i appeared for cat the last year and i was stunned by the level of complexity used in the rcs. since then i have levelled up my reading skills and as sir said i have been reading about 3 to 4 articles a day across various platforms and from different sources. tbh i dont feel any sort of increment in my skills and it has been bothering for some time. but i believe in myself and im sure will figure out a perfect way to ace varc this year. it is nice to see a varc coach at 2iim. hope to see such informative vdos about varc in the future.

The articles that you have been reading will definitely help you in building your reading muscle which will in turn greatly help you in cracking the CAT VARC section. Muscle building takes time so keep at it and make it a consistent habit. :-) One tip for you is that you can pause for a few seconds after you have completed reading an article to process its main idea in your head. If you can find a reading buddy, compare your main idea with theirs. This will help with comprehension. Also, it's very important to read "effectively" in CAT. Yeah! Gave a random mock test without any preparation for the first time. Got -7 in VARC, and that's horrible and embarrassing being a full time English medium student. Happy to find such great tips for developing my VARC skills.

Hello Jatin sir, I agree with what you explained But to check our understanding we really need rcs with questions I know you guys come up with articles and questions related to it But the article would be too lengthy at times and we won't be getting the actual hold or feel of CAT rcs I have a request for your team Please please provide atleast 2 rcs every week that replicates CAT rcs with different types of questions And I have a suggestion for it If possible you guys can have a telegram group and come up with the same idea for other two sections as well I hope you guys will come up with something I know Rajesh sir would be pumped up to help us all Thank you 😊

That's on purpose because we want CAT aspirants to stop worrying about details while reading and develop a habit of effectively following the author's main idea. This habit can really help with CAT RCs. That said, I get your point about CAT like RCs supplemented with questions. In the 2IIM courses, there is already a healthy mix of both. We will definitely see what we can additionally do for our external audience. I have a comprehension tip for article reading that I can share with you. Hello sir. I have been very averse to Reading articles for RC. I cannot sit more than 25 mins for reading practice. Though my dilr and qa are good , my previous mock scores plummeted my confidence level. I am confused and scared to proceed with varc since there are hardly 80 days to cat 2022. Please help.
Hi Adithya. You don't have to sit more than 25 mins to read at once. 25 mins of leisure reading is fine. Just make sure you read with good concentration and try to enjoy it. :-) Tell yourself that you will enjoy it and immerse yourself in it. Falling in love with reading is the key to cracking VARC. :-) At this stage, solve 2-3 RCs and/or 4-5 VA questions per day. Analyze properly after solving them. Take at least 1 mock a week and analyze it completely. Mock scores are known to fluctuate so don't worry. Keep attempting and analysing them. If RC is not your strong point, focus on VA. Start your mocks with VA and then go to RC. Consider spending 12-15 mins on VA and score as many marks as possible. Try this in your mocks and see if it works for you. VARC can be quite fun.
