Hello Kate and Norma. Its always a treat to see another opening. Like a little treasure chest. And Norma is sooooo precious. Big hugs to her. Loved those pants. Wish they were for adults too. 😀 thank you for a happy little visit today. God bless, stay healthy.
I so much love your Sewing for Agnes videos. It’s like unwrapping a gift, much like the suitcases. I have a tip for you about elastic and side seams. If you stitch the seam allowance down to one side, at the edge of your seam allowance, and going as low as the elastic casing is wide and a tad below, that elastic will make your life easier because there will be nothing in its way. I recently found this out and I’ve been sewing since dinosaurs roamed the earth. Yes, this “old dog” learned a “new trick”! I love those pink pants. They remind me of a Hawaiian holiday.
How nice that you have a little girl to sew for. I have a daughter that I sewed for all the time. Now I have two grandsons and no sewing for them but I do quilt instead.
I cried today watching this podcast, the way you made your knot in your thread brought up so memories of my mum, she died 3 years ago, I'm doing a lot more sewing these days and I keep getting stuck and want to ask her how. I used to spend hours sitting by her in her sewing room, she sewed every day, made all my clothes as a child, she started work in a sewing factory at age 14 and sewed every day till she was no longer able to due to ill health, she would be 92 now, I'm 51, I miss her a lot, and all the things she could still teach me if she were still here. Anyway, you brought back lovely memories with that tiny little movt, thank you for being you xxx
Funny, how you read our minds about your hand. Thanks for letting us know. Those are the cutest pants, lots of room for the diaper, and comfy looking, as well.
Hello Kate, it was lovely watching you choose fabric for Agnes"s little crawling pants, and seeing the end result. Seeing Norma reminded me of our beautiful 19 1/2 year old Muffin who we lost to kidney failure just a week ago very suddenly. R.I.P beautiful girl.
Baby Agnes is the luckiest little precious girl. I love sewing for my grandchildren so much. Blessings as she discovers her world now that she is motoring around. Imagine and live in peace.
Kate I hope you get to see Agnes soon. What a reunion that will be...love the pants and photos of your flowers very much, oh and your lovely rose top...so much to love! ♥️
Thank you for the camera tip. I hadn't thought of value. A trick to aid in making clothes worn a little longer. In some children's trousers they gather the piece of elastic in the front a little bit and sew it down on the side seams. They put a button on each side seam . They put button holes in the elastic for the back and bind them well. The buttons are used to tighten and loosen the elastic. I know it's fiddly but it works very well. Another trick is to use a zipper long enough for the whole inseam. Makes changing a diaper a snap! I hope someone finds these hints helpful. They made my life as a mother much better. Blessings to all those who are off or on the Lime Green Sofa.
Hello Kate I have just recently subscribed to your channel on RUclips I was diagnosed a year ago in May with breast cancer I am a love to sew ,mostly clothing but I did make 3 cotton flannel rag quilts for my grandkids Nate was amazed that you could get lego flannel he was delighted I told all the grandkids when you cuddle up in the quilt its like a hug from grandma when I am not there I made the blocks 12 inches square and 6 by 7 so quick with the 3 layers top middle and backing So they cover up a bed top as well as snuggling on the sofa So during this journey of cancer treatments and staying isolated for a year (I was practicing before Covid came along) just going for treatments and home as I don't even want to catch a cold I have been spending time in my sewing room doing projects It has saved my sanity and is such a rewarding pass time I was googling a sewing video to watch looking for idea's and tutorials to make certain things easier just tips on bias binding etc. On my searching The Last Homely house popped up and out of curiosity I watched you I LOVE your channel ,the chats ,the cooking ,the cats all of it Maybe you can see me on the green sofa with my tea and biscuit But I turn you on while I am sewing projects and listen and watch you Thank you its like having a friend chatting as I work You have made me laugh and smile many times Don't change your style and you are so talented in many crafty things I used to cross stitch thinking about digging that out as well Thank you again Please don't stop I am watching you from Saskatchewan Canada Stay safe and chat with you soon
this is so lovely thank you - you will find a lovely community of people here on my Lime Green Sofa and they will make you very welcome, as will I. Take care and keep on sewing 'cuddles' for your loved ones! xxx
You are a wonderful grandmother for Agnes. I prayed that my daughter would have a little girl, but she had 3 boys. I made pajamas for them out of fleece and flannel this is the first Christmas that I didn't get any made. My youngest son and his wife had a beautiful little girl and I got to make her some girly clothes. All four are now teenagers ages from 13 to 16. I can still make pajamas bottoms for them. They are beautiful children and so smart. Hope you will get to see little Agnes soon. This virus is not being nice to the people over the world. I know you can't wait to put your arms around that bundle of joy. ❤
Love the pink flowered pants with the green lining there very cute. Doesn't take long to sew up baby clothes, I use to do alot of sewing when my kids were young. Until we meet again. 😁
Oh my goodness Kate! Those little pants are so stink'n cute! They look super comfortable! I love the way your quilt is coming along, the colors are beautiful! TFS Hugs!
Very sweet pants for baby Agnes, love the pink pair xx Dear Norma she is such a loving cat, the quilt is looking so nice, love the colours. Take care stay well Kate. We have been here in New Zealand 28 days so far in being virus free. We are all hoping and praying it stays that way xxxx 🙋♀️💕💕💕 Love and hi to all on the Sofa xxx
Just love how reliable Norma is once to say hello to the channel. Too funny. Love the sewing you are doing for baby agnes. How lovely for the parents to have a grandma so ready to share her skills and creativity!
Nice to see you and sweet Norma😻. The hexie is awesome and what you make for Agnes is so sweet. Take care and cuddles for the cats. Whit love from me, see you next time ❤😻🙋♀️
The photo of young John with Martha's polka dot suitcase gave me a chuckle. I had to get a carry on bag a few years back, and got a simple turquoise one. My son commented on the color, suggesting I chose it to prevent him ever borrowing the bag. The hexi quilt is coming along. What a beautiful picture in my mind's eye of Agnes peacefully asleep under it.
Oh a baby to sew for, such a lovely thing to do. Small, fast and cute and very rewarding. Love the suitcase filled with the fabric. The art quilt will be a watercolour
Hello Kate: It’s so nice to see you and Norma! That polka dot suitcase, soooo cute I love polka dots!! Nice choice of fabrics she had collected; I would probably been more apt to just make things for Agnes and surprise Mum😝 those britches are darling and so easy to whip up. Hope all is well with y’all. Have a good day and Gods Blessings til next time❤️😀
Dear Kate, what a wonderful video. I love the insight in this sweet polkadot suitcase, some sewing, chatting and wonderfully chosen music. And those Hexies in the background are adorable as well! Have a wonderful week, take Care! xoxo from Germany Stephanie
Love the little trousers , comfortable for baby , so many things nowadays are mini adult clothes which look uncomfable for little babies , happy times ahead learning to walk ect thanks for the ideas keep safe

Cute little trousers~♡the hand stitching too aww very sweet pink ones!!!! Hope to start my hexies today ( inspired by you). THANKS FOR YET ANOTHER WONDERFUL VIDEO. HAPPY YOU ARE FEELING BETTER!!!TTFN
Oh Kate I absolutely love that suitcase. I love using suitcases for storing fabric, yarn etc. I'll need to be making some clothes for my little grandson who is due in Oct. So excited for this little one to arrive. After 19 yrs of marriage my son and his wife are expecting their very first baby although they raised a little boy under foster care but he was returned to his mom and is now 11. He still spends quite a bit of time with them and I love him dearly as he is a grandson of my heart. He's so excited that's he's going to be a big brother. I'm planning a quilt and a few crocheted blankets and for him. I'd love to have the pattern you used for the little pants. Hope you get to see Agnes soon. Have a blessed day and give Miss Norma kisses for me.
Excited to check out the spotted suitcase and wasn't disappointed, thanks Kate. After your last video showing us the sizzix cutting the hexagons......I promptly bought one as I cut out mine all by hand; you have given me the push to start my quilt again. I love your colours and the idea of the builder's foam was very inspiring. Agnes will look so cute in her new trousers and love both.
Aww, Agnes' little pants are wonderful! She's such a lucky little girl to have a grandma like you, Kate. So sweet seeing Norma wanting your attention, its always nice to see the kitties.
Your hexagon quilt comes along beautifully. And Agnes pants are adorable. BTW, the suitcase reminded me of me childhood, I used to own a little case in red with white polka dots... my niece has it now. Thank you for the lovely video. Take care 🌸
OOOOhhh all that stripey canvas fabric.... lots of tote bags for the shop maybe, with little hexi applique.... I too am the nanna that goes around the children's dept with a tape measure, then comes home and makes stuff for the grandkids.... when my hand are working...
Love the little pants for Agnes❣ The pink/lime green are too cute! Although I like the mustard too. Reminded me of a set I made for my daughter embroidered top and bloomers with different colored hearts💕
So pleasing and I agree Monet"ish" and the trousers are so fun. Agnes will look very bright and very loved in her hand made new crawling britches. Now all she needs for gardening with 👵 are gloves, 👢& a 👒. BTW Kate, I'm liking your hair at this length. Spiffy!
First off I have to say I love the little polka dot suitcase. Ever so cute. The little pants for Agnes are precious, the pink & green ones are my favorite too. And Norma....what can I say, she is such a doll. I love how she wants to be in on everything you do. It must get difficult sometimes to get things done. But that's OK because she is good company. Have a Blessed day.
So good to see you as I take my place on the LGSofa, I brought brownies to share. It’s good to feel connected during this terrible lonely time. Agnes will look very sweet in the cute pants. Take care, everyone and stay safe.
I have been working on hexies as well. Mine start with I think 2 1/2 inches, with the batting the same size. Then the back is about 1/2 inch larger, which you then fold over twice, so no raw edges over the front. Fully completed hexie. I did borrow your idea of basting, so now I don't have to work around so many pins. It's a great take with me project. I used to sew for my girls, but then they got to the stage they didn't like anything homemade. So, now I just quilt, which I find absolutely fun.
Lovely video, thank you! Nothing to do with the suitcase or the trousers - I love your top! I noticed the binding around the neckline, and then (when you put Norma on the floor) I saw that the pocket was lined with the same fabric! Beautiful! Deb xx 🤗
I LOVE NORMA!!! Always in the mix and must not be ignored. I also love the fun polkadot suitcase.
Hello Kate and Norma. Its always a treat to see another opening. Like a little treasure chest. And Norma is sooooo precious. Big hugs to her. Loved those pants. Wish they were for adults too. 😀 thank you for a happy little visit today. God bless, stay healthy.

Hello Kate
I have just recently subscribed to your channel on RUclips
I was diagnosed a year ago in May with breast cancer
I am a love to sew ,mostly clothing but I did make 3 cotton flannel rag quilts for my grandkids
Nate was amazed that you could get lego flannel he was delighted
I told all the grandkids when you cuddle up in the quilt its like a hug from grandma when I am not there
I made the blocks 12 inches square and 6 by 7 so quick with the 3 layers top middle and backing
So they cover up a bed top as well as snuggling on the sofa
So during this journey of cancer treatments and staying isolated for a year (I was practicing before Covid came along) just going for treatments and home as I don't even want to catch a cold
I have been spending time in my sewing room doing projects
It has saved my sanity and is such a rewarding pass time
I was googling a sewing video to watch looking for idea's and tutorials to make certain things easier just tips on bias binding etc.
On my searching The Last Homely house popped up and out of curiosity I watched you
I LOVE your channel ,the chats ,the cooking ,the cats all of it
Maybe you can see me on the green sofa with my tea and biscuit
But I turn you on while I am sewing projects and listen and watch you
Thank you its like having a friend chatting as I work
You have made me laugh and smile many times
Don't change your style and you are so talented in many crafty things
I used to cross stitch thinking about digging that out as well
Thank you again
Please don't stop
I am watching you from Saskatchewan Canada
Stay safe and chat with you soon
