    This info is just not accurate, that it is a mixed breed that was created by the Rajputs in 12 th Century, what is the authority behind saying that Akal tekhe horses were imported, by whom really? Please donot harp on western narratives which want to prove everything Indian of Central Asian origin, Marwaris have nothing in common with Arabs, and hybrid animals donot display any unique characteristics the way Marwaris and Kathiawaris do, this documentary is just a quagmire of misinformation which the West loves so much about India, and what is this uniqueness about Safaris, why horses like Maharana’s Chetak and horses like Subhrakh who killed Aibak to bring his master back to safety is not mentioned? Horses are even mentioned in the Bimbethka cave painting which are at lest 15 thousand years probably even before they were domesticated anywhere else. And if you look at the Indian civilisation itself, mention of horses are everywhere almost to the extent that they are even considered to be incarnation of lord Vishnu. So please stop spreading lies, finally Marwaris have always been a taller breed and whenever need was felt for shorter breeds for easy mounting and dismounting Kathiawaris were used. These so called horses experts have done very little research it seems 😂😂😂

      Watch the full documentary, at 16:40 Col Rathore explains the history of Marwari horses while mentioning the famous horses of the past, these narratives have been presented to make people know the current situation of the Marwari horse in India.
      West loves their horses and try to prove its superiority everywhere, the British sidelined this indigenous breed to make way for their horse breeds, so out of everything else this documentary is for sure not to please the west 😉😉
      You have made great points, we would be soon releasing a Hindi explanation video of the documentary and would surely inculcate your points.
      Cheers!!

      The New Guards Sir, we need thorough research on these breeds, and whatever knowledge I have of horses I’m more than convinced that even Arabs have been influenced by Indian breeds, let alone the Akal Tekhe, and I’ve not found any pure Afghan horse breed to be very frank, maybe some mixed ponies of Mongolian and Turkmen decent, nothing of the kind that can influence the Marwaris. West promoting their breed to me seems like the ill fated western yoga which is everything but western, I cannot remember any pure western breed, even the Iberian horses derive themselves from the barb horses of the Moorish conquest of Spain, and then of course we have the Brits who have almost created Horses in labs just through hybridisation. And then of course the famous Walers, why are they even famous, they are just hybrid feral animals, which were a nuisance to the farming community, and we comparing or associating our breeds to any of these and even providing a patient ear to the western narrative is almost like we are unsure of our origin. And lastly sir like our cattle breeds and mastiff breeds that left the shores with the Greek armies, it was a custom back in ancient times to give away horses and elephants by Indian kings, so the westward movement of Indian breeds is very much a reality.

      @@MajidKhan-bd1to whether you like it or not it is a mixed breed to get it to what these horses are now. They looked different in the past so thry had to be mixed to make breed better.

      @@terryreyes1125 they r no wild mustangs that they would get mixed, it’s not if I like it or not, the horse breeding tradition in this country is 5000 years old which are still being followed today, unlike west where horses have run feral and turned into a hybrid nuisance.

    Very inconsiderate of the organizers to not have clean drinking water setup on the courses. 15.40 - Horses drinking from a tank full of some moss/other things. Mr. Philippe pointed out earlier in the video " You must LOVE your Horse", I don't think the organizers really Love the horses. They clearly treated them as object of making some money out of the tourism. All the so called breeders and the Royalty (I Think some where in this video) are only paying lip service. In short - Super tough Horses, The Marwari, But shame on the Breeders/Royalty for treating the horses the way they do.

    Watched a documentary from quite a few years ago just before watching this one and based on the history given in there in I felt that quite a few of these horses at the gallops were lacking the characteristic ‘Roman-nose’ of The Marwari Horse, and had haunches more like Arabs, or even American Quarter Horses. Possibly they’re being modified to suit the owners’ tastes, but being the cynic I am, I suspect that international marketing might be to someone’s taste. 😕

    • @TheNewGuards
      @TheNewGuards  4 года назад +1

      In my opinion, breed needs to be preserved in originality first, Here in India horses are part of culture, and create a huge market all over the country.
      I am sure the International market will follow once the local market is robust.
