Great video! A vehicle was passing at a high speed and kicked up a rock that broke my Honda Pilot driver side mirror. Thanks for making this an easy DITY repair!
Thanks for the Amazon link to the part here, in addition to the simple clear instructions. Saved $10 by not buying from Honda. And even in mid-December Amazon got it to me in a couple days.
Thank you for this amazing video! I lost my left side mirror and backing plate on a trip this weekend in a crazy fluke bird strike at 75 miles an hour! I was driving along on a wide-open highway went out of the blue a bird went on a kamikaze mission. I did a baby juke and the bird struck the back of the left side mirror, and the bird in the mirror bounced off ! 😂
A runaway horse actually busted my mirror!!! 🙈 Thankfully I had seen the horse coming and there was no traffic so I was able to stop. A metal part from the reigns bounced on the highway and wrapped around my mirror... It stopped the horse 👍 and busted my mirror 👎. Thankfully this video helped me replace it quickly, easily, and efficiently!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! My 6 yr old has a great batting swing and hit a baseball smack dab in the middle of my sideview mirror. My husband was going to purchase the entire sideview mirror assembly because he didn't know that only the glass could be replaced. You saved us a ton of money! I also appreciate the direct links to what you used!
I was afraid of pulling too hard and breaking it. I found that using some heat by blowing a hair dryer behind the glass in the colder temperature (high today of 37 degrees) made it easy to pop it off without breaking anything.
2016 is a new model year, but I can't imagine the design has changed that much. A quick look at the 2016 mirror part would tell you based on similar part design. Good luck!
After clearing snow off our 2020 Ridgeline, there was a bullseye on the right mirror glass.. I'm guessing, the snowblower picked up a piece of gravel and nailed the mirror glass... Have to remember to fold the mirrors inward at the next snow storm... :)
I hit the side of my garage this morning backing out and yelling at my daughter to put her seat belt on, lucky it didn’t take the whole piece off just the mirror part is hanging. May have to replace it if it broke the brackets.
On the back of the mirror that it snaps back onto is called what. My mirror broke off the glass is not broke but the round ball is. It on the passenger side.
Had to laugh. My wife just broke this mirror backing out of the garage. Her comment was that you should teach your wife this procedure so she doesn’t even have to admit each time it happens. 😏
BE CAREFUL! I tried this method to remove a broken mirror on my 2011 Honda Pilot LX-E (heated, adjustable, without turn signal). I had to pull quite hard and the whole internal adjusting mechanism broke and came apart. Now I'm looking at replacing the whole mirror assembly. Can't figure how to add a picture.
This video is a bit misleading. The mirror you removed was not factory. The original, fatory mirror is glued onto the housing (in addition to the clips) so it doesn't just pop-off like it does in the video. The particular method in this video did not work for me. I had more luck with prying it from the bottom like in this video: ruclips.net/video/457FylpXZCY/видео.html If it was the original mirror that you broke, you're going to have to put a bit more elbow grease in.
@@thebumpchannel yeah you right. I was just I was going to break the glass. So I placed tape over the Glass and got off. Thanks for the help and making this video

Sorry to hear that..tough luck. Glad it helped!
great video, to the point, unlike many others!
I appreciate that!
Thanks a lot for the tutorial and the links!
No problem! Good luck with repair!

Thx for watching and thx for the comment!
Daughter busted our mirror on her first day driving for Door Dash! I can't believe how simple the fix is. Thanks for the video!
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully will be an easy fix for you. Thx for the comment!
Excellent educational video. Thanks
Thanks for the comment and thx for watching!

Haha, definitely much more interesting than my wife backing into the garage!
Mother in law just had her's taken out by a motorcycle on the expressway. Guy was lucky not to get hurt.

That is awesome! Great to hear! Thx for the feedback!
So the black backing plate easily disconnects from the actual mirror glass? Thanx!
It's connected.
Thanks
No problem thx for the comment and thx for watching.

Good call on the heat! I am sure that helped. Be sure to give the video a thumbs up it really helps me out and thx for the comment!
Thanks for this idea! Cold day in Colorado, but got ‘er done without breaking anything.
I like how you throw your wife under the bus right off the bat 🤣😂
I might have been slightly annoyed by it, lol!
Hello, I was wondering if it’s as easily replaced for a 2016 Pilot too?
2016 is a new model year, but I can't imagine the design has changed that much. A quick look at the 2016 mirror part would tell you based on similar part design. Good luck!
Hi Sir, I have a 2010 Honda pilot driver side busted mirror , I know its pretty late but could I be eligible to get the driver side mirror.
Sure. If you could reply with your email address and I will be in touch. I still have it.
Thanks, I really appreciate it, my email is 1navedsulaiman@gmail.com.

Yikes! Thx for the comment! Sounds like a pretty powerful snow blower.
Done
Thx for watching but I already have given away!

I hope its just the mirror glass! Thanks for the comment!

I'd check parts here:
www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/
What if that entire thing in the middle fell off with it? What is that called to replace
Not sure might looks at parts here: www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

Haha not sure my wife has that skill set! Thx for the comment!
I’m sorry, but what if it doesn’t just “pop” back in? I’m pushing, lining up tabs, etc, and it still just falls right off. What then?
Have to be pretty firm with it, if I recall.
Caution to anyone who is trying to remove the glass to troubleshoot aby rattling, you'll destroy the glass.

Bought for my 2011 pilot did not fit and did not pop on .. it kept falling off.
That's odd. Wonder if part it snaps into is damaged
I’m guessing that side view glass is heated lol
Haha I may have mentioned that

If it was the original mirror that you broke, you're going to have to put a bit more elbow grease in.
Correct. Yeah the original one took a bit more effort.
Am I the only one having a hard time getting it to pop out
It takes a good bit of force. The picks work well and put back pressure with thumbs against the glass when pulling.
@@thebumpchannel yeah you right. I was just I was going to break the glass. So I placed tape over the Glass and got off. Thanks for the help and making this video
Broke my mirror the same way 😬 oops must be a woman things 😆 2010 honda pilot ex-l over here
I have come very close myself. I am sure sooner or later I will do the same and my wife will be redeemed!
Done
