemophila...but then again, no band really does: Nemo are my favorite band anywhere. Incredibly versatile, technically superb, and charismatic beyond belief live...
And Nemophila has the prettiest and heaviest librarian on the planet!
Nemophila were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of:
ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki
ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu
ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X)
ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and
ex-Soramimi drummer Murata Tamu
This is one of the bands to watch, no question. They just started in 2019 and are blowing up fast. As you can see from the gang vocals, they don't take themselves too seriously-Hazuki even winks. They almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.”
Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized by Mayu with some help from Saki, largely to keep busy in the early days of the pandemic. They started by posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Then they began posting originals, starting with “Oiran” ruclips.net/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/видео.html
The viral reaction seems to have convinced them they were onto something potentially big, so they’ve been putting a lot more work into it, including some successful live-streams and an appearance at the annual Japanese female rock festival NAONのYAON. They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers. Drummer Murata Tamu took time off to give birth to her son, and on her return, the rest of the bandmembers gave her a welcome back that resulted in an extremely moving moment captured on live stream: “Life” ruclips.net/video/HFnEYhbEAqg/видео.html
After Oiran, others to check include "Dissension", which will fry whatever is left of your circuits: ruclips.net/video/26aMuahxz8c/видео.html and “Raitei”, which means “Thunder” in Japanese, and yes, they bring the thunder: ruclips.net/video/lh-dVLKP314/видео.html
More recent drops that showcase their intensity and versatility:
“Adabana” ruclips.net/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/видео.html
“Style” ruclips.net/video/Aph5GON6rPc/видео.html
(written by their bassist, Haraguchi-san)
“Seize the Fate” ruclips.net/video/4tpgLyckVYg/видео.html
“Rise” you just watched this.

2022 Whisky a Go Go solo gig
2023 Aftershock festival - 1 shot, they had to return to Japan beause was Mayu pregnant.
@@yakidin63Ref Saki Herman Li Web Show.
i lol it's 7%.
Nemohila is a heavy metal band nothing like bandmaid
Nemophila is best out of Japan 💯
Nemophila is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Greetings from Argentina
Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020] ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.htmlsi=NI9zB58CwayV5vnr

Haraguchi-san Haraguchi-san Haraguchi-san! Tho Band-Maid is my all time favourite band and my goto for Hard Rock Nemophila are my goto for Screamo Metal Lovebites are my goto for old school Thrash and Power Metal and Glim Spanky is my goto for Psychedelic Rock ABSOLUTELY no need to compare them. just enjoy what you like
There’s over 700 metal and rock bands currently in Japan . It’ll take forever to dig into them all
LOVEBITES band should be next to react to.
2 songs, years apart, to start with:
1 - LOVEBITES / Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020] ... with their original bassist, Miho.
2 - LOVEBITES / Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down) [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO] .. with Fami, their current one.
+1 for LOVEBITES Judgement Day
@@ChadTheDragonLord Yes.
LOVEBITES / The Hammer Of Wrath [Official Live Video taken from "Knockin' At Heaven's Gate"]
...which is Fami's absolute, kick-ass acceptance / welcoming in the Wolfpack!
Here's a range of other quite different recommendations too:
- "Monsters" also has that upbeat sound but this time with no harsh vocals if that's your preference.
Nemophila Lovebites
band-maid East of Eden
They have to perform at the big festival in their world they have to be invited to perform
My favorite song they do is Zen. Check it out, it’s live.
Great reaction! So the natural progression after band-maid and nemophila is babymetal right?? 😁
Check out headbanger 1997 and road of resistance live in Japan!

Nemophila is amazing
another japanese metal band to check out is Unlucky Morpheus and a song called Cadaver/Revadac the song Cadaver is then reversed for the song Revadac, check the version with the sheet music 🤘
Nemophila is Heavy Metal where Band Maid is more.. Hard Rock. Again, need Live, "Seize the Fate" or "Revive"...
The more Nemo you watch the more you will appreciate their ability to pick any genre of rock or metal and make their own. For me Nemo took Band-Maid off the top spot… but you need to check out Lovebites - the top metal band in the World today and easily my #1 now. Try “Hammer Of Wrath (live)” from 2023 🤘🎸🐺
Good song
Two of my fave working moms in rock on drums and vocals.
Excused.😉
Kurt Cobain was a big fan of Japanese female band Shonen Knife... he knew where Rock was headed? Maybe.
Nemofila , without a doubt more versatile and imho better than Band Maid
Ama-Te-Ra has some great bass work.
u should check out "NEMOPHILA / AMA-TE-RAS [Official Live Video]", a little different but awesome song
🤘🇺🇦❤️🌸
Nice dudes. Try any song live at the Whisky to be blown away. Is suggest Raitei, Oiran, Sorai, Dessenrion or Zen just to name a few🍺
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
yall should check out ASTERISM . 3 piece japanese prog rock geniuses. bass player plays a 7 string. oldest in the band is like 22. check out Gunfire or Church
I have noticed that in mixed gender bands the primary roll for women is the bass, I don't know why its a thing but if a band has a single woman she's either the bassist, lead singer lead singer or both; for metal anyhow GrindCore & JazzCore don't seem to obey this unwritten law.

they have gotten better then this if you want a newer song try Nemophila Ama-Te-Ras official live video if you like covers they do alot of covers like Linkin Park Given Up, AC DC Whole Lotta Rose, Iron Maiden Aces High and The Trooper, Skid Row Youth Gone Wild, Panterra Walk please let me know what you think
Hanabie next!
Ill be honest... as much as I like this song... this is only a middle-of-the-road song for them. They have about 20 songs better than this one imo.
NEMOPHILA is unbeatable and something else. I love their street attitude. They don't need kawaii uniforms or Japanese pop culture to be attractive. Anyway thanks for your nice reactions!!
Shouldn't compare the two genres, but band maid couldn't compete with Nemophila on skill levels, in any of the categories
Agree and I am not a Nemophila fan.@@L.A55
