You CAN tape mod this, but I think you need to make sure the corners of the PCB are not taped over. I put three layers of tape on and cut out the corners so the "grounding" points can technically make contact with the corresponding posts of the bottom case. Not quite sure how that works, but it's working just fine. What REALLY helped the sound was using a rotary tool to get rid of most of the case standoffs (just relying on four on the very edges of the assembly. I was using the screws initially, but if you tape over the posts as well, you can friction fit the assembly to these mounting points without needing screws. I'm pretty pleased with the results. It's quite deep and muted now, which suits the board quite well.
I also tape modded the inside of the spacebar that was quite pingy with ducktape, multiple layers with premade holes for the switches, worked great. I'm doing the PCB taping right now, and also I'll try cotton for the forcebreak mod.
You dont feel any difference between the apex but you have a much better time in generel with the KB65he because it has much more quality for the Same price@@chadsugden411
