Wonderful music. Wakasugi’s conducting is just perfect (I don’t expect the opposite). He is a master, who conducting a master pianist, who are playing a masterpiece. And thank you for that. (Btw 19:08 those high typical japanese violins chords , it is insane…)

I delved into Akira Ifukube's music recently and this is not only the most beautiful song I've heard by him, it is perhaps my new favoutite piece from any artist.
Its amazing how his tracks will be used in the Godzilla franchise and you can already hear some of them already present in this track. Really interesting that happens.
I saw Reiko Yamada perform Ritmica Ostinata live with Patrick Gordon, and it was so beautiful that it brought me to tears! I think it is truly Ifukube's masterpiece and now i understand why he didn't make the music for Mothra (1961), because he was crafting this amazing, beautiful piece!
Maybe this is 1971 version. Ritmica Ostinata has three versions, first version in 1961, second in 1969 (and this was confirmed newly in 2016), and third version of 1971.

リトミカ・オスティナータいろんな音源聴いたけど、やはりこの演奏を超えるものは二度と出てこないんじゃないかと思ってきた
このテンポで破綻なく演奏しきってるのがすごい、完璧だ…
私も何十年と色々な演奏版を聴いてきましたが、やはりこの録音がベストだと感じます。

生粋の北海道民である私としては、伊福部先生は北海道が生んだ偉大な作曲家です！

演奏もこの盤がずば抜けて良いと思います。
私の伊福部昭ベスト３は①リトミカ②地球防衛軍③ゴジラのテーマ、です。
伊福部氏の数ある名曲の中で、個人的にどれか２つ３つだけを選べと言われたら、必ず入るのがこの曲。あらゆる意味で突出していると感じる、変態的名曲といって良い。最後の直弟子の一人であり、今や伊福部ピアノ曲の代表的奏者でもある山田令子さんが、この曲に感動して伊福部ゼミに入ったというのも有名な話。そして、この音源の演奏がいまだにベスト。
60を過ぎて伊福部に出会った。知らなかった。不明を恥じるのみ。
伊福部は今後、更に世界に羽ばたく。

John Foulds : Dynamic Triptych Op.88と比較して聞くと、面白い。ジョンフォールズの作品は、伊福部より先行する、戦前の作品。ピアノを音律のある打楽器として駆使した作品のような気がしてならない。

@@かえる王子-x8t 指揮の若杉弘氏はケルン放送交響楽団、現在のケルンWDR交響楽団の常任指揮者となり、その後ドレスデン・シュターツカペレの常任になるなど、ドイツ語圏でたくさんのオケを振り、広く活躍した人なので邦人作曲家とは縁遠いと思っていたけど、小林仁氏＆読響とのリトミカが名盤になるなど、伊福部昭の作品を取り上げ、いち早く世に知らしめた功績は大きい。他に日本狂詩曲の録音があるよね。邦人作品の初演魔で知られる岩城宏之氏より伊福部を取り上げている感じがする。
だいぶ曲の姿は変容したようですね。改訂したときの作曲者の作曲スタイルを反映しているのでしょう。ヴァイオリン協奏曲1番の改訂も同じスタイルに思えます。奔放でアジア的な面が後退したのは残念です。
本来多様かつ複合した由来を表す姿が、一方向のストーリーに押し込められてゆく。別の可能性がそぎおとされた結果、昏迷が支配する。一種の「文化的侵略」、むしろ勝者の歴史を紡ぐのと同様の手法が、伊福部昭の作曲に顕れているのではないか、と、考えています。
また、ドビュッシーの音楽と比較したとき特に感じます。私たちの無意識に根拠を持つ音楽の前では、形式的なところから抜け出せない姿を暴かれる。具象の観察に基づいた音楽になりきれていない、と。それは人間の内面を表現しようとする西洋絵画と、浮世絵を比較したときに覚える絶望的な違いと、似ています。
