I do not think is a cultural or gender thing because I am a guy and I am multipotentialite: My interests go from Engineering, Management, Theology, Law, Environmental, Writing, Interior Design/Decorator, etc.

I would recommend that you read Refuse to Choose by Barbara Sher. A multipotentialite is another name for a scanner.
