Fascinating how it’s even possible to make a (distant) second place to that magical moment. Like, you’d think every other possible moment would be so far behind it couldn’t even be considered but NPMD just blows expectations easy peasy huh
Jon Matteson playing the weebiest weeb that ever did weeb fuckin kills me imma be honest. The "Hes talking to Stephanie Lauter!" "NANIIII" is the best thing ive seen in a while
I like to mention the amazing difference between “Bully the Bully” and “Bury the Bully”. The chorus is pitched slightly differently to be in what I think it a minor key? I really like that because it really helps set in the sinister tone of what happened
See the problem i have is that i find the chorus of bury the bully catchier and its the one that would be just terrible to ever accidently sing out loud. but that gonna go to juvi surely has just stuck with me since.

"Had to sell your bowtie to feed your family? THIS IS THE CONSEQUENCE FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" Also, "SO YOU DO KNOW THE BIBLE! Then why do you come to public school dressed in suspenders and a bowtie?" There's no way that placement was an accident.
That bit reminds me so much of one woman that like makes skits about teachers. It’s the way she says it and the face. I wish I knew her name but damn the resemblance
I watched Nerdy Prudes with a friend who's never seen any of the other musicals, and the looks he gave me at my dramatic gasps regarding the references to the other two musicals (the Paul and Emma scene and when Huggie-Wuggie showed up) were hilarious. He was just like, "I don't want to know"

“What the FUCK is happening here,” has very distinct “Okay, Jesus Christ, I don’t know what’s going on here,” energy and I love it
exactly what i was thinking
That and “what the fuck am I watching?”

We don’t talk about “I am Dan Reynolds” enough because that line kills me every single time
I love that bit 😂
The “NANI??” gets me every time
I cant stop rewatching it, easily the best line in the whole musical
The whole live chat went crazy too😂
He put all his heart into that line
Jon being a mega weeb is my favorite part of the musical.
Sameeee
“Oh my god, A FUCKIN SKELEUN” the way he says skeleton is so funny
jon’s performance in npmd is fuckin transcendent
These are our *B A R B E C U E M O N O L O G U E S*

I always love when there are these minor details that you'd only know about if you were paying really close attention to it😂
See the problem i have is that i find the chorus of bury the bully catchier and its the one that would be just terrible to ever accidently sing out loud. but that gonna go to juvi surely has just stuck with me since.
It reminds me of the difference between "Cup of Roasted Coffee" and "Cup of Poisoned Coffee" in TGWDLM
It’s both are in minor key, but Bury the Bully’s chord brings a sense of urgency to the situation
The “I have been for waiting for what feels like five FUCKING YEARS” is extra funny since TGWDLM came out in 2018
yah that's the joke 😅
omg I never noticed that icb it's been 5 years already
I've been waiting for someone else to say that
"What did you find? You don't say! YOU DON'T SAY!"
"What did they find, Dad?"
"They didn't say." 🤣

Best song because of lyrics: The Summoning.
Best song because of choreography: Bully The Bully
Best song because of both: High School is Killing Me
spitting facts!
"Bully the Bully"...how many different choreographic references did they fit into that one frickin song??
Here's my take in 1st 2nd 3rd each

Go Nighthawks is a good second place for both, the harmony on the “fuck you clivesdale” part makes me so happy

Honestly same. Top 3 hatchetfield
"Had to sell your bowtie to feed your family? THIS IS THE CONSEQUENCE FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE!"
Also, "SO YOU DO KNOW THE BIBLE! Then why do you come to public school dressed in suspenders and a bowtie?"
There's no way that placement was an accident.
also “a…. c+! steph- that was really special!”
Honestly the whole interaction between Grace and Max (including Max stopping the bullet) is so fucking funny! It’s literally my favorite part of NPMD
I AM ONLY ONE MAN’S GIRL, MAX, AND HIS NAME IS JAYZUS CHRIST.
That bit reminds me so much of one woman that like makes skits about teachers. It’s the way she says it and the face. I wish I knew her name but damn the resemblance
Glad to hear someone else thinks about the way Angela says "sex magic" and also everything Bryce does ever.
Barbecue Monologue has no right to go so hard, but it does anyway.
Also Lauren is a gem.
Favorite quote personally, is “baTRAYel”
god richie’s “I’M NOT A LOSER” before max kills him is so GOOD!!! jon’s voice is so beautiful and we rarely got to hear it before this

THE LORDS IN BLACK SONG SLAPS SO FUCKING HARD LIKE OML!!!!!😍😍😍😍
I've listened to it so many times at this point and I can't stop going back to it
Thank you for the skele'on collection
I just noticed the little noises that Max makes as he steps down the stairs and I’m dying. It’s at 2:58
As someone who hasn't watched it yet, I'm so confused about the plot lmao
Well, it's a lot like I Know What You Did Last Summer, and that's all I'm gonna say. It's amazing, and DEFINITELY worth watching!
As someone who has watched it, don't worry, the feeling won't go away
I just finished watching it and thought if anyone is watching this and have yet to see the actual musical, they’re gonna be sooooo thrown off haha
It's just a normal musical about teenagers
i appreciate that these are all out of order, to give that real out-of-context feel
Peter's 'oh no' at the voice over will never not get me
angela smosh my absoute beloved fuckin killed it
angela had me giggling every time she spoke
It's not just the lines but the amazing delivery!
why aren’t more people talking about jeff blim’s ‘in a hurry character’
He's in too much of a hurry to be spoken about
We love Barry Swift in this house! 😁
I love that that's his response to them saying he's got motive to kill. He's not denying it, he's just like well yeah I've got good reason.
“oh shit!! oh fuck!!! i didn’t think there’d be a skele’uhnn here!!” is a line reading that has been living rent free in my head ever since i heard it
I KNEW WE DONT GIVE A SHIT ABT UR PHONE WOULD BE SOMEWHERE WOOO
""Gasp* DAN" has me giggling omg
I will not stop until someone agrees with me: "The Summoning" gives STRONG Devil's Carnival vibes and I need someone to see it as well!!! xD
I'll co-sign with that! I didn't see the digital ticket, but I heard the full impact of their slightly off set choreography would very much throw it that way, too, in general.
OH MY GOD YES!!!
YES!!!
i love the entire lords of black scene
I love when Corey says "Did you just throw your hand BETWEEN THE HAMMER AND THE PHONE!??"
“I will never hold the real Rei or Asuka in my arms” 😢
1:22 i swear to god, every single time i hear this it gives me chills, and makes me want to cry just WOW, WOW
after watching this i had funky town stuck in my head, interspersed with heartfelt proclamations of “I’M NOT A LOSER”. quite the experience, thank you
My boyfriend who does not enjoy musicals loved NPMD and I’m taking that as a win
i really like uh
“… … … i turned 40 today”
the Skeliuhn compilation ❤
I love Steph’s line delivery 😂
My god, Jeff's lost weight in that cameo
I lose it with "So you do know the bible!"
"had to sell your bowtie to feed you fucking family?" is so underrated
“Had to sell your bow tie to feed your fucking family☹️”
GOD I HAVNT STOPPEDMLAUGHINF SINCE I WATCHED NPMD THE FIRST TIME😊

it was jon as wiggly :))
