- The day started with so much positivity and promise but soon it descended into a nightmare. Trucking into downtown Pittsburgh is not fun in a hood truck.

Mr Nick back in the mid 90s when we ran Pittsburgh it wasn't fun back then either. like a lot of city's today i consider it a win if I get back home with the Hood still in one piece. Safe travels sir . Peace 🇺🇲
I feel the same way about paying tolls..IFTA quarterly tax,2290,Yearly registration fees..They treat us like we’re not a essential occupation to the people..Every thing is a money grab.

"Onward and Upward!" You heard it from a few older saints in church. It pops out of my mouth sometimes too. The older we get the more of those "old time" phrases will start popping out. You know...the ones you've heard your dad say a few times.

If you ever get stuck in South Florida, and can't get a load out I can pass along a contact for multi stop, multi day nursery loads going into GA, AL,TX, NC,SC, and the NE. Those nursery loads are not easy. Been there...
My dad used to say, "It's not for the faint of heart". When folks at church would ask him what type of work was scheduled for a Saturday morning work/fellowship day that was his response. Nice way of saying you will be sweating, and getting your hands dirty.
Trucked for 47 years. Never trusted GPS. I CALLED EVERY CUSTOMER FOR DIRECTIONS. NEVER HAD AN ISSUE. I WROTE ALL DIRECTIONS DOWN AND FILED THEM. THAT WAY IF THERE IS A PROBLEM YOU HAVE DOCUMENTATION TO SHOW A COP OR A CUSTOMER. I PEDDLED PITTSBURGH FOR 2 YEARS. KEEP ON TRUCKING
I hope you’ve learned your lesson… Don’t go anywhere near Pittsburgh especially in the 53’. I avoid Pittsburgh like the plague and that’s in a regular vehicle. Hope you get out of there soon. Be safe and be well

Yeah man, gotta give you props for doing drops in those areas. I've done stupid loads numerous times in Pittsburgh & Philly, like I have the last couple days in Jersey topped off with my GPS telling me I couldn't go certain places as if it got old and senile on me. Takes nerves!

Are most State Turnpikes getting bought by Private owned companies?? I know Indiana Turnpike was Sold years ago... I believe. Use to be really nice NW Ohio to Chicago. Smooth roads but i heard Indiana toll roads falling apart now. I could be wrong but i always heard the State Sold out.
Bud I live an hour north west of Pittsgurgh and saying it sucks is a major understatement not trucker friendly at all.

It's not worth it man. I watched a news report of a trucker getting arrested in Pittsburg for getting stuck on a street not meant for trucks.

Pittsburgh is not easy at all. The buildings and off-ramps will cause your gps to get confused as to where you are. If you make the run again stop at conforti’s pizza in Irwin. It’s right on rt.30 between greensburg and north Versailles.
I had an awful experience in Pittsburgh as well. The highway was closed for construction. The detour brought me to a tunnel that wasn't for trucks. I had to break down my set of doubles and turn around... on a hill! I call it the nightmare on Corliss street. I wouldn't have recorded it either! Lol!
GPS always changes it’s mind on me. I check the settings so that it won’t reroute, then I scope out the route ahead of time and oh yeah I got this. THEN, it’s just what you said 🤯! GPS you’re killing me. When you find the right way in and out of these places you really feel like you have done something.
Continuing to learn a lot about O/O trucking from you. People need to make an effort to be helpful and drop the bad attitudes and you are seeing a lot of that. Seems like shipping and receiving in some places have an awful attitude with the drivers. Anyway, thanks as always for the vlogs and keep ‘em coming! Take care & be safe out there.
I have 5 bucks that says velox will be back on the left coast. because he doesn't know the east coast and paying all those tolls. So its only a matter of time before he starts hauling loads back to the west coast.. I cant wait. lol
